I love how the original protagonist and wives were horrible people who just killed and robbed despite being rich and the story scrambled to find justification for their actions. Meanwhile, our little “villains” are just minding their own business, trying to stay out of others way, paying mortals despite no steady income…
This is good worldbuilding though, I like how the characters are fully fledged!
