Translator's Note

In this novel, the author has previously referenced the concept that yang is born from extreme yin, and yin is born from extreme yang. This is probably the thought process for the appearance of the moon and yin motifs from his Brilliant Fire of the Sun.

  1. I have no idea what is happening here.

    Where did he get the cultivation methods from?

    Is this the one where he was devising in the earlier chapters, like a progress check?

    Can we umm, recap?

    Lava fire > method of the celestial

    Blood > Method of the asura

    His original favorite weapon> method of the human (but what did he absorb for this?) arent his qi oceans hunngry for certain types of things?

    The Yama and hungry ghost are lost on me. Is the poison one there?

    I remember the monster one but where is that from again?

    Also which of these came from the chaos he absorbed?

    • Prior to Volume 6 “Sudden Return to the Modern World”, Gongyi Tianheng had made progress with three qi oceans: 1) A reddish-black qi ocean with corrosive blood-poison, 2) A reddish-gold qi ocean with the power of the sun, and 3) A clear qi ocean with transformative blood pearls of certain beasts.

      You can review Tianheng’s initial qi oceans in Chapter 335.

      During Volume 6, Tianheng broadened his understanding of his path of martial arts through his access to the Internet in the modern world. On the way back, he tempered his body with the power of chaos, and absorbed this light-gray power into his qi oceans.

      Currently, his six qi oceans are based on the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Though his qi oceans are receptive to certain powers or external substances, the “direction” that he bases them on is largely dependent on his own desires. Since he is developing his own path of martial arts, his creativity plays an important role in this development. Thus, he gained inspiration from the modern world’s culture and folklore.

      Can i make a guess regarding the monster path cultivation method?

      Is it from the central continent when he went hunting for monster to temper his skills and body? He absorbed a lot of resentment back then. Wasn’t that around the time they met that strong manly woman cultivator from their previous sect that got along well with one of Tianheng’s sisters?😅🤔

  3. Tianheng’s 6 paths are based on the Six Realms of Buddhist cosmology, which in turn comes from the Hindu concept of Samsara. Hence why it says he got inspired by his visit to Earth.

    The six paths are:the world of gods or celestial beings (deva) ;the world of warlike demigods (asura) ;the world of human beings (manushya) ;the world of animals (tiryagyoni) ;the world of the starving (preta) ;the world of Hell (naraka).

    This is actually a major plot point later on, so you might want to add this to a footnote somewhere.

  4. Thank you for the chapter and always the amazing translations. I shudder to think what the MTL version of this would be; I’ve peaked at some for IHM before and it was near incomprehensible so this would probably be gibberish x 20. This is so much work so thank you again.

    • This is my favorite novel and even that cludln’t make me read mtl. (I’ve read some before love rhe villain for 600 chaps). The mtl of ihm is the fucking WORST. Tianheng is called scorpion or public speaker, sometimes both. And everything is so muddled qi has like 5 words and the realms are confusing as fk.

    Tianheng took a deep breath, and continuously swallowed the liquid inside those two pools –> continuously absorbed the liquid

    As the spear guides the stars, it shall turn the contellations into troops. –> turn the constellations into formations (or arrays).
