Noone thought maybe this is his psychic power trying to protect him when his life is in danger? It shut down Ano then stopped. Like it knew it could get help pretty sure his energy might be ready for self defense. Ye Muo didn’t consciously do anything but cut April when he surprise attacked. Which begs the question why you no attack assassin. Maybe those crystals shielded the pirate from the power’s threat detection. Anybody got theories.
Maybe because he thought he was “safe” since Ano showed up his powers didn’t activate? And after the attack his powers had to deal with Ano so no counterattack.
Or maybe the assassin’s attack was too fast for his underdeveloped powers? The assassin is supposed to be the best of the best and was confident enough to take on a baby Grantz.
