With a loud groan, Luca slammed the stop button on his alarm clock and slowly got up from his bed. Gosh, why do mornings have to be so? So… Ugh, that word isn’t coming to mind. Oh well, it doesn’t matter, he just has to get ready for school now before he falls back asleep, which is really tempting right about now.
After showering, he goes to his sister‘s room to wake her up. He sees the little girl snuggled in her blanket hugging her teddy and he just smiled at the sight. Soon he pats her awake, and she sleepily smiled at him.
“Good morning, Big Brother Lu!”
“Morning, Luna! Had a nice dream?“
“Yep! I saw the dragon from the story, and we had a tea party with the princess!“
He got her to brush her teeth and went down to see what delicious food Susan had cooked up for breakfast. Susan is such a godsend for mornings like these. He saw his parents about to leave and he waved goodbye to them before sitting down to eat in peace, unlike last night. He started eating along with Luna, but Luna ate at such a speed with her tiny mouth moving at the speed of light, everyone watching was worried she might choke.
“Luna! Eat slower! The food isn’t going to run away.”
Nodding her little noggin to Susan, she slowed down, and Luca struggles to hold in his laughter. He kisses Luna and Susan’s heads and grabbed his bag as he ran out the door. He slid into the car and greeted the driver.
“So, Mike, you think I’ll get there on time today?”
“Hehe, Luca I wouldn’t hold my breath because a look at today’s traffic reports would tell you…”
By the luck of Loki, he got there just before they closed the gates. Now there’s the next hurdle: getting into class before the teacher does. He starts running and for once he‘s glad he‘s good at running. As he runs, he saw he had company. A dark-haired guy that usually stays quiet and mysterious in class was in a similar condition as him as he ran to class. But he can’t immediately recall his name for some reason then it came to him.
“Hey, you’re Hirokazu from my class right?”
The guy gave a slight nod as he increased his speed. His eyes held a bit of surprise, and he smiled slightly.
Luca smiled at him and surprisingly it turned out to be a real one, he didn’t even realize himself. They both reached the class in the nick of time. Both went their separate ways: Luca to his friends and Hirokazu to his seat.
Luca glanced back at the boy with amazing black hair, it looked silky and so well conditioned like how did he get it like that. He‘s a mysterious one but that’s only because he speaks rarely and doesn’t look like he has any friends. Plus he often gets called out of school for something and he doesn’t say what. No one approaches him either since he looks like he can pack a mean punch. Interesting dude but not like they’ll be interacting soon.
Emily came prancing about to his table to remind him of yesterday. But does it look like he had short-term memory loss of something? He obviously can’t forget all the fanfare she made to get to talk to him.
“Good morning! I hope you haven’t forgotten what I asked of you yesterday…“
“Oh, of course not! I‘ll meet you on the roof.“
She ran back to her seat giggling and excitedly talking (or otherwise known as bragging) to her gang of pretty people. Honestly, he doesn’t want to go anywhere near her, she’s annoying as hell and even faker than him. He honestly does not see what’s so great about her that makes her that popular. Plus that persona of her‘s is super easy to break so he can’t wait to see who would do that. It would be entertaining, and his slightly sadistic side would be satisfied.
Soon class started and Luca zoned out as he stared out the window like a lot of anime protagonists. But rather than soothing trees, he sees monotonous buildings with people going about their routines. But it’s better to watch than the teacher struggling to make the class listen to her. Hehe, that office dude tripped trying to see up that lady‘s skirt… and that lady slapped him. See, much more entertaining than math.
Time went by, and Luca went to the roof to meet with Emily, to see what she wants and it’s probably to make him her boyfriend. She isn’t that hard to predict. The door was open enough for him to see her standing face up to the sky, which would normally make anyone swoon but Luca ain’t just anyone, he’s Luca “Not an Idiot” Carlucci.

Emily inwardly thought he was definitely in love with her after seeing that perfectly planned encounter and her plan was already finished. She turns to him and smiles happily with a faint blush. Luca was inwardly gagging.
“Luca… I‘ve liked you since last year, and I think you‘re amazing. Want to date? I know we’ll be great together.“
Luca knew he shouldn’t have said okay to meeting her. Such a pain but at least he can get it over with now instead of later.
“I‘m sorry but I have to say no. I’m not ready to date yet and think we’re too young to date anyway.“
Emily was shocked. How dare he say no to her? Is he sick or something? But now is not the time and she had to keep up her image of a princess to the end. She needed a plan and needed one fast. She thought of something and gave him a sweet smile that looked very pitiful.
“I suppose you’re right… but can I ask you to keep something for me? Please? I just want to give you something I got for you. It‘s a watch! I got it for you on Valentines, but I was too shy so I didn’t give it to you then.“
Emily looked sad on the outside, but she was raging on the inside. She had a new plan and was going to make Luca regret everything. Meanwhile, Luca couldn’t help but accept it. As fake as she was, he just rejected her and he honestly felt bad for her since getting rejected hurts either way. He took the old pocket watch, and it looked ancient. Luca felt something was wrong, but he didn’t know what. She can’t be that stupid to get revenge right?
They went back to class in awkward silence and class almost immediately started. So neither of the two friend groups got any information on the two. And Luca’s group never got to since he just brushed it off as nothing. That weird feeling hasn’t gone away yet. While hers got a modified version, painting him as someone horrible who coldly rejected someone as gorgeous as her.
He got home and hugged a surprised Susan who was soon disgusted as he hugged her without changing out of those dirty clothes. He laughed and ran off to find Luna.
Luna sat on her bed which was decorated like the galaxy, reading the book he got her for her birthday. It was a sci-fi based story called “The Roar” by Emma Clayton. She adores the story so much she tried to make the gadgets in it. She just gets so creative once she reads something like the time she made a drone after reading some story to help Susan around the house. So cute!
The book engrossed her to the point where she didn’t even notice her brother creeping towards her, then the two were engaged in the battle of the tickles. The giggles and shrieks from the room brought a smile to the maids near the room. After they calmed down, when Luna wipes her happy tears she noticed the watch in his pocket.
“What’s with the tacky old pocket watch? Present from a girl?” She grinned like the little devil she was.
Luca chuckled as he explained about Emily. He could tell this little leprechaun anything and she‘ll have an appropriate response that made him smile.
“Fishy girl, be careful about her okay?” She looked with that pleading look that would even make the angels teary-eyed.
“Gosh, can you get any cuter? Come on, let‘s get some dinner!” Luca pinched her cheeks and headed down for dinner.
It was business as usual and an awkward meal later, the two siblings headed to bed for a story and their sleep.
Luca got up in the middle of the night since he heard screams. And he knew the source of it and rushed to comfort Luna. He sees his innocent and precious sister weeping with the most heart-wrenching sobs and thrashing all over in her sleep, his heart hurts so much. He goes and holds her arms tightly as he slowly rocks her to calmness. The poor thing has been like this since that awful day, and Luca can’t do anything about it to even help her so he feels even more frustrated. As he left the room, he sees his parents out her room along with Susan looking worried. He tells them she’s fine and heads back to his room to get his things and goes to his sister‘s room to sleep with her.
He soon realises he‘s wide awake after two hours and gets up to get ready for school. He decided to return the watch Emily gave because he doesn’t want to get her hopes up. That girl makes everything an opportunity for her success and that’s the only thing he respects about her. That girl could make a funeral a stepping stone for her to become a success.
He goes down for breakfast and sees his father waiting at the end of the stairs. He looked surprised to see Luca awake at that hour since he‘s usually late.
“Good morning… how’s Luna?” He asks Luca with concern lacing his voice.
“Yeah good morning… she’s fine but very tired. Where’s Rebecca?“
His father looked mad and was about to say something but his stepmother comes down in a hurry, almost tripping over her own feet. This made both the father and son smile.
“SO SORRY! I forgot my documents…morning you two!“
“Morning! I was just asking about you…“
Luca got a glare from his father who remembered what he was going to say before.
“Luca Carlucci, how many times have I told you to call her Mother?”
His stepmother was so annoyed now that he said that.
“Dear god Roberto, I’ve told you a thousand times; I don’t care… It’s fine as long as we‘re chill with each other and not at each other‘s throats. Now we better get going before we‘re late!“
They both rushed out the door in such an odd manner that Luca felt like laughing but kept it in. He had breakfast and surprised his driver by being early, and Mike even had his mouth wide open. He was going to enter the classroom, but he heard some idiot talking to herself and no surprise, it was Emily.
“That bastard is going to pay for rejecting me…Grandfather’s watch is in his hands, and everyone knows how precious it is for me, it’s so easy to frame him for stealing it.“
And cue her maniacal laughing and Luca being dumbfounded. Was this that famed Grandfather’s watch he heard of? Wow, what a tacky watch…
Such an idiot! And a very pathetic attempt at framing him… so much evidence of her giving it to him, she could have put it in his desk while he wasn’t looking or something. Such a fool…
Now he needed to get hid evidence and he never would have thought he would be the one to break her fake persona…
Luca chuckled at the outcome and headed over to the security room.
The room was thankfully empty, and he went to see the secret camera’s recording on the rooftop. That camera was originally supposed to be used for catching smokers and those who skip class. He took the required recording and saved it to his laptop. He headed back to class with a grin. Ooooh, the drama was coming! He saw Hirokazu and smiled his fake smile at him. Hirokazu looked weirded out and returned an equally fake one back at him. He was impressed that Hirokazu noticed the difference between those smiles.
Emily, on the other hand, has been glaring at him for ages it was starting to get annoying. She has her neutral princess face on if Luca looks back at her. Kindergarteners would have her figured out in 6 seconds flat and would have sassed her out of this place faster than her persona change.
It was after the break that she decided to start her stupid plan.
She first looks through her bag normally and then she started to panic and crying in a pretty manner.
“Oh no! My watch! My Grandfather’s watch! It’s gone! What am I going to do? I‘m so dead if I go home…“ She wailed and earned everyone minus a few smart people’s sympathies.
“No way you lost it! Everyone check your bags to see if her watch is inside!“ Her oh-so loyal friend yelled, making the poor teacher at the front miserable.
The whole class did and no surprise they found it in Luca’s bag. People really change their opinions on someone fast, they all did a 180 when they found out. Even his ‘friend‘ group did that, well besides Ashton. The boy just looked annoyed at the room full of idiots.
“God y’all are a 100% idiots… honestly, Luca is the last person who would resort to stealing!“ Ashton surprised Luca big time by being on his side. This might actually have its benefits if it continues.
Luca smiles and took a quick look around the room to see two more people not judging him: Lillith Sorren Potter and Hirokazu Ibata. Lillith was the popular kid who was famous for her smart mouth and she looked interested at what he would do next. Hirokazu nods his head at Luca and motions him to proceed with his counter-attack. So he knew Luca had a backup plan… Nice! As he was about to begin the show, he wondered what gave him away.
Luca holds up a hand telling them to stop yelling before asking one simple question.
“Okay so her watch is in my bag. Why would I take it?“
Loads of people immediately started yelling that he took it for revenge for getting rejected by her.
“Yesterday you didn’t say what you two talked about and you looked like you were embarrassed, so obvious conclusion was that you confessed to her once you two were alone and she rejected you!”
Luca gagged inside as he innocently shook his head at him. Ashton let out a laugh before stopping and asking the most logical question.
“If he got rejected, why would Emily look like she was going to cry after they came back? Gee, the things you do to protect the girl you like…“
That got the huge fan of Emily to shut up and turn red angrily for being outed as her fan.
Luca took the opportunity to speak up for himself.
“Okay guys, calm down! This is a huge misunderstanding, and I’ll show you guys why… Hold up I need my laptop…” Luca rummaged through his bag for his laptop and set it up with full volume.
The class looked curiously at what he was doing, even the teacher gave up trying to take the class and looked excited to see the drama. Lillith and Hirokazu walked up to stand next to Luca with Ashton, who looked both pleased and confused to them coming. Emily looked confused before panicking a bit and trying to change the subject like she didn’t mind but it was to no avail.
“So my proof is ready, so pay close attention okay?” Luca hit play with a grin and was ready to watch the show. The faces of people change faster than their opinions and they all collectively glared at the guilty-looking Emily who was about to cry.
“So here you guys saw her confessing to me, me turning her down and her giving the watch to me. This clears things up quite a lot, and I hope you can see the truth of the matter. I have never been and never will be a thief.“
Emily broke down with the entire class’ attention on her. Luca showed her no mercy and smiled sadistically at her image crumbling, but not many saw as they were too busy glaring at Emily. Hirokazu, being one of the few to see, was intrigued by the Italian Prince and Lillith excited by this new development. Ashton was simply glad this entire ordeal is done and over with. Luca still had an image, unlike Emily, to maintain so he decided to pretend to forgive the conniving bimbo.
“Alright, guys I think that’s enough. I’m sure she has her reasons, and she would never do such a thing again right?“
He gave out a hand for her and his image of a Prince just strengthened in everyone’s minds. Emily saw this as her last chance to get revenge, so she launched herself towards Luca with intent to harm. Luca was genuinely stunned by this turn of events. This girl has no dignity, doesn’t she? Okay, can’t dodge at this small distance so Luca just stood there ready for impact. He’s a guy anyway and what damage can a petite girl like her do?
But to his surprise, he was pulled towards someone and landed on their firm chest. Plenty of gasps was heard and Luca looked up to see who saved him from the claws of doom. It was Hirokazu, who was a bit taller than him, gazing valiantly at the fool that was once called this class’ Madonna lying pathetically on the floor.
“Don’t even think about getting your hands near him! Take your leave before things get ugly!”
Luca in all his years of living had never once blushed so heavily nor had he ever been protected like this by anyone. It was an odd feeling but nice, nonetheless. Many people in the class have always wondered of what other faces Luca can pull off, but they never expected the guy called the Italian Prince to look so cute while blushing. Many wondered what that throbbing feeling they had was when they saw this scene of Hirokazu protecting Luca was and Lillith knew exactly what it was and she was going to use this to the fullest by taking her phone‘s camera out.
Luca realised he has been on Hirokazu for quite some time now and tapped his chest to make him let go. Hirokazu looked down confused, but it soon dawned on him on what he was doing and he let go of Luca while blushing and mumbling an apology. The people had that odd feeling in their chests again while watching the happen and Lillith was taking pictures of the two. Ashton, the poor clueless boy, looked on and hoped Emily gets retribution for trying to harm Luca and wondered what was wrong with Lillith and why she was taking pictures now.
The new bond between Luca, Hirokazu, Lillith and Ashton was formed and this gang had plenty coming to them from the future.
YAY He found some new REAL friends!
