It’s from Yourwei again! This time it’s a longer novel, so I’m just going to be doing a teaser of it, as it’s sort of too much for me at the moment.
Also, a note about how YJY talks. He uses a lot of ‘breath words’ like ah, yah, ba at the end of his sentences, which can be seen as cutesy + informal; though in his case it is just a unique part of his area’s dialect. I’ve decided to translate the ah’s and yahs as ‘though’ in some parts instead of adding a ~ at the end like this –》( I like ice cream～）, though that is also how it could be seen. I just didn’t want to add the ~ because it makes YJY seem flirty or actually acting cutesy on purpose.
The speed in that he talks is also quite slow, you can imagine his voice as sort of sleepy/lazy(?) in speed, except he’s not actually sleepy or speaking lazily, it’s just a speech quirk of his.
If you’re curious to what YJY would sound like, say in comparison to SWX（would count as pretty fast at times), then listen to the free audio drama on missevan fm. (You don’t have to download the app, there’s a desktop website version as well)
Another thing to note: this novel is written in the 3rd person and focuses perspective on both Ye Jiuyue and Shen Weixing, though token other characters have their spot in the limelight as well. Just wanted to say this bc I don’t consider YJY the sole mc and SWX the ml, they’re both mcs for me, as opposed to FRYG and ANNOY where there’s only 1 main character (though that’s easier to see as they’re both written in the 1st person POV)
