“Agares…”

I couldn’t help but recite this syllable, which contained all my love, and I immersed myself in the fragrance he exuded. JAzt E

Agares tightened his grip around my waist, burying his head in my back and gently rubbing, as if silently contemplating about something.

I have to say that his body was too heavy for me, and it made me a little uncomfortable. I twitched my new dorsal fins a couple of times, silently expressing my dissatisfaction.

I only realized how many pounds I weighed when my enormous sashimi pressed down on me. It propped my body up from underneath, almost like a reflex. My dorsal fin suddenly spread open, catching him off guard as it fanned out behind me. Thinking about the sharp edge of my dorsal fin, as if it were a blade,

The huge sashimi pressed against me then realised how many pounds it weighed and pushed itself up from me. As if it were a conditional reflex, my dorsal fin spread open all at once and unexpectedly slapped him behind me. Thinking about the sharp edge of the dorsal fin, I was frightened and immediately turned around, only to see that Agares’ face and body were marked with several deep and distinct bloody cuts, and dark blue blood flowed from the exposed flesh.

l0E6tb

“Damn it, does it hurt?” I quickly leaned over to lick his wounds, but his webbed claws held my butt, and I fell into his embrace, caught off guard, sitting on his fishtail. He slightly lifted his head, gazing at me as if about to kiss me. I held my breath, waiting for his lips, feeling his webbed claws gliding over my back, following the pattern of my extended dorsal fin, teasing and caressing inch by inch. A slight tingling sensation ran along my spine, reaching my nerves, making me involuntarily straighten my back. My breath became a bit hurried, and I couldn’t help but hold onto his neck, gently licking the wound on his face.

“I’m very worried about you, Desharow.” At this moment, Agares suddenly pressed his lips against the side of my neck, his tone full of worry, “Do you feel any pain in your body?”

“No, I haven’t felt any discomfort in my body.” I looked towards the spot where I had knocked Levjet unconscious from a distance. I saw a group of Bluetails surrounding him, and he was already awake, looking at us. It made me feel uneasy. “Levjet wanted to control me, but he obviously made a mistake. He said I’m the perfect experiment, a fusion of mermen and human genes… It’s ridiculous. I thought he actually cared about me as his son.”

“I suspected it was him. Apart from me, only he had the opportunity to access the primordial genes.” YX9tOQ

I was surprised and asked, “Primordial genes, what are they?”

“The primordial——the primordial merfolk. Your dorsal fin is only possessed by the merfolk ancestors who were first born in Atlantis. Back then, the merfolk were much more powerful, capable of flying from underwater into the air like seabirds… But as the oceans became polluted by humans, the power of the mother nest gradually weakened. The primordial merfolk had to choose to become nutrients for the mother nest, allowing more offspring to be born smoothly. To maintain their population, the mother nest abandoned the primordial merfolk, which required more energy to give birth to, and recreated another form of merfolk that was more adapted to the environment, which is what we look like now.”

“So, the subsequent merfolk, including you, are the frugal goods…” I murmured.

“What did you say?” Agares asked in confusion. hEciUA

I quickly shook my head. I couldn’t let the Chief hear this because creating this huge piece of sashimi was probably the most laborious thing the Mother Nest had done beside giving birth to the primordial merfolk. “But am I not better now?” As I said that, taking a deep breath and standing up from his arms, shaking my dorsal fins and carefully unfolding them. I lowered my head to look at him. “I’m not an ordinary human, nor an ordinary young species, am I? I believe my body can absorb this gene. If I can maintain this form, I’ll be an excellent amphibian, free to move between land and sea. It’s really amazing! If you ever make me angry, I can…”

“‘I won’t give you that chance.'” Agares murmured, pulling me into his embrace. His voice was low and deep. “‘I’m going to take you back to Atlantis, away from here, far from the human world.'”

I was stunned for a few seconds, and then, as if a heavy burden had been lifted, I opened my mouth and let out a relieved laugh. I pinched his two wing ears and eagerly asked, “Have you finally realised? Are you going to stop expanding this war? I didn’t hear wrong, did I, Agares?”

“You didn’t hear wrong. The cost of continuing this war is too high. Humans are completely different from us.” Agares said, his eyes lost in deep shadows under his eyebrow, with a glimmering light flickering in his pupils. I knew very well that he was looking in the direction of the waterfall. “I’ve only realised this today, how difficult it is to conquer humans and make them integrate into our world.” VwOjzy

“You’re right, it’s not like you’re trying to keep me obediently by your side and never let go anywhere.” I nudged his nose, trying to comfort him with my rather rotten sense of humour (Even I, myself, wasn’t sure if it was comforting), “You’re a special case, Chief. Not all merfolk are as loving as you. And not all humans have the chance to fall in love with a merman like me, especially now that merfolk are on the opposite side of humans. Just think about it, if humans capture merfolk and force them under their control—no one can guarantee that we won’t end up with a terrible situation where the tables are turned. If the war continues, human revenge will never stop because merfolk have taken away countless families’ loved ones and partners. The sorrow and hatred this causes among humans are equal to the pain merfolk feel when their spouses are snatched away.”

I tried to keep my tone as light as possible to avoid making Agares feel even more disheartened. I moved my hand to the back of his head and ran my fingers through his hair as if soothing a wounded beast.

Agares’ ears immediately twitched a few times like a small fan, and his gaze returned to my face, his brow furrowed, seemingly contemplating my metaphor. After a while, his furrowed brow slowly relaxed, as if he fully understood what I had said. However, shortly after, he seemed to feel that being comforted by me in this manner was damaging to his dignity. He narrowed his eyes sullenly. I quickly withdrew my evil hand, but he caught my wrist lightly, and my butt received a retaliatory attack.

This little bastard was adding insult to injury!

I didn’t hold back and gave the devilfish a good smack on its head, pulling its body back forcefully. However, Agares seemed to be amused by my comical expression, obviously taking pleasure in the evil behaviour of my “underwear” taking advantage of the situation.

“Tbe ujnf wf atlr vjwc atlcu pera ab afjrf wf, gluta?” sNR zt

I glared at him, and the smile on Agares’ lips deepened. He grabbed my cheeks with his broad webbed claws, leaned in close, and his tongue brushed my forehead, the centre of my brows, and ran along my nose to reach my lips. He opened his mouth and captured my upper lip, kissing me deeply.

I embedded my hands into his hair, gripping the back of his head, and kissed him back fiercely, refusing to show any weakness. His body leaned forward, almost toppling me onto the Devilfish’s back. His webbed claws moved up and down with fish’s movements, kneading my waist, his sharp nails tracing a tingling sensation on my skin, like shooting a gun accidently while polishing. His kisses became more uncontrollable, and I couldn’t help but think: I wonder what a “fish shaking” feels like? It’s probably more exhilarating than a car shaking, damn it.

Thinking like this, the earlier receding heat seemed to return with the desire that could have killed the horse army, which made me have to immediately push away from Agares and sit up from the fish’s back. Damn it, this was not a suitable place to have sex!

I touched my hot chest, took a few deep breaths, but suddenly noticed in the distance beyond the strait, a vast, dark shadow looming in the night fog, gradually heading in our direction. RoswTY

“It’s the backup called by the escaped humans.” Agares’s eyes darkened. He held onto my waist and swiftly guided the devilfish into the strait, with the bluetails’ holding Levjet closely following behind.

At the same time, from all directions, the noise of fighter jets closing in could be heard, getting closer and closer. In an instant, they rushed towards us from behind as if eagles were swooping down from behind the mountain, and with a deafening roar, dozens of bright beams of light illuminated the entire sea, making it as bright as day. In an instant, all the merfolk remaining on the surface were exposed, like a feast on a platter.

The devilfish carried me and Agares, manoeuvring through the surging waves, using one wave after another as our best cover. However, the bluetails in front of the waterfall were still immersed in grief. They seemed oblivious to Agares’ loud calls, showing no reaction to the sudden turn of events, as if they were determined to be buried with their mates. In an instant, a dense hail of bullets swept across the rocky beach like a sea of fire, and hundreds of bluetails were thrown into the air by the exploding spray. Their dazzling and beautiful tails created circles of melancholic ripples as they fell back into the sea, shattered and broken.

Agares roared loudly, and I tensed my body as this gruesome scene felt like a saw cutting through my brain, sending shivers down my spine. However, the situation clearly didn’t allow us to rush over and rescue the determined bluetails who were ready to die. Helicopters whizzed past the rocky shore, heading straight for Agares and me. lJ12ng

The blinding beams of dozens of lights swept over us like spotlights, and the approaching boats were like a group of bloodthirsty sharks, aggressively tracking our every move and refusing to let go. Torpedoes formed a deadly web underwater, creating a grave threat if we dared to dive into the water. It was as if humans had planned to focus on Agares. Indeed, if Agares, as the leader, were killed, the merfolk would fall into chaos, collapse.

“We need to get back into the rift immediately, Agares, they are targeting you!” I grabbed Agares’ arm nervously as he pressed my body down, causing us to crouch on the back of the devilfish. At that moment, the devilfish flipped over, and as the world spun around us, I found myself and Agares concealed beneath the sea’s surface, swimming rapidly as if backstroking. Agares’ arm held my body securely, almost like a seatbelt, ensuring we remained tightly together. But suddenly, the back of my neck twitched, and something broke through the skin, burrowing its way in, like a tiny spider crawling over my spine. I immediately turned my head, and through the turbulent seawater, I vaguely saw a dark object darting lightning-fast into Agares’ ear.

“No!” I immediately sensed something was terribly wrong. Instinctively, I tried to slap the back of his head, but Agares suddenly shook violently, releasing his tight grip on my arm. His webbed claws shot open, and he drove his sharp nails deep into the devilfish’s body. In an instant, the devilfish reacted as if it had been stimulated, leaping out of the water like a startled wild horse. I acted quickly, grabbing onto its tail, preventing myself from being thrown off. However, Agares, in a single leap, dove into the sea and, like a spring machine, flipped over and floated on the water’s surface.

“Agares!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, feeling as if a thousand arrows had pierced my heart, my throat almost bleeding from it. Controlling Agares was Levjet’s ultimate goal, and what he did to me was nothing more than a smoke bomb! Damn it, he must have already conspired with the humans on a plan to deal with Agares! 2JVqwi

I immediately tried to rush over and save Agares, but the large devilfish’s tail wrapped tightly around my waist, and in the blink of an eye, it carried me hundreds of metres away. I stared with wide eyes as dozens of helicopters circled and converged toward Agares. Their searchlights pierced the night fog like countless ice picks, making him look like a dying patient struggling on an operating table under the glare of surgical lights. When a large metal net descended from the sky, covering Agares and carrying him into the air, my chest ached as if it were about to burst.

Don’t I possess the ancestral genes of the merfolk now? Don’t I have a pair of dorsal fins that can soar into the sky? So, what reason do I have to watch my beloved being taken away?

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

I fiercely yanked the tail of the devilfish, forcing it to slow down and imitated Agares’ way of controlling it to change its direction. Seizing the moment when it turned, I leaped onto its back, slicing through the oncoming waves like a sharp blade in the midst of the approaching searchlights. Countless bullets rained down, resembling a thunderstorm with flashes of lightning.

I didn’t know if I was injured; I couldn’t hear any sound or feel any fear. The thought of saving Agares filled my mind, making me explode at an astonishing speed like a torpedo. I saw the spotlight of the leading helicopter just inches away; it was directly above me, towing the metallic net that trapped Agares, trying to take him away from me forever. KMPx1U

I clenched my teeth, tightened my dorsal fin, and rode a high wave, soaring into the sky like an eagle spreading its wings to pounce on the underside of a helicopter. With a mighty roar, I grabbed onto one end of its tail. In an instant, the entire helicopter descended because of my weight. I was dangerously close to sliding off. I summoned all my strength to make one final leap, clutching onto its elongated tail. The propellers were spinning dangerously close to my back, and I immediately felt the intense pain of my dorsal fin being broken. The plane tilted, swaying left and right. I could vividly feel my blood gushing from my back, whipped onto my face and body by the swirling winds, accompanied by silver fragments that belonged to my dorsal fin.

My teeth were grinding loudly, veins pulsating on my forehead. My intense desire to rescue Agares kept me from relaxing my efforts, and I struggled to crawl forward. Finally, I grabbed hold of one of the rotor blades’ supports, swaying my body until I reached the window on the side of the aircraft. Suddenly, a face I wasn’t unfamiliar with appeared in my view, and the person, equally stunned, stared back at me, clearly taken aback by my unexpected appearance in the sky.

“Rhine! Shoot quickly and knock him down!” At this time, I heard a sharp woman’s voice coming through the glass.

Should I say it is fate’s mysterious arrangement? How coincidental, how fitting. It’s as if fate has brought my enemy back into my hands through the twists and turns of another dimension! D461wn

“Go see God, you damn bastards!”

Before they could draw their guns, I kicked the glass in, rushed inside, and grabbed their necks, ruthlessly slamming them hard against the seats. In an instant, I felt an indescribable surge of heat exploding from my blood like a nuclear bomb, spraying out of every pore. The next moment, the scales on my legs seemed to vibrate rapidly like countless small generators, emitting a blinding blue light all around me. For a moment, the two people in front of me hadn’t even had time to scream before violently convulsing. Then a deafening boom echoed through the cabin, and a thick black smoke rose from all around, plummeting straight into the sea!

A strong sense of weightlessness filled my body momentarily, momentarily diluted by the surrounding seawater. The aircraft rapidly sank into the sea. The faces of Rhine and Sakarol, charred like coal, appeared before my eyes, startling me. I struggled to escape the cabin, as if finally breaking free from the hatred and nightmares that had haunted my heart, leaving them far behind in the years I could never return to, sinking into the depths of the sea.

After swimming for a few metres, I saw the metal net enveloping Agares sinking down. I rushed towards Agares like an arrow released from a bowstring, anxiously trying to untie the damn thing that entangled him, but I couldn’t pull it apart. So, I sank into the depths of the sea with him. ERHmMx

In the mottled water light, his silver hair gently floated in the seawater. I brushed it aside from his cheeks and saw him quietly with his eyes open, pupils dim and lifeless, like a stagnant swamp. His skin was cold and stiff, as if a corpse that had long since died, a plaster-cast statue that would soon join the wreckage swallowed by the sea, becoming a forgotten underwater ruin.

My love.

“Agares, wake up! Agares! I am Desharow. I am here, and I swear, I will never leave you!”

The suffocating sense of panic was like the pressure of seawater squeezing into my brain from all sides. I shouted loudly, but only a muffled low cry escaped my throat. I held onto his body tightly, frantically searching behind his neck. Immediately, I felt a small protrusion, and that thing started moving beneath his skin like a startled bird. KpbG26

In an instant, my reflexes were as quick as lightning. I slapped hard on his shoulder, and bit it hard like a wolf dog being approached. My teeth penetrated the thick and tough flesh of Agares, and that thing started to twist as if it wanted to slip into my mouth. I clenched my jaw tightly, and with my newly formed fangs, I pinned it in the gap between my teeth. I suddenly raised my neck, pulled it out, then spat it.

A few moments after this electric moment, Agares’ body shuddered. I hastily cradled his face and saw him blink. In his long, previously hazy eyes’ lens, a gleam of life emerged. His scattered gaze gradually focused on me. His complexion changed slightly, and he immediately pushed me away a few inches. He swung his long and powerful black fishtail a few times, breaking free from the constraints of the metal net. Then, he extended his webbed claw and pulled me into his embrace.

I hugged Agares’ neck and almost cried with tears of joy, but I knew that now was not the appropriate time to vent my emotions.

Agares embraced my waist, closed his eyes, and began to spin in the water, as if dancing with me. His silver hair twisting and floating in the seawater like I had seen before, shimmering with specks of blue light, much like the tentacles of a deep-sea jellyfish. 2WuRD0

In an instant, I saw an immensely massive whirlpool rising from below, and at the same time, from the distance, I caught sight of a vast wave of countless dark shadows sweeping towards us. Gradually, I realised that it was an assembly of numerous mermaids, swimming together in groups. They sensed Agares’s call and gathered around us, as if a hundred birds returning to their nest.

At this moment, a familiar silver figure leaped into view from the layers of shadows, and I couldn’t help but grab Agares’s arm. As the silver figure drew closer, I could see that Levjet was surrounded by dozens of loyal bluetails, gazing at us with a gloomy expression, seemingly bitter that his plot had failed. Asura was right behind him, swimming directly towards Agares, stopping about a metre away from us. His head was slightly lowered, his face shrouded in a thick ink like tangles of hair, with only his sharp jaw visible.

“Be careful, he is under Levjet’s control.”

I emitted a low growl and positioned myself like a guardian in front of Agares but he pulled me behind him. I noticed one of his webbed claws hanging by his side, its sharp tips faintly shimmering with threads of blue electric light, as if holding a deadly weapon. RV1IXK

“King…” To my surprise, Asura lifted his head slightly, and one sharp black eye emerged from his dark hair, no longer devoid of light and dark as it was before. He seemed to be offering a gesture of atonement, holding up his webbed claws over his head, and in his palm lay a slender, silver-tinged creature that looked like a small eel. It was already dead, weakly floating up and down in the water.

“You dare to use the Corruptor in the King’s Nest?” Agares pinch the strange eel-like creature by the head, swimming to Levjet’s side. Levjet stared at him with wide eyes, reflecting a mixture of resentment and fear in his black eyes. I held my breath, anticipating what was coming next. As expected, Agares promptly inserted the Corruptor into Levjet’s ear. Immediately, Levjet’s body convulsed, his silver tail curled up, and eventually stiffened into a straight line.

“Then let you be consumed by it forever, and become a corrupt thing.”

Agares coldly uttered a few words, but he immediately turned to look at my face, as if worried that I might be angry with him because of Levjet. I shook my head and swam into his arms to show that I didn’t mind. HLFJYb

“It’s time to go home, Desharow.”

Agaress whispered heavily in my ear, and before I could even respond, I felt a powerful current swirling around us. The school of fish swarmed, obscuring the sky. I saw the sea surface high above us suddenly turn into a massive whirlpool, engulfing everything – ships, planes, seabirds, even the lower clouds.

The sky rumbled with thunder, and lightning streaked across it. Dark clouds loomed overhead, and in that moment, a real storm descended upon the entire ocean. When the downpour of raindrops soaked us, Agares held me close and leaped high into the air, joining all the other merfolk as we surged towards the welcoming centre of the whirlpool.

The darkness seemed to be just a brief moment, much like what I had experienced when entering the passage. Blinding white light, accompanied by howling winds, engulfed everything, as if in an instant, we had traversed countless lifetimes and traversed through numerous dimensions. Our life paths merged entirely, leaving an indelible mark in each other’s memories. Finally, it suddenly opened up to a wide panorama before our eyes—— 9yq1uQ

I once again saw the cloud-like plankton shuttle back and forth in the sky above my head, like spacecraft navigating along predetermined orbits in the vast universe. There was no sun or moon in the sky, only a layer of aurora-like ever-shifting luminous mist, and countless unknown marine creatures floated in mid-air, resembling flocks of migratory birds passing over our heads, one group after another.

The ocean floor beneath my feet was no longer the lifeless underwater tomb but a vibrant sight to behold. A spectacular underwater city lay peacefully on the seabed, resembling an enlarged Roman bathhouse. Circular walls, like glass, radiated outward from colossal glass pillars that reached up to the sky, giving the impression of a three-dimensional crop circle.

The merfolk swarmed towards the massive circular city, and at that moment, I couldn’t help but feel an inexplicable excitement at entering this entirely new world. However, perhaps it was the relief from the danger, my nerves finally relaxed, and the overwhelming fatigue accompanied by the sharp pain from my broken dorsal fin rushed over me. I covered the wound on my back, immediately feeling the remnants of a few broken bones; they were all that remained of my dorsal fin.

I gave a bitter smile as I glanced at Agares. It seemed he had just noticed the extent of my injuries, and he stared at me in disbelief. His teeth clenched, and the veins in his neck were clearly visible, indicating his inner anguish. However, his webbed fingers held me gently, pressing my head against his chest, and he kissed the back of my head, emitting a trembling, mournful sound. lUeuFP

A devilfish suddenly emerged from the water at some point, lifting Agares and me out of the water’s surface. It flapped its thin fins like a bird, carrying us towards the floating ‘clouds’ above our heads. We ascended higher and higher, as if intending to traverse that layer of aurora and reach the highest and farthest reaches of the Milky Way.

“Atlantis is so beautiful, Agares…” I leaned sideways in Agares’s arms and murmured uncontrollably.

“You will have a lot of time to appreciate this place in the future. The life of a merperson is very long. The premise is that you don’t run away from me again.” As Agares said in my ear, his tongue gently licking my neck and chin.

“Where are you taking me now, Chief?” Co5ecM

“My Mother Nest…she can repair your body, Desaro, your injuries are too serious, I can’t heal you.”

I pulled the corners of my mouth and forced a smile, “So, how long will it take for us to see each other again, Agares, how much time does the Mother Nest need to repair me?”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“No matter how long it takes, I will wait for you to come back to me. My life is long enough.” Agares whispered softly, as if in a dream.

I lifted my head and looked into Agares’ profound eyes, feeling immensely peaceful. My surroundings gradually blurred and I eventually drifted into a tranquil expanse of azure. Y1485

“Desharow…”

“Desharow…”

“Desharow…”

It was as if waking from a long-lasting nightmare. I heard a deep, familiar voice repeatedly whispering my name, gradually bringing my scattered consciousness back together, and my body began to regain sensation. I blinked my bleary eyes, looked around, and stretched out my limbs that had been curled up. Yet, it was still a dim and murky environment. I was trapped in something soft and damp, like a newborn in the womb. I attempted to move within it, searching for the source of Agares’ voice. 8BQtHV

Suddenly, a faint ray of light pierced through the darkness. I widened my eyes and swam desperately toward that direction. When I reached the tear in the chaos, a broad and powerful webbed claw gently grabbed my arm and pulled me into the light.

My whole body fell into a rock-like embrace, my body embraced gently, and the fishtail beneath me impatiently coiled around my legs, as if it wanted to weld me into his flesh and bones.

“Desharow…”

The whisper next to my ears was moist and hoarse, full of affection. Pq2Mad

I buried my head in Agares’ thick hair, bit his sashimi-like ears, and shed tears in his long-lost scent.

“I’m back, my Chief.”

I closed my eyes and said softly.

    • He did have..the mother nest had repaired his body..but years had passed. It never mention how many years but i guess Desharow should be as old as his age in chapter 1 i guess? When he first met Agares…while Agares…

Counting from 500 years old (incident in japan) then add 50 years for waiting for Desharow to be born… and reunite..then..add his age from the memory implant.. perhaps he is..over 1000+ years old..

Hope someone could tell their both exact age right now 😏😏

  1. I feel vindicated. I could not have accepted an assimilation based on rpe and violence, and it’s important that both Agares and Desharow know that’s not how it works. Also, I do not suspect, I am *sure that Desharow is going through the deepest and most indestructible Stockholm Syndrome ever, and no one can convince me otherwise, but now it’s so rooted in him that it’s become love. Whatever, if it works for them, it’s good. They are fictional.

  2. Ohhh..Omg
