Desharow MermanChapter 104

Thinking of the demon who killed me, and who appeared again along in this timeline. A strong sense of resentment and fear overwhelmed me, causing cold sweat to ooze from my back. Unconsciously, I clenched my fists tightly. Without thinking, I leaped into the water from Agares’s embrace, washing the body covered in love marks. I took several deep breaths, trying to calm down the turbulent emotions within me. However, Agares didn’t give me a chance to compose myself. His webbed claw wrapped around my waist from behind, effortlessly lifting and carrying me in his arms. I struggled slightly, and his head persistently rested on my shoulder, asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” I shook my head.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Judging by Agares’s appearance, it seemed that he didn’t expect that guy, Rhine, to reappear in this timeline and intersect with me again. Otherwise, he probably wouldn’t have survived until now. But instead of seeking revenge and rushing back, all I wanted was to stay as far away as possible. Just the thought of Rhine’s existence made me shudder with discomfort; he had become my most dreaded nightmare, the most unavoidable haze.

“What are you thinking about? You’re trembling, Desharow.” Perhaps my complexion was too ugly, as Agares’ tone also grew serious. He turned me around, placing me on top of his fishtail. Lowering his eyelids, he stared at me, his eyes squinting with a questioning look. His webbed claw lightly kneaded my waist, causing my body to suddenly become sensitive and go limp. I quickly grabbed his wrist, unable to control my breath as I said, “Damn it… don’t do this.” hrT1jC

“Then just obediently tell me what’s going on in that little head of yours.”

Agares bit my earlobe, and the spark-like tingling sensation made me shudder.

I pulled back my shoulders, evading his irresistible advances, because damn it, I could feel myself getting hard again. My body couldn’t handle doing it again (physiologically speaking, I am still a minor, and Agares, this old beast, would be committing a crime!).

“Didn’t you say you could read my mind?” I mumbled, and to my surprise, I noticed that my words seemed to have suffocated Agares.

“Do you want me to repeat what I did to you just now, Desharow…” Agares pinched my chin, brought his lips to the tip of my nose, and threatened in a low voice, “Or, did you do it on purpose? You hungry little fish…”

As he said that, he put his words into action. He grabbed one of my calves and pressed me back against the reef. That thick fishtail brushed against the inside of my thighs, causing my breath to become rapid.

“Hey, I surrender, I’ll talk, I’ll talk! Chief, please spare me!” I panicked, while covering my buttocks and hopped into the water to crouch on the reef, looking like a cat with its tail caught on fire. YH O8U

Agares tilted his head, looking down at my embarrassed state, much like a stern father’s attitude of punishing his child (if one ignored the mischievous glint in his eyes and his restless large tail behind me). He waited silently for me to confess.

“Eh… that… I was thinking… about the Navy…”

I stammered out my response, all the while feeling relieved that he couldn’t read my previous thoughts. I didn’t want even a one-in-a-million chance of experiencing a repeat of the situation that nearly killed me. Rhine was now a prominent figure in the NATO Naval Alliance. Even if I wanted revenge, I wouldn’t take risks again, and I certainly didn’t want Agares to attack a military ship in an attempt to kill Rhine, which could lead to unpredictable trouble. The English Channel was a stronghold in this war between merfolk and humans, its significance akin to that of the Normandy Beach in World War II.

If the merfolk fail to hold the narrowest area of the English Channel, allowing human warships to pass through, they will lose their occupied territory…. But on the contrary, the merfolk can control half of Europe’s throat. Now, the merfolk army led by Agares was like embarking on another Normandy landing, risking the loss of the stronghold for Rhine, which was not worth it. TKq5D9

With my high scores in military deployment courses, I thought to myself that if given the chance, I could become Agares’ military advisor.

But just how big was his ambition? Was he really going to occupy the ocean as he said?

Indeed, such a scenario would be highly impractical and could lead to unimaginable consequences—— the fires of revenge would likely never cease, given the incomprehensible military power of humans. The scars left behind by global wars continue to linger in people’s memories, with the scent of gunpowder and blood still fresh. A war between merfolk and humans would undoubtedly result in mutual destruction.

I looked into Agares’ eyes, unable to hold back my thoughts, and involuntarily voiced them, “I’ve been thinking… thinking of the naval forces’ strength that will face you in this war and analysing the situation of the conflict you’re starting. Agares, what is your… plan to do this?” U6gTKj

Agares’s eyebrows twitched slightly. He pulled me into his embrace, gazing at me with a look that seemed to have a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “No matter how powerful the human military may be, they will always be the weaker ones at sea because they don’t belong to the ocean world. Humans can only survive here with the help of tools. Without them, humans are no different from turtles with their shells removed. But we don’t need such tools,” he said with a low chuckle. Shadows of mockery and ruthlessness flickered beneath his lashes, revealing the expression of a cunning and calculating leader.

I could hear the sensuality and bloodthirstiness in his voice, “We can vanish in the sea at any time, appearing when least expected, hiding in the depths where humans cannot venture or emerging in their unprotected waters to devour and capture them. It will be the price they pay for harming the ocean and causing harm to our kind. They will become our slaves, our breeding tools. This channel… is not our ideal base, Desharow…”

He stared at me, grinning slightly. “It’s a trap. A big trap that humans can’t resist and jump into.”

My heart skipped a beat, and my breath tightened. Suddenly, a half-formed strategic map appeared in my mind. Indeed, because of the English Channel’s vital position and significance, humans would launch continuous attacks. However, the narrowest point of this channel meant that warships could only pass through one by one, which was their greatest disadvantage and the merfolk’s greatest advantage. 4A2571

So, my understanding of Agares’ deployment being compared to the Normandy landing was indeed biased, as I overlooked the merfolk’s greatest advantage—— their flexibility. Merfolk don’t need to land, and they aren’t constrained by natural factors. They only need to wait for the humans to arrogantly attack, then vanish without a trace, making the human offensive as futile as shooting into a black hole. When the humans celebrate, thinking they have retaken the channel and relax, the merfolk will quietly and stealthily capture them like a turtle in a jar.

I stared at Agares’ eyes in astonishment, and suddenly, it felt like I had touched a deeper part of his heart. To humans, Agares was undoubtedly a fearsome warlord, ambitious, cunning, aggressive, and deadly. No wonder the old veteran warned that once they attracted their leader, their entire army would be doomed. Now it seemed like that statement couldn’t have been more accurate. However, I couldn’t help but worry that Agares might one day meet the same fate as the ambitious conqueror who left an astonishing mark in human history——King Alexander the Great.

Maybe I’m thinking too much, but I don’t know why, I have a bad premonition in my heart.

“Don’t worry about me, Desharow.” Agares said as if he could see through me again. “We don’t want much—— compared to the plundering of humans. We won’t greedily devour the entire ocean; this is a long-term plan. What we need right now is to expand our population and turn this so-called naval alliance from enemies into our own kind.” g2Cpal

I was taken aback again. “But wouldn’t this lead wolves into the house? If they become our own kind, will they be loyal and devoted to you?”

“No… they will be loyal to their spouses. Indirectly be loyal to me.” Agares’ tone sounded cunning, “When a human encounters a merfolk who is a perfect match for them, it’s hard not to be enchanted. You’ve experienced this firsthand, haven’t you, Desharow?” He lowered his voice, resembling an evil incantation. His breath, like a moist and alluring mist, penetrated my nostrils, reigniting the warmth in my body that had just cooled down.

“Hey, it’s enchantment!” I exclaimed, my face turning red as I emphasised the point. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help but wrap my arms around Agares’ neck, silently admitting that it was indeed true. Unfortunately, the world’s legends only described beautiful female mermaids as seductive sea demons, but they overlooked these male sea demons, each one a veritable “mobile carrier of male hormones”, these guys were like a swarm of thirsty pests!

Agares grinned widely and chuckled. He flipped over, pinning me beneath him, and indulgently took a deep whiff of my scent before exploring my body with his hands. However, just then, a muffled sound echoed through the cave from afar, as if it were some kind of explosion. wBvmOP

My nerves jolted as I noticed Agares’ expression shift from sunny to cloudy. He released me and propped himself up towards the waterfall.

“The prey is coming.” he growled in a low voice, as if issuing a command rather than speaking to me.

I gaped in astonishment as the waterfall’s water curtain seemed to project the outside scene like a movie.

It was dawn outside, and with the gradually brightening sunlight over the sea, I could clearly see a smaller warship than Duke slowly entering the narrow channel of the strait. The warship was filled with armed sailors, tossing the high-frequency sonic cannons I had seen before into the water. However, there was not a single trace of a merfolk attacking them in the waters near the warship, and both sides of the strait were empty. I knew this was Agares’ strategy; they must have hidden away after hijacking us new recruits. BYSF9O

The two damn bastards who sent us out (I refuse to mention their names) probably thought the high-frequency cannons were truly effective in driving away the merfolk. That’s why they confidently sailed into this trap set up by the merfolk long ago. Perhaps they hadn’t realised that the merfolk were capable of strategic planning.

Hi guys, sorry for being late as I went 18th birthday shopping with my family and we came home late. I tried tp finish this chapter yesterday but a little bit was still left and I didn’t want to provide you with sloppy translations plus I also had a headache and my eye was twitching so bad. I started to feel sick too so stopped. (I guess this happens when you hadn’t gotten any sunlight or gone out of your room for like 2 months literally, I just realised that I’m like those shut-ins in amine or mangas ahhhh. Plus my dear immunity which always gets me sick before anyone else.). Oh and I’ll try to post ch 105 today late or tomorrow.

  1. So happy that he’s back🥹 But Desharow mentioned a bad premonition 😭 is this foreshadowing? Won’t we have a happy ending ?😭 AHHHHHH

  2. Thanks for the chapter! Don’t worry about being late! As for the story, I think that there is some kind of a foreshadowing? Like, Desharow has a bad feeling. At the same time I’m actually pretty sad about other characters. Agares wants to use humanity as his own tool to win the war. I can see why, humanity is trash but at the same time Im actually surprised that Desharow is completely under his control/enchantment and he doesn’t think about his old friends or good people that he probably met in both of his lives. Im a little disappointed but it is not my call and there are still some secrets. Well, we’ll see how it turns out in the end (probably someone is going to die and I think it will be Agares because in other chapters there was another foreshadowing)
  3. Thanks for the new chapter! Don’t worry about being a little late, it’s more important to take care of your self.
