Once the door was shut, Shen Yu looked at Kai with inquiring eyes, his eyes were round and confused, which Kai found interesting. “Why are you staring at me with such a silly look?”
Shen Yu sniffed uncomfortably, he wasn’t exactly silly, but he also wasn’t sure of her motives. Was she there just for partnership? Or was she here to just show her face. “I am just wondering why she was here. You know her from before?”

A few minutes passed as he meditated his mind and heart, his inner self calming down inexplicably as he noticed the abundant spiritual Qi around him, swirling in the air, among the grass and flowers, inside the moisture and the sunlight. It was almost magical how this Qi went unnoticed if one wasn’t paying attention.
“Yes this is it,” Kai’s softer baritone whispered against his ear, and Shen Yu stopped himself from twitching his ear. Once he calmed down again, Kai directed, “don’t circulate the Qi just yet, or it might not work well for you. You need to absorb and release for your first step. Only absorb and release.”
Shen Yu thought he could achieve his goal at the first try but reality gave him a hard blow.
It took Shen Yu an entire day to concentrate on just grasping the Qi, not even absorbing or releasing it, just grasping the Qi was difficult in itself. So the first step was impossible to achieve that day.
Although disappointed, Shen Yu didn’t show too much reluctance when Kai took him back to their shared room, it was better to take rest and have a gap in between his practice to avoid too much emotional negativity.
