A World AssimilationChapter 1

“Brother, finish it up before father comes back,” Shen Yue whispered, her slender fingers releasing the grip on the tray handle as she kept down a plate of hot serving, most likely ordered by their mother, “don’t forget to take a walk in the woods when you feel better, it will help with digestion,” her voice was concerned.

Shen Yu accepted the tray, taking a look at the hot serving, his sister was really gentle with him, it always made his nose sore. It was rather difficult for him to share his emotions with others, so in response, he heard himself speaking rather coldly, “Care about yourself first, do you even have time to worry for others.” IZaBvX

Shen Yue though, didn’t seem to take it to heart, she most likely got the message, if her smile was anything to go by, “I am fine brother, Older brother took care of my problem.” She had matured over the years into a beautiful young lady, her upturned eyes sparkling with mirth. Even without trying, she stood out in a room full of dark interior and old wood, her presence rather bright in a dreary environment.

Shen Yu nodded curtly, it was fine if she was not in trouble.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

With a smile, Shen Yue patted his head, the care lingering even after she left the room, it was most likely the time for her afternoon classes. Shen Yu looked at the closed door with some unknown thought, and went back to his food before it got cold.

He took a second look at the tray of food which was a combination of meat and vegetables, a bowl of thick soup and noodles, with rich milk pastry on the side. Such hearty meal, it was expensive, one look at it was enough of an answer. uaQ6nb

There had been a time in the past when such delicacies were affordable to all, were even desired by abundant, but in their current civilization, majority practiced inedia, only the minority, generally they were younger kids, who were weak at their dantian or were ill like Shen Yu would desire actual food, thus this rare batch of dish in front of him was quite extravagant. It might only be a delicacy for most who liked to enrich their taste buds once in a while, but for Shen Yu it was his sole sustenance.

He looked at the Golden Ticket placed right next to his bed, the glowing texture smooth and soft, with embossed letters printed in the middle, [Golden Ticket Beholder: Shen Yu] [Code: AD678007] [Two-way ticket, Mission world/Earth]

Thanks to this ticket his value was now sky high, he was finally eating his fill, with no concern for his clan going against him. Golden Tickets were the envy of society, it was highly valued because the rewards received after completing a task in the Mission World would be unprecedented.

It not only sent transmigrators to Mission world heavy with spiritual energy but there were several other options to choose from, and worlds that were well-developed, were a study material for further development of mankind.

Eating one bite at a time to savor the taste, Shen Yu sighed with happiness, his heart singing praises. Although his expression remained restrained and reserved, as it should be in the house of Shen.

He finally could chew on something delicious, it was much better than eating nutrition pill that tasted very bitter and never filled his stomach. Eating actual food was always satisfactory, always filling.

While eating the milk dessert, Shen Yu recalled a recent yet distant memory. It reminded him of ‘that’ person, who always gave him a milk candy whenever Shen Yu did well in class, or fought back against all that bullying. In midst of hell, that milk candy was his only consolation.

The resurging memories saddened his heart, and he no longer felt any delight in eating the milk dessert. But he finished eating because he couldn’t see food getting wasted, it was a big taboo for him. A3QuN

It was a pleasant evening when Shen Yu walked out of his room, his pace slower than what could be considered normal, his back hunching as he breathed at a faster rate. But it didn’t stop him from crossing the lavishly decorated corridor, the grand hall and the green porch, to the yards of laid out pools and fountains attached to a small lake body surrounded by well-kept woods. The woodland was almost 100s of acres, sitting in between a small mountain hill and a bustling outskirt of a city.

It was calming, to find fresh air when Shen Yu wanted to get out of that house, it was a house filled with bad memories, the good ones were not enough to compensate for the bad ones. And nature always felt pleasant to look at, it didn’t scold Shen Yu for his weak dantian, or body full of impurities, it didn’t scold Shen Yu for not even completing the 1st stage of Qi Condensation. Being from a rich clan, his father had tried to cure his ill body with special pills and herbal miracles, he even went as far as exchanging precious rewards from mission worlds to get something that could enhance Shen Yu’s cultivation base, yet nothing worked, wouldn’t work until Shen Yu transmigrated to another mission world with abundant spiritual energy, the only cure for his weak absorption rate.

His father, together with the clan ruled him out right when they heard this, Shen Yu’s weak body was getting weaker with every passing year, his father and clan didn’t have the patience to work on him, or had any kindling hope for him. Such weak boy, he would never get a Ticket, that too a Golden one, ‘he wasn’t worthy’.

The pills he took always had some impurities, and due to his almost negligent aptitude for Qi circulation, it was very difficult to get rid of the impurities that were starting to accumulate in his body since birth. A longer life span and stronger body was only possible if he got his Golden Ticket, the ticket that was said to select mission worlds with high spiritual energies. uip1Pd

And now that he received one, albeit a little late, it was no less than a cure from all his predicament. His weak body couldn’t help but cheer up as Shen Yu relaxed from years of mental strain. His luck had returned and he was one step closer to his goal, that was, to help those who cared for him when he was at his lowest, people like his sisters, mother, brothers, cousins, close friends… there were even a few martial professors who taught him sincerely. And yes, that senior person, that Black Ticket Holder, the only black ticket holder of their generation.

Shen Yu had faced a lot of hardships, and he met a majority who never cared about him or even believed in him, but he did have some people on whom he had depended to pass the test of fate. He had been patient; despite his desperation he had waited for a miracle. And this Golden Ticket was his miracle.

Their world history was very rich, full of instances where the mankind had hoped for a miracle and it happened. Shen Yu also believed in such blind faith, he didn’t break apart under all the stress because of his faith. It had gotten to a point where his clan was thinking of sending him off to some distant island where he could breathe his last. His mother had fainted in anger when she heard of it being suggested in the council, yet she couldn’t do anything about it, her life was no better than his, at least he wasn’t punished for getting up late. His father was cruel at heart, so strict and narrow minded that their branch had stopped flourishing.

Gritting his teeth, he tried his best not to think too much, or else his blood pressure would increase and the impurities in his body would harm his own dantian. He had yet to take up a mission world, he was waiting for the right opportunity. It was a miracle he survived through everything. He wasn’t this ill when he was younger, but with age, the accumulation of impurities made his situation worse. YD1Fz0

He looked up at the sky, the orange glow of the sun shedding everything with an evening hue, it was strange how their world was still alive after everything that had happened in the past.

Mankind had destroyed everything, nuclear bombs and bio chemical wars were everywhere. It took no less than a few months to go into mass extinction, yet at the last moment when most were dying, their hope for survival and remorse at their own horrors had given birth to a strong will to live, and it resulted in the arrival of Universal Laws. A higher intelligence, the rules and regulations which governed their universe.

Universal Laws tinkered with time and space, bringing back a new Earth to life and giving hope to mankind. It stipulated new Laws of Life, a path which would lead to further development, not destruction. There were restrictions and rules, and their new Dao of life was to follow the path of Cultivation.

At present, there was no religion nor custom, but everyone maintained a strict faith in Universal Laws, and worshiped the land they lived in, there was minimal disturbance to all walks of life, may it be flora or fauna, the biosphere was in balance this time, and nobody was willing to disturb it, not if they wanted to get abolished, or had a crazy mindset. gxKRh8

With time, mankind spread its forces to other habitable planets. Based upon the mapping of the Milky Way, and through simulations, there were estimations of 300 billion planets that might support life in their Milky Way galaxy. And space travelers, immortals in general, were hell-bent on finding which ones might harbor life. Their galactic neighborhood may be bustling with other worlds, but a new study estimated that a 100 million of those 300 billion planets had chances of having the right ingredients for life.

So, it took a few centuries to spread life to other planets and make pact with those who were willing to form an alliance. All this was possible because of Universal Laws and the existence of Mission Worlds, worlds which granted access to spiritual energy that could support mankind’s cultivation to immortality.

It wasn’t easy to complete missions, several died during the mission phase and it was known that many chose to stay in mission world to pursue romance and a different life style. Because going to mission world wasn’t just a soul transmigration, it was a full body Assimilation. cgvrHL

“Shen Yu! Father is calling you, he is back from the council meeting,” Shen Yu’s older brother, Shen Bo, called out from a distance, disturbing Shen Yu’s fragile peace.

“Coming,” but Shen Yu was helpless, he had to see his father if he wanted to know what their clan had decided. He instinctually felt that the father-son meeting was going to end with an argument.

A/N – A few terms to look out for. T4h15W

Cultivation – the process of improving health, increasing longevity, and growing powerful. This is accomplished by cultivating Qi and training in martial & mystical arts. But since Milky Way Galaxy has only a limited amount of Spiritual energy suitable for cultivation, many aspiring cultivators would choose to gather Spiritual energy from Mission Worlds that are present in other galaxies.

Qi/Spiritual energy – the vital energy which exists in all things, the natural energy of the world.

Cultivation Method – a mystical art or collection of techniques which cultivators practice in order to cultivate.

Cultivation Base – the amount or capacity of refined Qi possessed by a cultivator. EdSnlK

Manual – a book containing detailed instructions on training in a cultivation method or martial arts style. Usually regarded as extremely valuable and thus kept secret (or at least, not made publicly available).

Spiritual Roots – the very foundation (roots) of one’s body and soul. Associated with a person’s innate talent and elemental affinities. Cultivation usually requires some minimum level of innate talent, and many people find it impossible to even take the first step. Rare individuals may even have special Spiritual Roots which allow them to cultivate quickly or grant them other benefits. For example, someone with “fire spiritual roots” might learn fire spells more easily than their peers.

Inedia – the claimed ability for a person to live without consuming food, and in some cases water.

Dantian – Refers to the region in the body where a person’s Qi is concentrated. The lower dantian is located three finger widths below and two finger widths behind the navel. 14603C

Meridians – the network of vessels/channels in the body through which Qi flows. Like blood vessels, but for Qi instead of blood.

Qi Circulation – the act of controlling Qi to flow from the dantian, through the meridians, and back into the dantian in a cycle. Usually it helps replenish stamina, purify the Qi, or strengthen the meridians.

Bottleneck – the term for when cultivators figuratively hit a wall in their training and it suddenly becomes incredibly difficult to proceed. When they reach a bottleneck, cultivators may require new Insights, the aid of medicinal pills, or even harsher training in order to make a Breakthrough and successfully bypass the bottleneck.

Impurities – usually described as a smelly, black substance which is secreted from a cultivator’s skin when they reach new cultivation stages or consume special medicinal pills. The result of the body purifying itself and expelling the waste. X0GqwP

Qi Deviation – A state wherein the cultivation base becomes dangerously unstable, causing internal damage to the body and symptoms of psychosis. People who succumb to their Internal Demons, who practice cultivation/martial arts incorrectly, or who rashly use forbidden arts are all at risk of falling into this state.

Demonic Path – A Shadow path – usage of moonlight – pact with demonic creatures – pact with demonic spells/dark spells – usage of blood and shadow – cultivation practiced at night – follows strict hierarchy – easier to climb up ranks but difficult to maintain

Righteous Path – A Light Path – usage of sunlight – pact with beasts of light – pact with angelic spells/light spells – usage of goodwill/merit and lighthood – cultivation practiced during daytime – does not follow hierarchy very strictly – difficult to climb up ranks but easier to maintain

~~~~~~ Level/ranks in Cultivation ~~~~~~ h2bK4c
Qi Condensation stage – has 3 stages – An initial stage of cultivation which involves absorbing Qi from the natural world and refining it inside the body.
1st Stage Qi Condensation – Life span – 50-60 years – weak body – easily affected by Impurities – Weak Dantian and Meridians
2nd Stage Qi Condensation – Life span – 70-80 years – weak body – easily affected by Impurities – Weak Dantian and Meridians – can use spiritual weapons – Can start practicing Inedia from here on
3rd Stage Qi Condensation – Life span – 100-120 years – easily goes into Qi Deviation – Difficulty in Qi circulation/susceptible to overloading of Dantian and Meridians – Bottleneck stage – too volatile a stage to use spiritual weapons, but practicing martial arts is possible since body is stronger and will heal faster – the stage which differentiates into either the demonic path or the righteous path – The deciding stage  EGtRgu
Foundation Establishment – 4th stage – The stage after Qi Condensation. Once a cultivator’s Qi crosses a certain threshold (in the volume and/or density of the Qi), they’ll be able to breakthrough to this stage – Life span – 150-170 years – stronger body, senses become sharper – not affected by impurities – Stronger Dantian and Meridians – Easy Qi circulation –  can use spiritual weapons and practice martial arts – pact with 1 demonic creature/beast of light possible
Core Formation – has 2 stages – The stage after Foundation Establishment. It involves forming a Golden Core (jīndān) by using the Dantian as a crucible and the Cultivation Base as raw material.
5th Stage Core Formation – Life span – 200-300 years – strong body and sharper senses– easier to Qi Deviate – stronger Dantian and Meridians – pact with 2-3 demonic creatures/beasts of light possible – possible to handle dark/light spells – can practice spiritual weapons and martial arts
6th Stage Core Formation – Life Span – 500-600 years – very strong body and very sharp senses – less chances of Qi Deviation – stronger Dantian and Meridians – Pact with 5-6 demonic creature/beasts of light can be handled – can handle dark/light spell – can practice spiritual weapons and martial arts – bottleneck stage wh6nes
Immortal Ascension – 7th stage – the Soul can travel outside the body – the body will stop ageing – death can only come to those who willingly destroy their core or are murdered by using immortal Destruction weapon – they cannot travel through time, the dimension of time can only be disturbed by the Universal Laws but they can choose to form a pact with the Universal Laws which can grant them free access to any space and any world dimension – they can ascend to higher dimension- they can use weapons, martial arts, spells and have pact with multiple beasts and creatures.
  1. Friendly tip: It would be easier to make a glossary for all the cultivation terms, then you can also add additional terms that appear later.
    Also, this start is intriguing, it makes people wonder about Shen Yu’s relationship with others and especially: What does that Black Ticket mean? Really curious!Thank you for the chapter!
  2. This is a really fresh take in all trangsmiration books!
    Usually the original setting is MC from Modern earth to world hop other worlds but here. Its the cultivation world in original!!. Too excited for the fun that’s gonna come around.
    Thank you for the pick of this novel!!
    😍
  3. quick question… is this like a fixed concept, or does it vary from person to person/novel to novel…? I’m asking because I’m new to cultivation novels and I want to just memorize this for later use.
  4. Honestly, I like the world-building philosophy and concept. It looks very promising. Though some readers would comment about the information dump, I don’t mind it at all.
