He can’t read, but was reading the newspaper… automatically knows slang and modern speech patterns, but doesn’t know any of the scientific material… Isn’t shocked or horrified by modern inventions, and even somehow understands a modern novel enough to comprehend that he ‘transmigrated’ into one… everything is inconsistent and illogical so far. Even a small novel needs a reliable plot and progression of logic! Hopefully, it gets better after this.

  25. Hahaha, Lingqing is so adorable. This school scene made think of that other danmei. It’s also a transmigration but, in an interstellar-cooking setting. His also placed in the lower class and the classmate don’t have any courage to study and have a rival in a higher section. Yeah, also a face slapping one… anyways just reminiscing. Kinda miss reading that… maybe I should re-read it if I have time.
