Voice Of Another ChanceChapter 25

Kishi Touma was standing quite a distance away, but it was impossible for the other two not to recognize him. He had been waiting in front of the building and was now walking slowly towards them. Each step was taken leisurely and unhurriedly, as if he was on a stroll. His demeanor overflowed with self-assurance and his deep voice oozed with confidence.

“I came to speak to Sato.” p3j1zx

These words were clearly addressed to Sato, but instead it was Kyosuke who reacted first.

“Excuse me?! What gives you the right to show up here like this and demand to talk to him? After all you’ve done… You should be kneeling in front of him and begging for forgiveness, not requesting anything! You cheap bastard!”

“Kyosuke…”

Sato tried to pull him by the arm in order to stop him, but Kyosuke yanked himself away. Taking a few strides towards Touma, he stopped and glared fiercely at the man. He looked like an angry feline with its fur sticking on end. JtM1Yd

Meanwhile, Touma continued to appear rather composed, as if he didn’t notice the unconcealed loathing Kyosuke was displaying towards him. The only sign of emotion that could be seen on his face was the slight tremble in his eyes.

As his gaze landed on Sato, he felt the shock of an electric current and his chest instantly tightened. Anger, sorrow, longing and regret… all the negative feelings he had reigned in until that moment surged all at once. They formed a tsunami of emotions, causing his heart to sink just like a small boat under the pressure of a roaring ocean.

Despite Touma’s inner turmoil, however, his outward appearance was that of a man who came with a purpose and wouldn’t leave before he achieved it; stubborn, cold and unyielding. In those moments, he employed all his acting abilities in order to keep a tight rein on his emotions, not letting anything show in his voice.

“Can we talk?” he asked Sato, without sparing Kyosuke a single glance.

Being so blatantly ignored, made Kyosuke’s already short temper suddenly combust. His hands clenched into fists and his body began to tremble violently. It was the sign of an imminent storm.

“I’m not leaving until I get a chance to explain what happened back then.” Ayn0dE

“No matter what happened, it’s all in the past now.” Sato shook his head slowly. His face betrayed sadness, but his mind was oddly unshaken.

In the face of this adamant refusal, Touma could only grit his teeth. He never thought Sato could show such firmness. He had no idea that the only thing keeping Sato’s mask of calmness in place was the worry he felt for his best friend.

“You hear that? He doesn’t want to speak to you. So, scram!” Kyosuke bit out from behind Sato.

“You stay out of this, Kyosuke!” Touma finally couldn’t control his temper and raised his voice. “This is between me and him. It has nothing to do with you!” ypfTZS

“NOTHING TO DO WITH ME?” Kyosuke bellowed, looking like a raging bull. “It has everything to do with me; with all three of us! That night when you betrayed Sato, you betrayed our friendship as well. You threw away years of friendship for what? For a role in a movie? I hope it was worth it!” Kyosuke spit out like a venomous snake.

“Yes, it was. It was worth it. I needed that part… badly.”

Touma’s voice was icy. As he continued to stare at them, a strange glint slowly appeared in his eyes. At the same time, a scorching flame rose inside his chest, causing his expression to become slightly distorted.

The unexpected coldness of his voice made Sato flinch. Even though he had already guessed there was a reason behind Touma’s decision to betray him, having the man confirm it himself pricked his heart like a needle. ZgyYc

“Then there is nothing left to say about it.” Sato spoke quietly.

“But you have to know why. Sato, please listen to me. I need you to understand.” Touma shifted his attention towards him and beseeched. His previous expression changed into a pleading one at the speed of light.

“And if I understand… What then? What do you think will happen after you finish your explanation?”

“Then… Then I…” JCgNrO

“Touma.” Sato interrupted him resolutely. “After all is said and done, it doesn’t change the fact that we arrived at this point based on our own choices. Nothing we say now can change what already happened. So, why waste time discussing an unchangeable and painful past?”

With that, he turned around, expressing his intention of leaving.

“Sato!” Touma called out to him, his voice sounding almost desperate. “At least let me apologize for that night. You know, that night I… I didn’t mean to. It was an accident.”

“ACCIDENT?!” Kyosuke roared like he had finally gone mad. “You call that an accident?! Do you have any idea what shape he was in when he got home? Fuck it! There were broken ribs and even his legs were badly hurt. And that wasn’t even everything. While his body was lying hurt on a hospital bed, his mind was in shambles. He…” ju9BaD

“Kyosuke, that’s enough!” Sato called out, his worn-out voice carrying a subtle trace of warning.

“NO!” Kyosuke whipped around and shouted at Sato. “This time I’m not shutting up! This guy needs to know what he’s done!”

Then, he turned back to face Touma. Hot fury leaked from his eyes as he stared at the other man.

“Because of a bastard like you, he ended up closing himself up for months. I was at my wit’s end trying to help him regain some form of vitality. While he looked as though his soul had flown away, you were prancing around, starring in dramas and movies. And you come here now, looking all righteous, demanding for him to hear you out?! Don’t you have any shame left in that rotten body of yours?!” 9uEpU

Touma lowered his head, feeling this violent rebuke resonating with his own guilty conscience. His voice came out weak, sounding nothing like before. It was as if all that previous display of confidence was nothing more than an act; a big fat lie displayed to fool others, as well as himself.

“I was wrong. I know that. But back then… I didn’t have a choice.”

Hearing this, Sato turned his head and stared at him strangely. After a few seconds, he gave his final answer.

“Even so, you have to live with the consequences of your actions, Touma. It’s the only thing we humans can do really. We make choices, then live with the outcome.” jZutcm

These words fell with the weight of a mountain, landing on top of Touma’s head and rendering him speechless. He struggled to retort but his mind had gone blank. Try as he might, there simply wasn’t anything he could say to that.

Should he say that he was genuinely sorry? That he now regretted his decision? But even if he did, how would that change anything? Just like Sato said, the past had already happened and there was nothing he could do to undo it.

As he left, Touma recounted in his mind the events of that fateful day. That time, he had been at a crossroad, one which eventually altered his entire life. If he made a different decision that night, would things be different now?

  1. Even if Touma has a valid reason for betraying Sato, it doesn’t matter.

I mean if he had told Sato then that he needed the role, Sato the love idiot would have given it up for him.

But no, Touma had to hit him, break his acting spirit and ruined his acting career by lieing Sato went to a gay bar plus the monster outed Sato without his consent.

I love what Sato said “we all have a choice, and we must live with our choice consequences”.

I think Touma broke Sato spirit cause he doesn’t want to be a “second choice” in the movie industry since Sato is a fabulous actor. And now that his position is secured as the “number one”, he wants Sato back which is selfish.

    That’s my opinion though 😉

    Thanks for the update

    • It’s true…touma thinks that now he became famous so all the things will revolve in his hands …at that time at the rage of becoming famous this bastard choose to give up sato in a wicked way and now he wants him back huh ..Dream on !!😤

      Thanks for the chapter btw

      💞

    • Your opinion is really spot on 😉 Touma did act selfishly, and he is a selfish person even now. But we’ll have to wait and see what happens next 😉

  2. Whatever reasons he had, he hurt Sato! And now he wants him back?! Touma is so shameless! 😤 Anyways, Asakura has to hurry up and get Sato‘s heart before that guy gets in the way!

Thank you for the chapter (๑°꒵°๑)・*♡

  3. Biggest scum. How dare he go and demand to talk. He had a reason? He needed that role? Well you got it- buddy- and lost everything else. Too bad.

I am glad Kyosuke didn’t stay quiet and let him know how much he fucked up.

Sato- be smart and stay away.

    Thanks for the chapter <3

    • Mn, he thought his reasons excused his behavior. He might regret it now, but it is too late, isn’t it? 😣
And Kyosuke isn’t the kind to stay quiet for long.
