Agreed on the title. ‘Catching wind’, in my experience, usually means starting, or taking off. A ship ‘catches wind’ to set sail, a kite ‘catches wind’ to take flight, etcetera. I would assume it refers to Qiu Yu starting his experience as a professional player by arriving and settling into the team’s headquarters.
I checked mdbg and another translation dictionary and they translated 接风 to “hold a welcome dinner/banquet” – so maybe “welcome dinner” for short?
