The equipment did not disappoint him, they really were amazing and gave additional points for general skills and special abilities!

Unfortunately, increasing the 【LEVEL】 of a quality equipment Red growth Diamond was not easy, on the contrary, it was extremely expensive and complicated.

However, these two pieces of equipment could still be useful up to 「LEVEL 20」. Until then, maybe Choe Ho would have become strong or rich enough to be able to afford to increase the 【LEVEL】 of the equipment. Well, he could dream, right?

「LEVEL – 0」AYANA’S DRAGON SCALED GLOVES – DIAMOND 【RED QUALITY >>>> Growth equipment. Exclusive equipment of the Fairy race. Bound to the player Choe Ho. Untransferable. Increases luck, agility, and proficiency by +30 points. Part of the 「GODDESS AYANA」set, the Fairy’s race creator.【EQUIPPED】 tTZmrV

「LEVEL – 0」AYANA’S FOREHEAD CROWN – DIAMOND 【RED QUALITY】 >>>>>> Growth Equipment. Exclusive equipment of the Fairy race. Bound to the player Choe Ho. Untransferable. Increases intelligence and perception by +30 points. Part of the「GODDESS AYANA」set, the Fairy’s race creator.【EQUIPPED】

【Ayana’s Dragon Scaled Gloves】were fingerless, elbow-length gloves made of black and dark blue metallic dragon scales. When Choe Ho concealed the equipment’s red aura, the gloves suddenly looked like ordinary, expensive-looking goods. It didn’t appear like a diamond outfit.【Ayana’s Forehead Crown】was a silver Celtic-styled forehead crown with white topaz and seemed to have a sacred aura. Obviously, Choe Ho had to conceal the equipment’s aura, since it would’ve been like a target in his head, and it wouldn’t be good at all.

Choe Ho was quite naive, thinking that he’d soon recover the diamonds, but it had been two months and he still hadn’t recovered them. In a normal RPG game, the increase of 【LEVEL】 was not so complicated for new players but would get more difficult the more you increased your 【LEVEL】.

However, in the game 「Valiant Hearts」, the difficulty of raising the 【LEVEL】 was immense, which made everything more interesting. Of course, if you strengthen your equipment and buy special items, increasing the general skill’s points, then raising the 【LEVEL】 was not an invincible barrier.

A 「LEVEL 5」 player could defeat a 「LEVEL 10」  monster, so 【LEVEL】 wasn’t an issue. Unfortunately, in real life… Well, that would be insane. After all, Choe Ho would be risking his life facing terrifying monsters and trying to win, how could his life be worth a few 「EXP」 points?

Anyway, Choe Ho had bought a donkey that cost only a few hundred silver. Later on, he had also bought equipment for the donkey, rations, and two golden apples. fxYsb9

The excited donkey had been named Geulei[1] because it had gray fur and looked slightly silly. Anyway, it was better than naming it idiot or something like that. Choe Ho wasn’t really good with names.

The golden apple’s purpose was to help raise the 【LEVEL】 of the mule so that its speed would be faster. Geulei rose from 「LEVEL 0」to 「LEVEL 10」 quickly, there were no changes in its appearance, but its speed and strength grew tremendously. It wouldn’t be strange if Geulei could carry something as heavy as an elephant while maintaining a speed of 4 km per minute.

“Even a donkey can【LEVEL】so easily, but I find myself in this situation!” thought Choe Ho as he watched Geulei, who was snorting as if it were satisfied with itself.

The system made it clear to Choe Ho that until he reached 「LEVEL 10」, no potion or pill that increased a player’s【LEVEL】would have an effect on him. The system stated that Choe Ho had to conquer everything on his own because that would be a crucial point if he wanted to survive in the future. QSv1MJ

However, the system had tricked him so many times that he felt that the system was somehow lying to him. Unfortunately, he didn’t even find any prescriptions that could increase his【LEVEL】, let alone potions or pills. So, he could only bite the bullet [2] and【LEVEL】bravely. How unfortunate was it that he, as an alchemist, couldn’t even use potions for himself!

“Is Mister Big Smile going out again?” asked a sentry from the West gate, giving Choe Ho a good-natured smile.

“Yes, Maurice-Hyung. This time I’m going to take around four days to get back. I’m heading towards Chul Village, do you want me to get something for you from there?” Choe Ho asked.

There weren’t many people coming in or out of the West gate at this time of the morning, but many workers would pass through the gate at noon, and traders would arrive at dusk, making the place busier as they prepared for the evening fair. yzI0Vx

“The fruits there are very good, but recently there have been some strange rumors about man-eating monsters prowling around the village. You should be careful… I hope you are taking the Routh Herb [3]. I heard it’s a useful herb that can protect you from the monsters.” Maurice seemed worried, and his colleague agreed with him, looking at Choe Ho with sympathy.

“Oh? Where can I find this herb? I haven’t seen it in town.” Choe Ho said, knowing this was like one of the countless tips of a game. But this seemed like a very important tip. And only this tip already showed the increase of goodwill of the people of the city.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

“The herb can be found at the entrance of Villa Chul, it looks like common grass, except that it has small pink flowers. You can try to make a repellent with it if you ask the village healer for the recipe or just pay for the repellent. But if you’re out of money, you can just carry the herb with you and hope the monsters are scared away.”

He knew that Mister Big Smile was a gentle alchemist and capable doctor who helped the people of the city without charging anything, so he said everything he knew about Routh Herb to help the chubby fairy with beautiful sapphire eyes. 7BH4IG

Mister Big had arrived in town a few weeks ago and had helped many people, curing diseases that had been incurable so far. The priests of the city only healed the nobles and the city’s trustees too only cared for important people, such as merchants and civil servants.

The alchemists of the city were all elite people who were part of Seoul University, while doctors were part of the doctors’ guild, which was also considered an elite force, and only Mister Big Smile was willing to help everyone without charging anything. This increased Mister Big Smile’s fame in the city, and the goodwill of citizens, even some public servants, towards him also increased.

Mister Big Smile was plump and short, but no one despised him for it, and despite his flushed and a bit perspiring appearance, Mister Big Smile had a cheerful smile and a clear gentle look, which made people feel in a good mood and at ease.

Choe Ho, unaware of the city’s people gratifying feelings, thanked the sentry, Maurice, and promised to bring fruits for him and his friends… if he came back alive. He climbed on Geulei’s back and left with a heart full of optimism. gN9Bjy

An unknown amount of time later, Choe Ho and Geulei stood in front of Chul Village, a small village with a solid, tall wooden fence. In front of this solid wooden fence was a beautiful lawn, adorned with flowers and a strange type of grass with small, beautiful pink flowers.

Choe Ho took care of things quickly, collecting ten stems from the Routh Herb and entering the village. He gave a few bronze coins to the village healer, who then gave him the recipe. The plump omega even gave a few silver coins so the healer would give him five repellents made from the stems of the Routh Herb he had collected earlier.

【Congratulations, You Have Acquired the Item Low-Level Monster Repellent. 】

【Because Of This, You Have Managed to Unlock the Apprentice Alchemist Scroll. 】 tr4D0c

【The Scroll Can Only Be Redeemed with Francine, The Master Alchemist, At Seoul University In Chooe-He City. 】

Choe Ho only missed clapping when he saw the warning above the village healer’s head. Initially, he had bought the 「Alchemy And Medicine Skill Book」to absorb rudimentary knowledge of the area. This made him into an Alchemist and Junior Doctor, and now that he could have an Apprentice Alchemist’s Scroll that would make his life easier, he would create better quality potions and sell well… Maybe in future missions, he could even go to the mercenaries and ask them for help.

Author’s Notice:
1. I changed the names of the characters because the names that I chose in some way I hit on names prohibited and offensive to two ethnicities.
2. My sincere apologies for this mistake. Thank you for letting me know.
3. For everyone to know, Gae means >>> servant, slave, these days it is synonymous with humiliation. No one would put their child’s name or surname like that. 3.1 Gook is an offensive term for Filipinos and Japanese, an English term used in the Koreas War.
4. Therefore, Gae Ho became Choe Ho. And Nan Gook became Nan Jeong. There may be changes in the names in the future.

Editor Notes: TXdm4O

[1] – 그레이 (Geulei) is the Korean word for Gray. So basically, Choe Ho named the donkey Gray. ╮ ( ̄ω ̄;)╭

[2] – Bite the bullet, meaning “To do or accept something difficult or unpleasant.”

[3] – Routh Herb, the Author said it was based on Lemongrass or Lemon Balm. Here’s an image provided by our beautiful Author ヽ(・∀・)ノ:

  1. I was wondering why the name change. I googled and didn’t see it mean any offensive term. I just found actual, real people named Gae Ho… weird.Anyway! I love Choe Ho! He’s adorable and helpful and makes people instinctively like him. Thanks for the chapter <3

  2. Legit want his red equipment bc I’m severely lacking in all of those qualities 😩 (Also, I did not know “Gae” meant that… i thought it was used in many people’s names too? o-o) Thanks for the chapter! 🙂

  3. so, to clear this up

그(gu) 레(rae) 이(i) is how Koreans WRITE the ENGLISH

word “gray” because they dont write in Latin letters…

as a person learning Korean it feels very weird to see an English transcript to Korean and back to English…. Version. oof.

  4. I LOVE this~

I’m a sucker for fantasy magic setting!!!

Also, apocalypse and interstellar transmigration~ UGHHHHHH

SO MANY TO CHOOSE BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVES!!!!!

  5. I think you should do more research on the korean language and the culture if you’re going to write this story with actual korean people? It’s a good story however I’m a bit put off with the ignorance of the korean language?

The donkey Geulei is how we speak or write the ‘english grey’ in korean. Like just think of it as saying grey with a korean accent. But grey in korean is

    회(grey) 색(colour).

You can call the donkey ‘Hwae-ya’ as ‘ya’ is added to be more affectionate. But if you want to keep Geulei that’s fine.

But when you wrote ‘그레이’, it’s Geurei instead of with the ‘L’. ‘글레이’ would be Geulei due to the double ‘ㄹ’. Hope this helps.

Anyways, I appreciate your previous corrections and acknowledgement of your mistakes. Not a lot of authors do that and they proceed to completely butcher the language and culture. Like how Hollywood does to some movies in the past that included asian culture yet it was inaccurately depicted and disrespected.

Thank you for the hard work and I hope you keep on producing these beautiful work! I also hope I wasn’t too harsh on you too. I think your story is interesting!

You should try using Papago! I personally think it’s better than google translate.

    Good luck!
