I need to explain here that the Crown Princes in ancient China are usually appointed by generation. In Chinese, Xiao Qirui was actually appointed as the Huang Taisun and not the Taizi (Crown Prince). If only a Huang Taisun is appointed, then the succession is supposed to skip a generation, i.e. when the current Emperor dies, his grandson takes the throne. However, an Emperor can actually appoint both a Taizi and a Huang Taisun, which means that he has determined the succession for two generations after his death. Here, it’s not clear in the circumstances whether the Chunde Emperor meant to determine the succession for two generations or wanted his restoration of Xiao Chengjun to displace Xiao Qirui’s Huang Taisun appointment such that Xiao Chengjun could determine his own successor.

Wow that was an amazing ride… I am commenting on all thise battles and coronation and all…. it was like I experienced the battle myself…. the writing was descriptive and the translation touched my heart…. I was so tensed until I saw Xiao Chengjun was reappointed as the crown Prince…. I am so happy…. I felt it when Lou Jing said that he had fought a long lasting fight to win the throne finnally and become the Emperor…. I am so happy that Empress Ji Zhou could be with Xu Che… they had paid a lot so that finnally the younger generation could achieve success…. I wish if I could see what happened to the third Prince too… And finally Rui’erthe the icing of the cake…. he’s so cute asking for Lou Jing 😍😍😍 All in all the translation was great and the story is even greater….
