Translator's Note

This is the word Lou Jing needs to write: 倭寇. It’s pretty hard and isn’t a commonly used word.

Translator's Note

A scholarly title given to the person with the best score in the Imperial Examinations. It’s very prestigious.

  1. Thanks for the chapter! So, he asked for the soldiers to return to camp after creating a mess for the naughty official, then once he got them back, he is sending them back in his name? My brain is too tired for this. I probably look like those soldiers scratching their heads.

  2. Ahahaha, I didn’t completely understand this either 😅. The only thing I got out of it was Lou Jing is making trouble for the Jiangzhou Prefectural Governor by having him get tagged in all the refugee problems. If there was anything else, it went way above my head.

  3. Wow Lou Jing is the best…. his scheming mind is unparalleled…. ah 🤩

That was cute 😍 seeing the couple bickering and doing work….

Not again… Min Wang and Luo Jing are apart again… sad sometimes 😞

    Thanks for the chapter 💖

  4. Even if I understood what was going on, this mini-theater is wonderful 😂😂 Thank You for the new chapter! ❤

  5. dongying is the name of japan in ancient china. and no… only men shaved half of their heads 🤣 anyways… i absolutely love the scheming gong !🤣 i can see him digging pits for the people who don’t know their place.

  6. It’s not that the Governor can’t complain bc then his refusal to return the troops to LJ would come to light but also bc the nr of refugees is higher than what it would have been if ppl became displaced bc of the dam breaking (which is what was reported to the Emperor by that Minister of the Right, Chen, the favoured consort’s father). If that number becomes known, the Emperor night want to look into why there’s so many refugees, then the whole matters that were orchestrated to depose the Crown prince would be made know. And, since the Governor is one of the Chen’s disciples, he obviously can’t do so.

So really, LJ isn’t just punishing the Governor for his refusal to return his troops, but also making the “Chen faction” wipe their own butt.

  7. I just can’t with the empress. That man is the sweetest, and the emperor doesn’t deserve him. He had to throw away his life being the wife of a man who disrespects him and doesn’t give him the power the empress is entitled to, only making him manage the iner court (and barely, since the emperor lets his whore do whatever she wants), but he still cares about the children he raised, protect them however he can, and truly loves them dearly, also loving the little grandchildren they gave him. He deserves someone to love him the way he deserves. Give this man Lou Jing’s second jiujiu.
