Zhu Longwang heard a voice, perhaps a few. As he looked around him, countless mirages appeared before him, all depicting different people. He wrinkled his brows, purple eyes holding confusion within them. What was this?
As he stared at each of the mirages, he didn’t know, but his heart pounded against his chest. Even if he wasn’t aware, his soul was responding to each scene.
“Immortal.”
Zhu Longwang turned around. Before him, he saw an elegant youth dressed in white. The man was thin and slender, with gentle features and soft eyes. Yet, his eyes were black, as black as the night. In his arms, a white fox laid.
“Who are you?” Zhu Longwang asked. He wasn’t sure, but he also wasn’t afraid of this man.
The man smiled, lips curving gently. “Please sit first.” Then, pausing, he seemed to see the way that Zhu Longwang at him with cold eyes. “Don’t worry, I wish you no harm.”
Zhu Longwang stood still for a few seconds before he finally walked up. He sat down opposite of the man, feeling a light breeze upon the mountain.
“I need to return. I don’t know why you’ve brought me here, but I have to return back to the mortal realm.” Zhu Longwang’s voice was cold. His purple eyes were chilled, with an expressionless face. He clenched his hands by his side, a hint of nervousness from this action. He wanted to return. He wanted to see what had happened in the mortal realm after all this time.
The man’s lips curved gently, his hand petting the fox. “I know that you are in a rush. I have some things to give to you, hence I could only stop you for a bit.” The fox in his arms stirred, yawning as it showed its canine. “Fengmian.”
The fox’s blue eyes were flickering. As it looked at the man, the fox finally jumped onto the table, closing its eyes. Between its eyes, a sharp light appeared.
Zhu Longwang watched as a small bead of light was slowly extracted from the fox, flying into the man’s open hand.
“This is the final step in sealing all the pieces of your souls together. Nectarine of Immortality, a drop of water from the Eternal Falls in Heaven, said to be the medicine for all injuries, something that can reverse death, and fix all the damage done to a body.” The man handed the small porcelain bottle to Zhu Longwang.
Zhu Longwang furrowed his brows as he stared at the bottle. “Who are you?”
The man merely smiled as he looked at Zhu Longwang, “An old friend. You don’t know me, but I know well about you. This is what I owe to both you and him, hence, I have been waiting thousands of years for this day.” The man paused as his lips trembled. Fixing his smile, his eyes turning red, he continued, “I can only hope that you two remain forever as one. After all, he sacrificed many things for you back then, and in this life, you did the same for him.”
Zhu Longwang couldn’t ignore the way the man seemed to say these words through gritted teeth. As he held the bottle in his hands, his heart wavered. But he remained calm, lifting his cold eyes as he asked, “And why should I trust you?”
The man chuckled, “It’s up to you to decide. He is waiting for you. No matter how evil I am, I will not harm the one that he is waiting for.”
Zhu Longwang wasn’t sure about who the man was talking about. His thoughts returned to Fei Qianchi, his stomach knotting inside. His emotions ran wild as the man’s image appeared in his head. It was too hard to forget his appearance. Perhaps, his white hair and blue eyes were too breathtaking. Even with these features, he was not a delicate man. His features were both sharp and strong, a tall man, perhaps even taller than him.
“Don’t hesitate for too long. While the Pill of Sacrifice has gathered your souls, it does not guarantee that they have been mended into one whole soul.” The man said seriously.
By his side, the fox was still glaring at Zhu Longwang with cold eyes. His eyes reminded Zhu Longwang of Fei Qianchi’s eyes, both piercing and blue.
Zhu Longwang’s hand tightened around the bottle. Even so, he still hesitated.
The man, having caught his hesitation, sighed as he then brought his finger up to his mouth, biting it, a drop of blood appearing. With the blood, he slowly said, “I, Su Lianghe, underneath this Heaven, swear an oath that if my words are false and I have caused harm, I will be forced to enter the 99 gates of Hell, my soul unable to reincarnate. With this drop of blood, I swear that my words are true and that I mean no harm with my actions. The Heaven will be my witness.” Then, he looked around as he smeared his blood upon a rock near him.
“Your name is Su Lianghe.” Zhu Longwang had caught the man’s words. Hence, his guard relaxed, especially after he heard the man’s oath. For him to have said such a severe oath, it meant that he was truly not lying.
“Yes, now, will you believe me?” Su Lianghe smiled, a flicker of pain running past his eyes.
Zhu Longwang looked at the bottle in his hand, his eyes switching between looking at Su Lianghe and the bottle. Finally, he took off the clasp upon the bottle. Tilting the bottle, he lifted it to his mouth.

Zhu Longwang’s eyes widened, yet, he was unable to say anything as the sigil activated, an array appearing beneath his feet. His body disappeared.
Su Lianghe looked at the empty spot, his lips lifting sadly. Fixing his expression, his smile was wiped away as he turned around.
Ran Mengyu stood, lips in a smirk as he looked at Su Lianghe. “You are really out there to destroy all of my plans, aren’t you?” The man cocked his brows, sneering as Su Lianghe looked towards him with cold eyes.
Fengmian lifted his head, his blue eyes staring at Ran Mengyu intensely, snarling.
Ran Mengyu tilted his head, walking towards Su Lianghe. “At the beginning, you were willing to help me. But, in the end, it seems that your feelings for him still exists. How funny. Didn’t he leave you for someone else? Because he left you behind, everyone in Fushui sect clamored for both your roots and your golden core. Simply because his feelings changed, you lost your life.”
Su Lianghe turned his head away, avoiding the man’s piercing eyes. The man didn’t reply, merely standing still as he looked off into the distance.
Ran Mengyu laughed, his body shaking. “Of course! He left you many treasures when he left! Yet in the end, both of them lost their life while you remained in this place. In the end, you gave everything back, perhaps even more.” Ran Mengyu walked forward, his eyes flashing dangerously. His hands grabbed Su Lianghe’s chin, forcing the man to look towards his directions.
Su Lianghe’s face flickered with paint but he did not make a sound.
Fengmian snarled, the fox’s white canines showing.
Ran Mengyu glared at the fox, “Sit still for a moment, creature.” With his left hand pointing at the fox, a small beam of light hit Fengmian, the fox falling onto the ground.
Su Lianghe’s eyes widened, “What did you do?!” He struggled, but his strength was no match for Ran Mengyu’s.
“Stay still for me, Lianghe.” Ran Mengyu glowered down at Su Lianghe. “Remember, there is still a lot that I haven’t done. I’ve used everyone, I’ve pitted everyone against one another. Baicheng is my ultimate weapon, he will bear the weight of everyone’s hatred. Qianchi won’t escape either. I will throw this world into chaos, I will make this world seep with evil. After all, he told me that if I complete this task, I will ascend to Heaven.” The man slowly whispered, “So stay silent as the puppet you are. No matter what, you cannot outrun me. I have already branded your soul.”
Su Lianghe’s lips trembled as the man’s fingers ran over his lips, rubbing it. His body shook as the man pulled away his long hair, revealing the red marks that were scattered across his pale skin, descending down his neck.
“Everything you have is mine, your soul, your heart, your whole body is mine. Don’t you dare think that you can outrun me. Even if you want to, I will chase you to the depths of hell. We are deeply entangled, so simply remain by my side like this.” Ran Mengyu’s red lips lifted, his hand caressing Su Lianghe’s neck as the man closed his eyes in response.
“We first met ten thousands years ago and I was willing to destroy this world for you. I found you after so long, only this time, you will destroy the world with me.” Ran Mengyu’s amber eyes narrowed, his voice lowering.
“He is waiting for the news, Lianghe. He has tasked me with destroying this world. I will destroy this world.”

Zhu Longwang felt a sharp pain running throughout his body. His body felt like it was burning in flames, causing him to stumble. There was nothing around him, only darkness lingered, causing him to look around in slight fear. His expression twisted, a burning flame coursing through his body.
“Young gentleman, you must be going back to the mortal realm, aren’t you?”
Zhu Longwang turned around. In the dark space, a woman was floating in the air. Her body shone with a gold light, her extravagant pink robe and her headwear was delicate. Her face was beautiful, with narrow eyes and red lips, her skin was illuminated. She smiled, raising her hand as her palm faced towards the sky. A small light appeared.
“The Nectarine of Immortality has been consumed, your soul will be protected and no memories will be lost. Come, gentleman, this is the final step. With this final step, the Heaven cannot call you back until it is your time to come.” The woman smiled gently.
Zhu Longwang slowly walked forward. He exhaled softly, his cold face was reflected in the woman’s eyes. As he nearly reached the woman, the small bead of light in her hand reacted, flying towards him. A cool feeling ran throughout his body, calming the burning flame that was lit within him. As the pain slowly lifted, the woman before his eyes disappeared, leaving behind only one sentence.
“Let this be the final time you two experience this fate.”
Even as Zhu Longwang wanted to ask some questions, his eyes flickered, without being able to do anything else, he slowly lost his consciousness.

“Lord of Suzhou, I’ve completed some tests on Immortal Zhu.” Fei Shang lifted his head, looking up towards Zhu Luishui and Fei Qianchi. He sighed softly as he stared down at Zhu Luishui’s body.
Fei Qianchi bit his lips, walking closer to Zhu Longwang. Clearly, the man had regained his breath. Fei Shang had checked countless times and all his vitals were in the normal range, yet, the man was still in a deep sleep. It made him both worried and scared. How many lifetimes had passed? Seven lifetimes, that was how long it took before he could return to this world. Thinking back, he understood that he didn’t have the full story. He only knew his side. Even from his memories, Fei Qianchi couldn’t grasp how Zhu Longwang died.
Zhu Luishui’s eyes flickered, staring at his brother. “His soul has already been completed, hasn’t it?”
“Yes, it has. I’ve looked at it, all the cracks have been filled and fixed up. Without cracks in his soul, his memories will not fade, hence, we do not need to worry about that.” Fei Shang explained, looking back with his dark eyes staring long at Zhu Luishui.
At this, Fei Qianchi’s heart trembled in relief. He couldn’t bear to imagine Zhu Longwang losing his memories.
At that moment, the Qi surrounding Zhu Longwang’s body began to fluctuate. Fei Shang rushed over.
“What’s happening?” Fei Qianchi asked in a hurry.
By his side, Zhu Luishui furrowed his brows in worry.
Fei Shang grabbed Zhu Longwang’s wrist, closing his eyes as he inserted his Qi into Zhu Longwang’s body. His hands slightly trembled as a force from outside came.
Fei Qianchi felt himself stumble in surprise at the sudden momentum from the surrounding. With wide eyes, he quickly looked around.
“Why now?!” Zhu Luishui yelled in angry. He looked back at Zhu Longwang’s deathly pale face. “Is he alright?”
“Yes,” Fei Shang nodded quickly. “He’s waking up! Hurry and settle XueLu.”
Xue Lu. Fei Qianchi’s eyes narrowed. He looked at Zhu Longwang, the man’s face was pale, covered with sweat. Clenching his fist, he turned to Zhu Luishui, “Let us deal with him first. We can’t have anyone disturbing Longwang when he is about to wake up.”
Zhu Luishui nodded.

Wei XueLu stepped onto the ground, dressed in a black robe. His light blue eyes were bright, his figure tall and thin. His facial structure was handsome, fair yet also cold. His lips were plump and red, peach blossom eyes with a mole by the corner of his right eye. His hair was tied back by a white ribbon, his black and brown hair was long and straight.
He stood tall and straight, looking through the forest that surrounded a courtyard. His eyes were frosty and cold, a sword by his hip. The man was quiet, a strong sense of bloodlust waving off of his body as he waited. There was no expression on his face, only a cold emptiness was there.
“Immortal Fei, you have returned.” Wei XueLu’s voice was empty, with no feelings in his tone, merely speaking like a puppet. He turned around to the fluctuation behind him. Catching sight of Zhu Luishui, he also greeted, “Lord of Suzhou, we meet again.”
Fei Qianchi stared at the man. Years passed, even this man remained the same. He was still cold and lifeless, a scary emptiness. He glanced at Zhu Luishui, whose expression was a bit tense.
“Why are you suddenly here?” Zhu Luishui asked, tightening his lips as he stepped forward.
Wei XueLu didn’t seemed fazed, as if he was used to this. He merely looked at Zhu Luishui with cold eyes. “Baicheng wanted me to come here.”
“Why?” Fei Qianchi couldn’t have a clear idea of just what type of man Su Baicheng was. He was too complex, evil deeply imbedded within him. And yet, the betrayal he faced was something that Fei Qianchi could never go through. Thus, he wondered how the man could still be alive after everything.
“He congratulated Immortal Fei on his return back to this world.” Wei XueLu ignored Zhu Luishui’s eyes.
“What do you mean congratulate? He was the one who killed him.” Zhu Luishui snarled, his purple eyes flashing with anger.
Wei XueLu’s eyes sharpened, as if he was going to cut off Zhu Luishui’s head at any moment. “Lord of Suzhou, Baicheng did not kill Immortal Fei. Isn’t that right, Immortal Fei?” He glanced towards Fei Qianchi with dark eyes.
Su Baicheng didn’t. While he had killed many, Su Baicheng did not kill him. “He didn’t. Baicheng did not kill me.” Fei Qianchi spoke up at last. He wasn’t involved between Zhu Luishui and Su Baicheng, thus, he wouldn’t hide the truth. The man truly didn’t have a thing to do with his death. Perhaps he had used him, but in the end, he took his own life under the persuasion of someone else, the persuasion of Ran Mengyu.
Zhu Luishui seemed shock by that. “What? But… he clearly said that he killed you.” He looked at Fei Qianchi with wide eyes, as if he was doubting his words.
“Baicheng had nothing to do with my death, instead, he tried to save me.” Fei Qianchi replied, shaking his head.
He remembered it clearly. In the very last moments of his death, Su Baicheng had entered the room. Upon seeing him on the floor, the man’s face was an expression of shock and disbelief. Fei Qianchi clearly remembered the man running forward right before he finally slipped away. He knew that even Su Baicheng was surprised by his actions.
“Then, why would he lie and say that he killed you?” Zhu Luishui asked, his brows furrowing. His voice trembled lightly, fingers clenched by his sides, digging into his palm.
Wei XueLu’s eyes were cold. “Lord of Suzhou, you were adamant on Baicheng having killed Immortal Fei. As soon as you found out about Immortal Fei’s death, you rushed to Baicheng and accused him of killing Immortal Fei. Lord of Suzhou, Baicheng did kill your brother, he did use Immortal Fei, but it was not to the extent of killing him.” He reached into his sleeve. “He ordered me here to return something to Immortal Fei, that is why I am here.” The man’s slender fingers pulled out a pendant. Walking over with light steps, he politely handed the pendant to Fei Qianchi.
Fei Qianchi’s lips lifted into a small smile, grabbing the jade pendant.
“When you died, your body had disappeared. Only this pendant was left behind. Baicheng kept it, knowing that you would return one day.” Wei XueLu added. Finally, he glanced at both Zhu Luishui and Fei Qianchi.
“I will be leaving now. When everything is settled, I will await a compromise for both our sides.” Wei XueLu’s voice slowly drowned away as a spiral of leaves surrounded his body, falling to the ground as he disappeared.
Fei Qianchi grasped the pendant in his hand, biting his lips.
There was a loud crash from the distance.
A familiar energy seeped out, filling Fei Qianchi’s stomach with butterflies. His smile widened, eyes trembling as he looked behind him.
Zhu Longwang was now awake. He was now awake…
