Steal The Male LeadChapter 124

“Fengmian!”

Lu Fengmian turned around to stare at the man who had called. With a smile on his lips and his hand still carrying some books, he asked, “Are you looking for my sister?” 8CH2no

Jiang Nianzhen shyly touched his nose with a nervous smile. “Yes, she wasn’t teaching the soldiers like usual so I thought she would be with you.”

Lu Fengmian chuckled as he shook his head at Jiang Nianzhen’s nervous eyes. “She is talking with the General. Just go inside and you will find her there.”

Hearing this, Jiang Nianzhen smiled brightly, waving a goodbye as he yelled out, “Thanks. Also, Qingshan told you to go look at his wound and see if you can point out a herb that he has been looking for.” With that, he turned away with rather quick steps, walking towards Tang Qingshan’s tent.

Lu Fengmian merely shook his head with a light smile on his face, his eyes calm yet joy was evident in it. One month had passed. lOjsgr

Lu Fengmian had, of course, gotten closer to everyone here. With Lu Yingyue doing her role and him playing out his role, the two were quickly welcomed. Also, since Lu Fengmian was very skilled at finding herbs and medicines, he used them to his capability to help the wounded soldiers. With his personality and demeanor, everyone opened towards him, not able to hate him even if they tried. Even Tang Qingshan couldn’t find a fault about Lu Fengmian.

Lu Yingyue had helped Tang Qingshan scout the mountain, and when she wasn’t able to, Lu Fengmian did his role too. This helped him get closer to Tang Qingshan as they found some common things they had between them. Like what Lu Fengmian and Lu Yingyue had said, they were really loyal to Tang Qingshan, even if the two both had different thoughts.

“Fengmian.”

Hearing another familiar voice calling for him, Lu Fengmian didn’t hesitate to answer. “Qi Yue, are there some more wounded soldiers?”

Que Yi shook his head, “No, but Hou Li hasn’t been feeling all too well so I wanted to ask if you had some medicine that will be able to help him.”

Lu Fengmian nodded his head, a hint of worry on his face. “Follow me back to my tent. Tell me how he is feeling and I’ll see what I have that can help.”

Qi Yue thought about it as he began walking next to Lu Fengmian. “He’s been a bit pale lately. Although it looks like he still has the same energy when going out, it looks like he hasn’t been getting rest recently. A while ago, the General had told us that we should be leaving this mountain soon and going back to meet the rest of our comrades, then entering a battle that the Emperor had told us too. Hou Li has been a bit worried about that.”

Hearing this, Lu Fengmian’s eyes lighted up a bit. “I see, Hou Li must not have been getting enough rest lately. I’ll giving him some herbs that will be able to help him sleep. Just boil it with some water and tell him to drink it every night before he goes to sleep.” 8Eekp1

When they arrived at Lu Fengmian’s tent, he opened the flap and walked inside, Qi Yue following after him. Lu Fengmian set down his books on a small table before walking to a counter filled with jars of all sizes. Lu Fengmian scanned all of them before walking to a small jar, about the size of a small tea cup and grabbed it.

“This type of herb should be able to do the work. Just take the whole jar and tell Hou Li to use a few leaves to boil. This should last for a few weeks. If Hou Li runs out of the herbs, then come and get me. I have more here.” Lu Fengmian handed the small jar to Qi Yue who accepted it with a nod.

“Then, thank you, I will be taking my leave now.” Qi Yue thanked as he held the small jar.

“No need for that, that’s what I’m supposed to do. If you need anything else, just come and tell me.” Lu Fengmian opened the flap to send Qi Yue out. As soon as the man was gone, Lu Fengmian prepared himself, getting ready to make his way to Tang Qingshan’s tent. qyUC7W

“General, if everything is as you say, then I will prepare everything to my capability. If I am correct, this war can be settled down by quickly capturing Suzhou, a major city in Li Nation. But, with the way the other generals of Mo Nation are going about trying to defeat the Li cavalries, they will only lose more soldiers.” Saying this, Lu Yingyue pointed at the map and also looked at the sand with soldiers on it.

“The other generals are trying to capture the Li cavalries that carry the most weapons, dismissing the cavalry in Qingyang, closest to Mo Nation. This cavalry does not have a great number of weapons, but they hold the most food supplies. The general leading them is one of Li Nation’s most revered general, know as General Wu Shuang, whose role is currently unknown. If my guesses are correct, then General Wu Shuang has already implanted spies into Mo Nation and is merely waiting for the news. In a few days from now, I expect for there to be a sudden new cavalry who will bring weapons and other such things to General Wu Shuang.” Lu Yingyue pointed towards another spot on the map, moving a soldier.

“The closest spot to Qingyang is Guyuan, where another of the Li cavalries is stationed. Leading this cavalry is Que Sheng, a very crafty general who uses many underhanded methods to defeat his enemies. Que Sheng will secretly send weapons to Wu Shuang in a matter of one week. If no other cavalries of Mo is able to get to this place before one week, then it will be much tougher to defeat the Li Nation and will result in more losses for the soldiers of Mo.” Lu Yingyue was very calm as she said this, not even noticing how shocking her words were. cZIfdr

Tang Qingshan stood before her, looking at the maps and the soldiers on the sand with dark eyes. Lu Yingyue’s words were true, but Tang Qingshan couldn’t understand how she was able to devise everything to this point within a few days of learning about the war. And, it made him angry, knowing that even if he were to leave, it wouldn’t be fast enough to make it. He didn’t understand why there wasn’t any cavalries focusing on Wu Shuang when he was so close to Mo Nation.

“Everything that you’ve said is correct, but you are forgetting about our cavalry stationed in Baoji.” Tang Qingshan pointed out another fact.

Lu Yingyue shook her head, “General, you already know that the man leading this cavalry is the youngest son of the fifth-ranked family, Mian Shu. He is also the younger brother of Imperial Concubine Mian, who has been by the Emperor’s side for three years now. This man is too crafty, he will only move once he knows that no dangers will be brought to him. Mian Shu will not take the risk to stop and intercept.”

Tang Qingshan bit his lips, brows in a furrow. At this moment, the two soldiers stationed outside opened the flaps to reveal Lu Fengmian. 3wqlig

Lu Fengmian stared at Lu Yingyue before his eyes turned to Tang Qingshan, feeling the rather tense atmosphere as he knew right away what was happening. He nodded his head as Jiang Nianzhen turned to look at him with a nervous smile.

“Sister, is there something wrong?” Lu Fengmian glanced at Tang Qingshan swiftly but turned to walk to Lu Yingyue’s side as he looked down at the map and the sand that was laid out.

Lu Yingyue turned to look at Lu Fengmian, a light smile on her face as she softly said, “No, the General and I are talking about the current war. Mo Nation is currently facing a dilemma at the moment.” Her eyes flashed with a light but quickly returned to normal.

“Fengmian, did everything go well?” This time, Tang Qingshan earnestly looked at Lu Fengmian. Though there was not a smile on his lips, his eyes revealed a gentle look. daSk1r

Lu Fengmian replied, “Yes, I checked some of the soldiers who had minor injuries and they are safe. The situation is getting better, and although the temperatures are still a bit lower than normal, it seems like most of the soldiers will be able to safely leave this mountain.” Lu Fengmian quickly recounted the situation from when he had checked up on the soldiers.

Tang Qingshan nodded his head at this, a look of relief on his face before he turned to Jiang Nianzhen. “Nianzhen, listen to Yingyue for a bit. I have something I wish to ask Fengmian.”

Jiang Nianzhen nodded his head as he walked over to Lu Yingyue, who didn’t spare a single moment before she began talking more about the war.

Lu Fengmian left Lu Yingyue’s side at once and walked over to Tang Qingshan as the two entered a different compartment of the huge tent. Truth be told, it was Tang Qingshan’s other bedroom. Lu Fengmian looked at Tang Qingshan’s back, a rather soft light in his eyes as the man led him away. qJigsk

“General, I heard from Nianzhen that you had something you wanted to talk to me about.” Lu Fengmian brought up as he watched Tang Qingshan grab a small book from the shelf and walked towards him again.

Tang Qingshan handed the book to Lu Fengmian as he said, “There isn’t much. I just wanted to know something. From before, you said that you also know how to use the sword. I had some questions that I wanted to ask you.”

Lu Fengmian revealed a confused look in his eyes that made him appear even more enchanting. “General, if you have anything to ask, there is no need to be so wary. I will answer your questions truthfully, General.”

Tang Qingshan opened his mouth to no hope, the words not coming out of his mouth. How was he supposed to ask Lu Fengmian if they knew each other before? It was impossible because even he knew that the first time they had met was on this mountain, yet Tang Qingshan easily felt at ease with Lu Fengmian. HCNdMP

Lu Fengmian could see the hesitating expression on Tang Qingshan’s face. Although he was curious, Lu Fengmian also didn’t say anything to disturb Tang Qingshan. At the moment, Lu Fengmian was also placed in a rather difficult position. As this world was still unclear, Lu Fengmian had no idea what he should plan for the future that was coming, especially the war.

“When I return to the capital, will you and your sister follow me?” Tang Qingshan finally asked something. Strictly speaking, with Lu Fengmian and Lu Yingyue here, there was something about the atmosphere that was different. The moods of the soldiers were especially better, even Jiang Nianzhen was more at rest than before when these two people had showed up. Also, Lu Fengmian and Lu Yingyue were both very capable.

Lu Fengmian chuckled lightly at that, a sound comparable to crystal bells ringing in the breeze. With his gentle and beautiful eyes looking at Tang Qingshan, his soft voice replied, “Of course, General. From the moment you accepted my sister and I, we have placed our lives in your hand and our loyalty chained to only you. From this moment on, the two of us will follow you no matter what, standing by your side.”

Lu Fengmian’s eyes were very clear, but they weren’t pure. They held a soft light in them, encompassing the aura that drifted from his body, further elevating his looks that could surpass the most beautiful woman in Mo Nation. MqU0aF

Tang Qingshan held a light smile on his lips from Lu Fengmian’s words. Without knowing why, this truly made him relieved.

Suddenly remembering something, Lu Fengmian set aside his small box of materials on the table, laying it flat. “General, please lay on your bed so that I can look over your wound.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Tang Qingshan nodded his head at his words and laid on the bed, taking off his cloak and opened his robe to reveal the bandage at the side of his stomach.

Lu Fengmian sat on a chair as he grabbed some of his materials, opening the wooden box to reveal bandages and herbs, some scissors and knifes were there along with a few needles and threads. What he had wasn’t too suspicious since Jiang Nianzhen had the same things. ybfcQK

Lu Fengmian carefully lifted the bandage away from the wound, making sure that he didn’t aggravate the wound. Jiang Nianzhen had done a great job cleaning the wound, even closing it back up with no damage.

Lu Fengmian merely looked at it to see if it was nearly healed. It was almost healed, but there was going to be a scar. Seeing that there wasn’t any sign of infections or inflammations, he carefully applied another bandage on the wound as he looked up to catch Tang Qingshan’s eyes.

“Your wound should be fully healed in about three days. Although you can start moving more now, be careful not worsen your wound. After those three days, I will have to take out the thread. I will describe some more herbs for your supply of blood. I also found another root of ginseng while I was out a few days ago. I’ll tell him to put that into your medicine too.” Lu Fengmian carefully put the bandage on as he advised.

Tang Qingshan watched Lu Fengmian’s gentle movements. Flashing within his head, an image of a man with long white hair and blue eyes was reflected. Just like Lu Fengmian, that man carefully dressed a wound. Yet, when Tang Qingshan blinked his eyes, it all disappeared. Blinking his eyes, Tang Qingshan watched as Lu Fengmian looked up at him again, gentle and calm eyes that brought him peace. 3c9dEn

  1. I hate that I’m loving this kind of plot which surprised me by the way. I’m used to being spoon fed by the author when it comes to different arcs but this one is driving me crazy because of curiosity. It really adds spice to the storyline.

  2. Shouldn’t it be very suspicious if some mountain girl who spent her whole life away from populace, not only has such a vast knowledge on military tactics, but also knows about the important military personnel and even their family backgrounds ??? Also a General shouldn’t discuss such matters with a stranger with dubious background..
