Story of Another UsCh17 - Shadow Ghost

There was definitely something wrong with Decebal Yan.

And for a rare instance, after he had penetrated his mind, Misharu Tsai wasn’t sure what it was. Vipvj4

He knew how the mind works more than anybody. Don’t even mention being a neuroscience major, Misharu has seen so much more from directly picking into the minds of people every day.

But Decebal Yan was something different.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

The kind Misharu loathed.

At first, Misharu was confident he could easily teach him a lesson. His mind felt too easy to penetrate, naive and innocent. A telepath is acquainted with the horrors they can do to the mind, so it’s quite strange that he didn’t have defenses up at all. At best, he’s probably more powerful as a telekinetic, and he’s just a sloppy telepath with raw power to show. NUrtsp

But when Misharu began to attack him and Sebi seriously fought back, he could feel something else there inside him, driving his force into a maddening level that Misharu had to withdraw for the day.

He didn’t think there’s anything strange about that, though. Misharu simply thought that was more of Sebi’s raw power, just there, dormant and uncontrolled but available for use when Sebi is finally able to. He just hated that it made him hard for Misharu to understand.

But so what? Sebi needs more years to hone his ability, while Misharu was already highly capable. He can slowly beat him until he will learn who’s really the big daddy of this place.

Though, he still had the sinking feeling that there was something wrong about Decebal Yan and he couldn’t point out what even after days of contemplation…

Z1cqgt

“Misharu Tsai!”

He stopped on his heels, a bit dumbfounded that right after being tested by Decebal Yan, there was another person who wasn’t a telepath and already wanted to get fucked to tears by him.

Turning around, Misharu narrowed his eyes and saw through his mind’s eyes a familiar girl, with very curly black hair, bronze skin, and blazing eyes glaring at him. She was also much taller than him with an athletic build, so she poses quite an intimidating figure towards Misharu, whose capabilities were centered within his mind and lacked everywhere else.

“Finally found you after days. You’re a ghost,” she spoke. dHs4tb

“Ms. Adebisi,” he greeted her smoothly, managing to match her face with her name. He had seen her during the last Ability Enhancement class, notably because she wasn’t a poor excuse of a fire user like the others.

“Fuck you,” Alexandra muttered very rudely as she suddenly grabbed his collar and pinned him against the wall, bringing two aflame fingers to his throat.

“…how polite,” Misharu mused, appearing aloof despite his internal turmoil.

‘This bitch is too fucking strong…‘ he thought as he subtly tried to push her away but couldn’t with the little strength he had in his muscles. 8lS7k9

“Stop playing with Decebal, he didn’t do anything to you,” she demanded. “You’re lucky he didn’t report you to the Headmaster.”

“I’d like to see him try,” Misharu chuckled as he invaded Alexandra’s mind.

A burning sensation suddenly flooded him, and Misharu quickly flinched away.

‘A fucking fire user who can burn anyone with her hands and her mind. Lovely.’ 4XpQr8

“I’m warning you,” Alexandra said, thumping him against the wall. “Bully him again and I’ll–”

“I don’t think Ms. Adebisi taught you your lesson thoroughly, cutie.” lTraSy

Misharu felt the hairs on his neck stand on end as he turned his head to the side and found that damned Akhenaten person again. He was giving him a charming smile as he walked over, hands in his pockets in a relaxed manner as if he wasn’t going to approach one of the most violent telepaths on campus.

“Please fuck off,” Misharu said as he turned around to quickly make his escape, but he was suddenly blocked by a dome-like force field.

“Let me out, you shitty asshole!” Misharu shouted, losing his cool as he slammed his fists against the force field.

“You’ve got a potty mouth, that’s cute,” Akhenaten laughed as he curled his finger in a come-hither gesture and made the force field drag Misharu towards him. He then cornered him against the wall and trapped him there. Csu9Re

What Misharu hated more than other telepaths who showed the littlest intention of outdoing him were telepathically-immune bastards! And why do they like pushing him up against the wall like some kind of spineless shithead?!

“Hey cutie,” Akhenaten called out as he shrunk his force field so he’d be able to lean in and prop a hand on the wall next to Misharu’s head.

“Why do you want to play with Decebal so much?” Akhenaten wondered.

“It’s none of your business!” Misharu angrily said, launching aggressive mental attacks at Akhenaten just for the sake of letting off some steam. A normal person would have gone mad, but with Akhenaten, his attacks simply bounced back like they hit the wall. Te C3R

“You’re not going to get anywhere with Decebal, he’s probably just as powerful as you,” Akhenaten said. “Shouldn’t you be more interested in people who you couldn’t control… like… you know…”

He leaned in and whispered flirtatiously, “Me?”

While Misharu went through a great personal tribulation under Akhenaten, Sebi was busy with his classes.

“….similar to how the Romans contributed greatly to the overbearing Western civilization on Earth and spread their influence, the Romans who found our ancestors in the hidden Earth bases and were brought to the Terra Star System gained great influence over the government ranks. Latin became our primary language, they overwhelmed our ancestors the same way their Roman Empire took for themselves a chunk of Eurasia with a bit of Africa…” JHKEPa

After Professor Park’s class, Sebi rushed to his next class with Professor Cervantes. He listened to their lectures, but he couldn’t concentrate very well and only his ability to take down notes saved him from missing any of the lessons.

During lunchtime, Sebi ate lunch with Necomir and their friends, simply remaining quiet while ravenously eating through his usual massive diet plan.

“You seem very out of it today,” Necomir said after staring at Sebi for a while without getting a response.

Hearing his words, Sebi looked up dully and mumbled a weak, “Huh?”  rU2Z4a

He looked really pitiful, with droopy, tired eyes, an even paler complexion than usual, and rice at the side of his lips.

“You’re a mess,” Necomir chuckled as he reached out and wiped off the rice.

“Decebal has been studying a lot these past few days, he has started to feel the weight of his load since he also needs to take the highschool equivalency exam soon,” Bellona explained as she patted Sebi’s shoulder.

“You have to ease up, stress is going to invite loads of kinds of sickness into your body,” Akhenaten warned him, to which Chunmi solemnly affirmed with a hum. amMxzv

“I’m fine, just a bit tired,” Sebi waved his hand dismissively as he took his tray and stood up. “I’ve got supplementary classes to attend this afternoon. I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”

Necomir suddenly reached out and grabbed his hand before Sebi could make it far from the table.

“You’re eating dinner with us,” he firmly said.

Sebi didn’t understand why he was feeling so low today. He wasn’t particularly stressed, but the thought of having to do so many things did put a lot of pressure on him that he felt like he needed to do a bit harder starting today and onwards. JFacQ

Yeah… it actually did sound like stress.

But after his friends reminded him that he wasn’t alone, Sebi suddenly felt all of the clouds disappear to reveal a clear sky.

The rest of his day became a bit more bearable. Sebi finally loosened up and didn’t feel like there was anything pressuring him anymore. He was his usual self, relaxed, and easy as he paid attention to his tutor’s lectures with a clearer mind.

After his supplementary classes, Sebi still had an hour before dinner, so he thought about going outside to jog. His body was still physically weak, and he terribly needed a proper exercise plan outside Ability Enhancement class. u0m2tM

After quickly changing into a casual exercise outfit, Sebi went off to start jogging. He put on some wireless earphones he found in his drawer and connected it to his lightband. He found a good exercise playlist and loaded it up so he could listen while jogging.

It was already six by the time Sebi started jogging. The sky outside was already very dark, and the three moon satellites could already be seen. Even though there are three moons, they were quite far from Terra compared to the distance of the moon from Earth, so the illumination was still not very good. Only the lamp posts lining up the perimeter gave Sebi some light.

He was thankful for it. Although what had happened during his death didn’t traumatize him too much, it still left an impression on him and he couldn’t help but feel that sometimes, there’s something in the dark out to get him.

Watch out. 8rZJSL

Before Sebi could be freaked out by that sudden voice in his head, he felt an antagonistic force sneaking up on him, like a creeping fog.

He came to a stop on his tracks and quickly set up his mind’s defenses. Sebi had stopped next to a dark, shrouded area, where he suspected his incoming assailant was hiding.

“Misharu Tsai,” he calmly called out. “I am not sure why you want to provoke me, but I’m very interested in having a fight with you. I suggest we settle this in the Hexagon rather than cheap assaults.”

Something seemed to move, and Sebi quickly strengthened his defenses. He listened, sensing the presence flit around and around. HFSvdR

Then, it stopped.

“Decebal?”

Sebi sharply turned around, eyes with hostile intent as he prepared to launch a mental attack when he suddenly saw Light together with Aristotle.

“Dude!” Light gasped as he raised his arms up in a defensive stance, slightly alarmed when he felt the aggression radiating from Sebi. “Are you okay? Were you in a fight?” XWCghq

Sebi blinked and rubbed his head. “No…”

“Are you sure?” Aristotle spoke incredulously as he cautiously looked around.

“I’m sure,” Sebi breathed, smiling as he straightened up and brought back his composure. “I thought I heard something… I was probably just a bit spooked because of the dark.”

“It might be the Shadow Ghost,” Light offhandedly said. FIZeRW

Sebi raised an eyebrow. “Shadow Ghost?”

“It’s not true,” Aristotle mumbled.

“I know, Aris,” Light laughed as he playfully pushed against the taller guy’s body. “But it might be, you know? Decebal was here all freaked out and nearly attacked me into insanity, he might have seen the Shadow Ghost.”

“Decebal was just seeing things,” Aristotle dismissively said.  QacTK5

“You know, I heard a couple of people say that the Shadow Ghost is scary,” Light kept on babbling. “They say he takes the form of your worst fears and attacks you.”

“Interesting,” Sebi said.

“But I don’t know how that works,” Light said with a dramatic sigh. “My worst fear is losing Aristotle, how will the Shadow Ghost use that to attack me?”

“…” ABvlIZ

Sebi didn’t know what to say, his mouth suddenly forced with a sizeable amount of sweetness that he didn’t ask for.

“Come on, let’s go back to the dorms together,” Aristotle said, breaking the silence without much of a bat of his eyelids.

“Oh, by the way!” Light spoke up, not a single hint of shame from what he just said a while ago. “I heard Misharu Tsai branded you as his next target?”

“I thought it was him attacking me earlier,” Sebi said. qvR6mQ

“No wonder!” Light nodded as he rubbed his chin. “Hey, what do you think about seeking revenge? You know, like old times.”

Sebi remembered that the three of them used to be very ruthless against whoever picked a fight with them. A young telekinetic telepath, an illusionist, and a spatial manipulator together was a whole squad made for mischief. They’ve made dozens of people cry and vomit blood, and they’re quite the childish tyrants.

“No thanks,” Sebi didn’t even have to think about his answer. “I’m alright, I’ll deal with him myself.”

“Alright,” Light nodded as he patted his shoulder. “If you need our help, just holler. It hasn’t been very fun in college so far.” faPpQd

Sebi suddenly remembered something as he glanced at his lightband.

“Well… can you send me some good playlists?”

  1. i really wanna see if akhenaten’s invincibility lasts when hes sharing a braincell with bellona. he sounds so smooth now, but with bellona around to make fun of him…. maybe misharu won’t feel so alone in akhen’s friend group : D

i love alexandra she doesn’t give up avenging her friends. and sebi, please take a break when studying is a Stress.

is aristotle ramirez named after ari and dante discover the secrets of the universe?? bc i love that book too

aristotle/light is a ship i support, havent seen a whole lot of them yet but from what ive heard this story will be long. so i have hopes

i feel like bellona and alexandra should meet. they’d either hit it off or become enemies and i know how inspiring rivals can be. necomir was really good at emotional support rival-ing today.

also i think that campus ghost haunted sebi the night he had a nightmare. and then panic attack. maybe it gives power for each trial its victims go through? that seems p manipulative ngl but that could explain how sebi beat off misharu tsai

    thanks for the chapter!

  2. I think if anyone will tame the psycho , Misharu, it is definitely Akhenaten lol

Sebi needs to trust his friends more. Whether it is Neco, Bellona, Chunmi, Akhenaten, Aristotle, Light, the fire user, or the principal, he is no longer alone.

    Thanks for the chapter! <3
