After they both walk outside, Zhou Pi Hai steps back and turns around to face him.
“I called to have someone tow your car back to our garage after I left yesterday. I didn’t exactly realize I didn’t have a way to contact you until after I got home.” Zhou Pi Hai explained.
“Ahh, I totally forgot about it as well.” Pu Li Ming said then did a little bow, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s alright. It wasn’t a big deal, so you don’t need to apologize.” Zhou Pi Hai said.
Pu Li Ming just decided to nod in response.
Zhou Pi Hai eventually explained why he came by, “Do you have free time after this? I’d like to take you to the garage to sign a form for the service, and of course to talk about payments.”
“I technically do have a class, but it’s not until about 2 or 3 hours later.” Pu Li Ming explained.
“Then you have enough time, it shouldn’t take too long.” Zhou Pi Hai says with a smile, reaching his hand out again, “Come.”
And with that, Pu Li Ming grasps his hand and follows Zhou Fi Hai to where his car is parked.
Just like before, Zhou Fi Hai opens the passenger door for him, letting him settle inside before closing the door and jogging around the car to get in the driver’s side.
Soon enough, Zhou Fi Hai starts driving out of and away from Nom Si University.
Pu Li Ming looks out the window, trying to take note of the way to Zhou Fi Hai’s garage.
Zhou Fi Hai himself glances towards the younger man in his peripheral vision, sneaking a peek or two in between driving. Of course, he decides to stop soon enough. He can’t get too distracted from driving. (A/N: Drive safely everyone!)
When they arrive, Pu Li Ming’s eyes widen when they start coming up to the garage.
A few mechanics were running around, carrying tools, tires, and different parts of vehicles. And the whole place seemed to be almost packed with cars.
“Ahh, we’ve got a lot of regular clients aside from other customers. Since it’s coming up to the end of the month, a lot of them sent cars up here for maintenance. So please don’t mind the bustle.” Zhou Fi Hai explained.

Pu Li Ming gives him a grateful smile before stepping out with his bag in his hand.
He looks up, starting at almost every detail he could find.
Noticing his state, Zhou Fi Hai grows a soft smile, “You like it?”
Mutely, Pu Li Ming nods. Pulling him away from the scenery, Zhou Fi Hai puts his hand on the other’s back and starts leading him to the office.
“Hey, Grace.” Zhou Fi Hai greets the receptionist when he opens the door for himself and Pu Li Ming.
The woman in question looks up, blonde hair sweeping off her shoulder when she straightens up from leaning over the table writing, “Heyya, Boss!”
“How’s business going?” He asks, leading Pu Li Ming further into the room.
“Very busy, Sir! The regulars are in full attendance today!” She says, leaning over again to work on the papers she was writing.
“Alright, keep up the good work Grace! I’ll be in my office with my companion.” He says.
Once Zhou Fi Hai opens the office, he walks towards the lounge area with a big couch and one smaller one curling around a coffee table.
Gesturing to the bigger one, he says”Take a seat, Pu Li Ming.”
Pu Li Ming nods and situates himself in the middle of the couch. He grabs one of the small square pillows and places it right on his lap.
“So after looking through your car, we found what might have gone wrong with it.” Zhou Fi Hai opens, grabbing two mugs from a cub stand. “Seems like it was transmission failure. There are a bunch of different possible causes for something like that, though we’ve pinpointed that it’s most probably the damaged internal components in the transmission that we found. Could be wear or tear, but also possibly because of manufacturing defects.” He explained further as he poured a brew of coffee into them.
“Here.” He places one mug on a coaster that was set right in front of Pu Li Ming who hesitates.
“I don’t drink coffee. It’s alright.” He declines with a sheepish smile.
After staring for a few seconds too long (making Pu Li Ming inwardly sweat), Zhou Fi Hai nods and takes a seat on the smaller couch with the other mug in his hand.
“I went ahead and got the damaged components replaced with a leftover stock we had from a previous order. It’s of good quality, I assure you.” He said, taking a sip of his coffee.
Pu Li Ming does a small bow and clasps his hands together, “Thank you so much, Zhou Fi Hai!”
Zhou Fi Hai stands back up, grabbing the top paper on a pile and handing it to Pu Li Ming.
“You’ll have to fill that form up with the necessary details. We require all customers and clients to do so.” He explains, handing him a pen as well.
“Oh, okay.” Pu Li Ming says, looking through the document, then methodically filling the boxes and lines one by one as Zhou Fi Hai continues to drink his coffee while he watches.
Pu Li Ming soon finishes with his signature and brings the paper up to his face to look at it, “Done.”
“Good.” Zhou Fi Hai says, setting his now empty mug down. “I’ll lead you to your car.”
“Wait, what about the payment?” Pu Li Ming asked, opening his sling bag to take out his wallet.
“No need.” Is Zhou Fi Hai’s only answer.
“What?”
“No need to pay.” He clarifies, “I’m doing it for free.”
“But—”
“Take it as a favor from a senior, if it helps.”
“No,” Pu Li Ming frowns, “It doesn’t.”
“Alright, then what could help you accept the repair for free?” Zhou Fi Hai asks, turning to face Pu Li Ming directly.
The younger man falls silent in contemplation before piping up, “Maybe… I could help out in the garage? I mean I don’t know much automative-wise, maybe a bit mechanical-wise. But well, I study Civil Engineering so I guess that’s a given—”
Zhou Fi Hai cuts his nervous rambling off with a hand on his shoulder, “Deal. You can come by for at least a week or two and help out the mechanics. Doable enough.”
“Really?” Pu Li Ming’s round eyes seem to shimmer.
“Yes. I trust that you’d be a good help in assisting us around the garage.”
“Thank you.” Pu Li Ming says, a happy tone in his voice.
“No problem at all.” Zhou Fi Hai assures him and leads him to his car.
Once Pu Li Ming is situated in his car, he opens up his window to wave goodbye to Zhou Fi Hai.
Zhou Fi Hai waves back at him while the other hand is shoved inside a pocket, giving the younger man a small smile as he leaves.
“Who was that, Boss?” Head Mechanic Chu asked.
“You guys will get to know him better in the next week or so.” Zhou Fi Hai answers, turning back around to grab the form Pu Li Ming filled up.
