Translator's Note

月凄寒,夜茫茫,糟心玩家什么时候玩儿完?: Yuè qī hán, yè máng máng, zāo xīn wán jiā shi me shí hòu wán’erwán? – I think it’s supposed to be poetic, was very confused with the translation until I read the pinyin.

Translator's Note

看地上白露为霜 : Kàn dìshàng báilù wèi shuāng – lit: watching the white dew on the ground as frost. (Water can freeze during summer?)

Translator's Note

精气神 : jīng qì shén – the three energies of Chinese medicine: 精, 氣|气, and 神

  1. i cant believe a song died!!!! i think he managed to throw people off somehow…. oh maybe its just me overthinking but my ml sences are sort of tingling hahha

    • A song is used doppelgänger Jutsu card or something or maybe it’s “ghost” privilege

Like oil tirmmer said this instance is ghost’s territory.

Also there are patterns of ghost killing method

      Here is “straggling” or hanging

But a song is “burnt” so ….weird

  2. So that’s what happened!!! No worries, accidents happen~ Thank you for your hard work!

Mmh… time for someone to notice the disturbed dirt, ah. This won’t end well.

    • In this chapter he was stated as dead. Like how the 2nd grandson died and then his body disappeared that’s how Xiao Mei got a card, thats what also happened with A Song. After he died when burned his body also disappeared. So he’s not missing but dead.

Well, that how it is in this chapter

  3. i keep thinking, everyone suspected A Song, no? The sweeper or lantern guy veteran, he really thought A Song was the ghost. I feel like the author wouldn’t show that unless A Song is an important character.. right? well, whatever. we’ll see.

  4. 看地上白露为霜 — This is most likely a reference to Thoughts on a Tranquil Night (静夜思) by Li Bai.

Thank you for translating this story!

  5. I think the ghost is Song , after all he knew the names of the NPC’s accurately and called the protagonist Xiao Fei when everyone called him A Fei, showing that he was old enough for that, but if I’m not mistaken, the their body has almost no age difference….
