Translator's Note

The author would use 子时, which is a time period between 11 pm and 1 am, and they would either write “after 子时 has ended” or something similar. Yet at other times, they would also specifically write 11 pm, or they would use midnight and then write “two hours after midnight”. So from now only, I’ll stick with 11 pm as the time the card change and the time when a player will be killed. The previous chapters are yet to be edited

Translator's Note

If the player’s assigned character has a job, then they must work or else it would be labelled as not fulfilling their duties.

Translator's Note

for example: in the Happy Funeral instance, the restriction was that you can not disrespect the dead. As for this instance, it will be explained later

Translator's Note

垂涎欲滴 : chuí xián yù dī – to drool with desire (idiom); to envy / to hunger for

Translator's Note

Original text used “神出鬼没 : shén chū guǐ mò – lit. to appear and disappear unpredictably like a spirit or a ghost (idiom) / fig. elusive” but I don’t know how to fit it into this sentence.

Translator's Note

Refering to the stalkers in real life

Translator's Note

龙背山 : Lóng bèishān – Dragon’s Back Mountain

Translator's Note

He actually yelled “老婆: Lǎo pó” meaning wife

Translator's Note

偷鸡摸狗 : tōu jī mō gǒu – to imitate the dog and steal chicken (idiom) / to pilfer / to dally with women / to have affairs

Translator's Note

单衣 : dānyī – unlined garment. I don’t know what this is called in English, but it’s basically the inner white layer of a Hanfu

  1. “You’re back” doesn’t seem like it applies to Song Bozhi very well, so is the stalker delusional and imagining someone else or looking for Ren Yifei’s soul, which just arrived in an instance(/a system world) again? Anyway, I love Saman constantly noticing Ren Yifei and dismissing him as an NPC even though he feels like there’s no real reason for him to keep doing it. I can imagine that if they happen to run into each other in instances a few more times he’d start to follow that instinct to find Ren Yifei even when he acts perfectly haha. It might even allow them to partner up without Ren Yifei’s ever breaking character… If “partnering up” is something either of them actually felt inclined to do, of course

Thank you so much for translating! <3

    • I’m not quite sure myself. Without spoiling too much, I think the stalker (aka the ghost) is probably aware that they are a part of a ‘game’ -just like how Granny Chun Zhi from the last instance pretended to be a player- and the game is just a repeat of their own life (specifically, their ‘obsession’). So for this ghost, it would be the second time they’re meeting Song Bozhi (since they have no memory of all the other times they had played this game).

And also, I love the way you think. Their dynamic would certainly be interesting in the future if it’s like what you said.

      • Oh, that makes sense! I forgot that even without memories of repeated instances they’d probably still have memories of the original events. Doesn’t speak well for Song Bozhi’s original ending though haha. Thanks very much, I’m looking forward to however it develops!

  2. wooooah, another mystery to solveee~

I wonder if the creepy stalker’s words have something to do with the real Yifei and not the character he is playing

    Thanks for the chapter~

  3. so exciting 😌 that stalker really creeps me out ㅠㅠ my heart drops when i read that they didn’t really leave the room OMG

  4. (paraphrased) “ren yifei almost thought that the instance was targeted at him”

…huh. i’ve only started the fourth instance but … interesting. the guide elf doesn’t know about a fei’s previous relationship with a system, but whoever runs cape of desolation might. do they knwo?

  5. Author nim, pls don’t kid with me. My ex boyfriend likes to smoke and it definitely didn’t smell like a warm bakery.. 😂🤣

  6. The protagonist’s performance is so convincing (along with the scene descriptions) that for a moment I wondered if he had somehow lost his sight in this match to appear more convincing…..
