Once editing for the first episode was finished, the reaction panel next door began to start filming. Quite frankly, the production team was a little tight on time. If Phoenix TV wanted to release the show in advance, they would have to prepare four episodes worth of raw footage, as well as the footage from the reaction panel. One single episode needed to be one hundred and fifty minutes minimum.
The guests and hosts also had their own scripts to follow, such as after each couple’s part ends. This would then be their turn to interact and make comments. Of course, if any highlights come up before then, the camera would still cut back to them and give them an opportunity to provide some exciting reactions.
Luo Yaoye, as a temporary guest, was very excited. It was almost as if she was about to attend an uber-important awards ceremony.
In addition to her, there were also the Phoenix TV’s in-house hosts, Cui Shuo and Nian Bao. One of them was calm and the other was playful. Nian Bao was especially so. She was one of the most entertaining female hosts. Her witty remarks often ended up becoming widespread memes.
Luo Yaoye was actually a little troubled when she met Nian Bao. Her public persona was that of a classic beauty from Hong Kong, so she tended to carry about with the airs of one with her. However, Nian Bao didn’t care about that. Her barbs were, more often than not, biting and tricky to get out of. Luo Yaoye was really worried that she wouldn’t be able to hold up in the face of it.
Thankfully, there were several other guests that could help take the heat off of her. This group included friends of the three other couples on the show, Jian Zhongling, Zhao Han, and Cai Xinrui.
Luo Yaoye and Cai Xinrui had both acted in the same drama before, and they had a really good relationship. Jian Zhongling and Zhao Han were both musicians, but their music styles were vastly different. Zhao Han was a rapper. He sat there with a shaved head and a serious look on his face.

Nian Bao still had her wits about her, so she cued her, “Yaoye seems pretty shocked. Are they usually not like this?”

Most of the later scenes were relatively normal, up until the scene of the two of them getting up the next morning.
Xu Jingzhe clearly didn’t have any experience with reality shows because it was obvious that he’d forgotten about the cameras in the room. It was also pretty obvious that he didn’t realize he was being filmed. Xu Jingzhe woke up very early, but he didn’t rush to get out of bed. He kicked at his blanket a bit before rolling over towards Liang Yu’s pillow, probably to wake Liang Yu up. Liang Yu soon woke up as well. Neither of them had mics on, so it wasn’t clear what they said. Liang Yu, still lying down, reached out and pulled Xu Jingzhe onto his chest.
When the camera cut back to the reaction panel, everyone was silent for a few seconds. Cai Xinrui was the first to lose control, letting out a long squeal of excitement. Luo Yaoye had both hands clasped to her chest, almost out of breath. She and Cai Xinrui were like a pair of besties fangirling over their favorite ship. They no longer cared about the cameras on them. They simply wanted to grab onto each other and run around in circles.
Nian Bao and Cui Shuo probably didn’t expect such an exciting scene to come up either. It was different from the introductions for the other couples. What was Phoenix TV up to? Were they really allowed to just broadcast it like that?!
Still, the show must go on.
Xu Jingzhe got up first. It was only once he left the room and ran into one of the cameramen that he remembered he was recording a reality show, so he subconsciously covered his face. Nian Bao let out an “aw”. She automatically had a filter when it came to Xu Jingzhe. She had actually publicly confessed herself to be a fan of his.
“Xu Jingzhe!” Nian Bao no longer had anyone else in her eyes. She was entirely caught up in her starry-eyed infatuation. “You don’t need to cover your face! You could go a hundred years without washing your face and it would still be the brightest star in the night sky!”
Cui Shuo couldn’t stand it anymore and said, “Calm down…”
Xu Jingzhe seemed to have no idea that the production team would install a camera right next to his sink. When he was getting his toothbrush, he looked at the camera for a long time, his expression both embarrassed and curious. While he was brushing his teeth, there were several times in which he’d stop and take mind of his appearance, worrying that his mouth was open too wide or that his expression was strange.
Cai Xinrui was going crazy. She shook Luo Yaoye, screaming incoherently, “Since when was Xu Jingzhe this cute?!”
Luo Yaoye managed to get past that initial attack and was now entering a state of zen, viewing everything as though it were a dream.
Liang Yu got up a little later, and he was much more cunning than Xu Jingzhe. He took a towel and covered all the cameras in the bathroom. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of rushing water. It was likely that he was taking a shower. However, the fact that the cameras were all covered only served to allow the guests’ thoughts to run wild. The women on the reaction panel all blushed.
Jian Zhongling seemed to have thought of something, his expression that of pity. He said, “I just remembered the shaving scene from Liang Yu’s first movie. Director Qiao shot it very beautifully. Such an iconic scene. It’s a shame we don’t get to see it today.”
Nian Bao immediately stood up and began with the dramatics, pretending to rush towards the camera. “Don’t try to stop me! I’m going to rip off that towel! Where’s the producer?! What’s the producer doing! Do you want my money?! Bring me my wallet! Give them my money!”

They also kept the part where he kicked Liang Yu.
Upon seeing this, Zhao Han finally couldn’t take it anymore. His expression was fierce, but his entire person exuded a sense of naivete. He earnestly asked Luo Yaoye, “Are all actors just that good? This really isn’t an act?”
Luo Yaoye thought he was playing to the cameras and was just about to go along with him when she heard him say enviously, “Hmm, they both look really in love.”

Zhao Han was entirely dumbstruck after hearing this. He had a look on his face that seemed to say, “Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?” He couldn’t help but to once again chat with Luo Yaoye, “Does Liang Yu have experience writing lyrics? Would he be open to collaborating with me? He really isn’t reading this off a teleprompter?”
Luo Yaoye immediately began giving him the rundown. “Oh, there’s a video of him reciting a poem on Douyin. Xu Jingzhe was the one that wrote it for him.” Luo Yaoye spoke with the tone of an experienced person. “You jumped on the bandwagon too late. You’ve got a lot of catching up to do.”
Zhao Han looked very sheepish and ready to learn. He even pulled out a notebook to take notes. His pen was a very girly pink feather pen.
The interview between Xu Jingzhe and Liang Yu was also very amusing. Their little dispute about who the “husband” was in the relationship tickled everyone into laughter.
Nian Bao even shouted, “Stop arguing! You’re all my men!”
The latter half of their part was almost entirely unedited. This included when the two of them went looking for cameras together. The atmosphere within the reaction panel reached its peak when Liang Yu bowed his head and kissed Xu Jingzhe’s brow.
Jian Zhongling held his head in his hands and shouted, “I’m straight! How can I be moved by this kind of scene!”
Zhao Han gripped his pink feather pen, the fuzz of the feather all bent out of shape. He asked Luo Yaoye, incredulous, “Are we really allowed to watch this? Aren’t viewers supposed to pay to see this stuff?”
Cai Xinrui was already on the moon. Luo Yaoye was still relatively calm. She analyzed, “I think the first episode is going to be free but the later episodes will be put behind a paywall.”
Zhao Han asked very sincerely, “If the free episode is already like this, what’ll the paid episodes be like?”
Luo Yaoye felt she’d gone and ascended to heaven. Her eyes were blank, having completely abandoned this secular world. “At worst, they’ll just go to bed together. What else can they do?”
