Ark blushed. He held the mermaid by the shoulders, wanting to push him away, but every time the mermaid looked at him with those begging eyes, he found it impossible to reject him. This time was almost the same…
Without him realising it, Fu Ji had quietly left the room. Overcome with the urge to breed, the mermaid tore off Ark’s clothes, chasing after his lips to press kisses to his face one after another.

The first thing that caught Ji Ning’s attention in the phantom array was the smell of food.
He opened his eyes to find himself standing in the middle of a bustling street. Although night had already fallen, the road was crowded with people wearing strange clothes and makeup. Their faces looked pale and hollow, as if they weren’t living people.

Ark is so heartbreaking (he’s one of my favourites), but I think this chapter shows really well not only how much he loves Ji Ning, but how much Ji Ning loves Ark – it’s just the final arc really makes me *spoiler*
