The Disabled Tyrant’s Pet Palm Fish [Transmigration]Chapter 144

Chu YanYu was dealt with by the Crown Prince. Piao Xue was washed several times by Wang Xi and Xiao Luo. Wiped down multiple times, the cat’s fur was so white it shone. There was no more filth on its body and it didn’t smell anymore. The Crown Prince even had servants from the animal house come over to inspect it several times. They all said that this cat was fine, however, the Crown Prince still didn’t allow Li Yu to get close to it.

Just because Chu YanYu had once placed black dog blood on Piao Xue. Although Li Yu emphasized countless times that he wasn’t afraid of Daoist Priests or black dog blood, the Crown Prince was still worried that something might happen to this fish. MLy9Rz

An overly obsessive person was very hard to persuade. Li Yu also knew that the Crown Prince was doing this for his sake. If it wasn’t black dog blood, and was some other filth instead, the Crown Prince might still not allow him to touch it.

Got it! Li Yu came up with an ingenious idea and said: “Then can you hug it for me?”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

People all say that husbands were as one. If the hubby hugged the cat, wasn’t that pretty much like him hugging it?

The Crown Prince: “……” VLw0fH

The Crown Prince hesitated for a moment. He already refused Xiao Yu many times. It was very clear that Xiao Yu was yielding a step here. For the sake of his safety and to make Xiao Yu happy, he couldn’t refuse this request.

The Crown Prince agreed. Grinning widely to the side, Wang Xi immediately handed the clean and pure white Piao Xue to the Crown Prince.

After all of this torment, Piao Xue had already abandoned all resistance. If there’s dried fish, it ate them. No dried fish, it curled up and slept. Piao Xue, who was suddenly picked up: ?

Then, it was pushed in front of a big and tall man.

ZXFB1f

Piao Xue: “Miao!!!”

Piao Xue recognized this man. Its fur practically fluffing up as it cried out desperately.

The Crown Prince also didn’t like Paio Xue and picked the cat up, stiff as a rock.

Piao Xue opened its mouth to bite down. The Crown Prince shot an eye dagger over. Piao Xue promptly got scared. Recalling the terror of being punished by the Crown Prince, it didn’t dare to move at all and was held by those iron-like arms. zB5su3

The Crown Prince gave an eye gesture to Wang Xi. Wang Xi’s mouth twitched nonstop as he handed over a dried fish with shaky hands.

The Crown Prince stiffly placed the dried fish next to Piao Xue’s mouth. Piao Xue didn’t dare to refuse and took two bites in an alarmed manner. For the first time, it felt like little dried fish wasn’t quite so delicious anymore.

“……I fed it.” The Crown Prince said.

The Crown Prince and this cat mutually disliked each other. After finishing his task, the Crown Prince immediately put the cat down. 9CZpTL

Piao Xue promptly grabbed the rest of the dried fish with its mouth and hid behind Wang-gonggong in a flash.

Sitting in his chair, Li Yu was so amused by this scene that he couldn’t even speak.

The Crown Prince first went to bathe, changing all of his clothes from head to toe. Then he came over to hug this fish who was laughing so hard he could have fallen over anytime.

What’s so good about hugging a cat? The Crown Prince thought to himself. He liked hugging fish more. 0MloRa

Because of the incident with Chu YanYu, Piao Xue momentarily lived in the Crown Prince’s estate for a few days and enjoyed a period of luxury. It didn’t like to play with the rabbit, nor did it like to run around with the ducks. Normally, it curled up on a wall and slept all day, enjoying the sunlight.

In the end, it still couldn’t settle in at the Crown Prince’s estate.

A few days later, Piao Xue suddenly disappeared again.

Qiu-shi didn’t have any dried fish and often fed Piao Xue leftover food. However, Piao Xue still ate it like it was just as delicious as little dried fish.

Every time Wang Xi entered the palace, he would bring dried fish for Piao Xue. This time was no exception. g ZvKC

After learning that Wang Xi fed her cat quite often, Qiu-shi came over to converse quietly with him. In the passing, Wang Xi told her how Chu YanYu used Piao Xue to slander Taizi-fei and how Taizi-fei didn’t blame Piao Xue for this.

Wang Xi had originally hoped that Qiu-shi would feel grateful, however, Qiu-shi unexpectedly changed moods and said coldly: “I’m an unfortunate person who really can’t afford Taizi-fei’s kindness.”

This was indicating that she didn’t want Wang-gonggong to come again.

After all, Marquis An and the Crown Prince were mortal enemies. This relationship cannot be fixed. Qiu-shi herself hated the Crown Prince a lot as well. The reason why Piao Xue was exploited by Chu YanYu this time was ultimately because the Crown Prince’s Estate was looking after Piao Xue, which attracted other people’s attention. Qiu-shi realized this and didn’t want to get involved with the Crown Prince’s estate too much. ZIPg6K

Wang Xi can only pass along Qiu-shi’s words. For a while, Li Yu fell into silence.

He remembered that when Qiu-shi was secretly brought to their estate, she even entrusted them to take care of Piao Xue. When Wang Xi first went to feed the cat, Qiu-shi didn’t stop him either. Why would she change her decision now?

Perhaps Piao Xue’s disappearance made Qiu-shi realize that they were still opposing enemies.

……forget it. xlztG4

Li Yu only wanted to thank Piao Xue. Having the Crown Prince hug the cat in his place was enough. People always needed to know when to give and take. If this will affect the Crown Prince or put the Crown Prince in some kind of difficulty, then it’s unnecessary.

“Since it’s like this, it’s fine. Let Piao Xue be.” Li Yu said to Wang Xi.

Wang Xi let out a breath of relief. He was afraid Li Yu would be unhappy. In order to make his master happy, Wang Xi talked about some other drama that he had seen and heard.

“…… When I went to the Cold Palace this time, this old servant also encountered someone else.” Wang Xi said with a smile. 6fmQvE

“Who?” Li Yu couldn’t figure it out momentarily.

“It was Chu-gui– cough, this old servant is so forgetful. The Chu guy no longer has any status right now. At the moment, he’s only a commoner. This older servant saw him.”

…… Chu YanYu?

Li Yu almost forgot about this person. Ever since Chu YanYu was caned and then sent to the Cold Palace, Li Yu never asked about him. gnv65Q

Wang Xi saw that Li Yu didn’t plan to stop him, so he continued to say: “This old servant was barely able to recognize him with how he looks currently. However, this isn’t particularly unexpected after going to the Cold Palace…..”

The rule of survival in the Imperial Palace is based on connections and relationships, especially in a place like the Cold Palace, where it was pretty much impossible to leave. Take Qiu-shi for example. She at least had a Marquis An behind her outside of the Imperial Palace. Although Marquis An himself was not useful, as long as his estate remained, Qiu-shi was in a much better condition than having nothing at all.

As for those people who didn’t have any backing at all, and also made mistakes that caused the Emperor’s spurn, they can only resign to a life of being tormented by the servants and maids of the Cold Palace.

Those who had a bit of money spent their days a little better, but only by a little. Those without money, were basically spending their days in slow agony. ZTvSdD

When Chu YanYu arrived in the Cold Palace at first, he originally had some things of value on him. However, because he was caned, he couldn’t move very well and could only watch wide-eyed as most of his possessions were split amongst envious palace servants within seconds.

These palace servants were like starved wolves. Even a single bracelet had to be broken into pieces to be snatched away. Chu YanYu couldn’t stop them and he also needed treatment for his injuries. He wanted to find a doctor and take medicine, but got swindled several times by people he didn’t know. After that, he basically had nothing left over.

There was a servant inside the Cold Palace that knew a bit of medicine and casually treated him a bit. Taking the last of his money, they gave him a commonly used ointment.

This ointment at least saved his life, but it didn’t save his leg. Because the treatment took too long, his injured leg had already gained lasting after effects, making him limp when he walked. The scars from being hit also couldn’t be healed. However, at least he managed to live. wWRovz

Currently, Chu YanYu lived in a room where half of the roof was caved in. Everyday when he got up in the morning, there was really nothing to do. The only thing that he could do was look at the sky about his head with a pair of empty eyes.

If he didn’t try to expose Taizi-fei, if he didn’t anger the Crown Prince, how great would that be?

If he never entered the Imperial Palace to become an Imperial Concubine, how great would that be?

If he had followed the Crown Prince from the start, how great would that be? JLCqKb

If…… he never knew the 6th Prince, how great would that be.

It’s impossible for these things to have never happened, however, imagining this already became Chu YanYu’s only comfort.

The Cold Palace had a total of two meals, both distributed by the head manager of the Cold Palace. Those with money and support naturally received a little better distribution.

However, in order to treat his injury, Chu YanYu had used even the last of his money, with not even one single piece of rich fabric remaining on him. The head manager saw that he already didn’t have anything at all and just gave him a bit of leftovers and cold roast. Chu YanYu ate it like chewing wax. Despite this, he still had to swallow because not eating meant starving. Starving for the entire day, then eating a meal, and then another meal. After that it was time to return to sleep. 0TWCFG

This day, he had just finished eating one meal when suddenly someone came to find him.

Chu YanYu was just curious why someone would remember his existence. His loyal servants had all disappeared after he entered the Cold Palace. However, recall Hong-er. Most likely, none of these people had a good ending. As for others, he was already so decrepit, what’s the point of caring for others?

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Although he didn’t know who was looking for him, to remember him at a time like this was already a kind of caring. Chu YanYu fixed up the coarse simple clothes he was wearing and walked out of the room. What greeted him was the loud, crisp sound of palm, slapping Chu YanYu so hard that it made him stagger.

“Bitch, how dare you hurt my cat!” Long, shapely eyebrows raised, Qiu-shi cursed loudly. EtHX4e

Chu YanYu’s head buzzed loudly, as if a swarm of bees was flying by.

Slowly, all noises gradually faded. He could only see Qiu-shi’s lips opening and closing, but he couldn’t clearly hear what she was screaming.

To the side, a snow white cat sat crouched on the ground as it licked its paw in boredom.

Qiu-shi said some unknown thing and then pulled out a bottle from her sleeve, pouring the contents inside all over Chu YanYu…… PMLkuU

“Master, this old servant finished narrating.” Wang Xi vibrantly described the interesting events that had occurred in the Cold Palace and waited for Li Yu’s instructions.

“Wang-gonggong, are you saying, Qiu-shi, she beat Chu YanYu up?”

Li Yu felt somewhat bewildered. Just how did Qiu-shi find Chu YanYu? Did this count as a smackdown between villains?

Nevertheless, Guifei-niangniang was mighty and formidable! Chu YanYu was a powerless tussled chicken. He shouldn’t be able to win against Qiu-shi…… igUtHM

Li Yu privately hoped that Guifei-niangniang could educate Chu-Guiren a bit more. Hiding dog blood on a cat was really too disgusting!

“Master, Qiu-shi not only beat him up, she also gave Chu YanYu a tiny little gift.” Wang Xi smiled mysteriously.

Don’t misunderstand. Qiu-shi didn’t spill any drugs. Instead, she poured a bottle of dog blood. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

Chu YanYu managed to get his hands on dog blood, so why couldn’t Qiu-shi? D7o2hd

The caning that Chu YanYu received was a punishment from the Emperor and the Crown Prince. This bottle of dog blood was a punishment from Qiu-shi. They can’t be mixed together in the same discussion.

After that, Chu YanYu smelled pungent all over. Even people in the Cold Palace, who haven’t washed or bathed in many days, all walked around him.

The Cold Palace didn’t have any conditions to bathe. Chu YanYu almost went insane. He could only draw up water from the well and rinse to the best of his abilities. However, even after rinsing several times, the smell still refused to dissipate.

“…… this old servant heard that everyone inside the Cold Palace all calls him a jar of walking dog blood right now.” Wang Xi said. oBW5LY

Li Yu: “…………..”

Li Yu wanted to laugh but also thought it’d be rude. He can only dry cough a few times.

In terms of Chu YanYu, originally he had planned for each of them to mind their own business. Who let this person attempt to cause trouble first. This was probably the fate of those who wished harm to others……

Furthermore, Li Yu didn’t feel like he stole away the Crown Prince at all. IHA WN

Because back when he was a fish, he had already discovered that the Crown Prince didn’t actually like Chu YanYu.

The person that the Crown Prince liked was him. He also liked the Crown Prince and wouldn’t betray the Crown Prince. Green tea Chu can just go chill wherever is suited for him!

Li Yu told Wang Xi there’s no need to report to him news about Chu YanYu anymore. A person’s time was limited. Instead of spending it on irrelevant people, he might as well think about his hubby and sons more.

The business that his hubby had at the Ministry of Rites has gradually advanced onto the right track. He wasn’t as busy as when he first started. Perhaps the Emperor had an issue with seeing the Crown Prince idle. After the Ministry of Rites, he swiftly arranged work for the Crown Prince at the Ministry of Works. The Crown Prince always had an endless amount of things to do. However, whenever he had free time, he’d still return immediately to accompany Li Yu. 2sVip7

As for the kids, they would often travel back and forth between the Imperial Study and Crown Prince’s Estate. Lately, they’ve all started to learn how to use chopsticks.

Since Li Yu was extremely bored while raising the unborn child, he wanted to find something safe and interesting to do.

“Wang-gonggong, how about I make the hubby and kids a loving meal?”

The Baos went to the Imperial Study every day. Li Yu combined their chopstick practice with learning and came up with the idea of making the kids a loving bento. qwnMsg

Meanwhile, he had already made some for the Crown Prince before, so he was already familiar with it!

Li Yu rubbed his palms and rolled up his sleeves eagerly, planning to give the kids and the kids’ dad a pleasant surprise.

The kids didn’t like to eat cucumbers, but being picky about food was an unhealthy habit. Why don’t he just make the amazing cucumber salad that even the kids’ dad had praised to the heavens!

Wang Xi: !! HakxtS

Wang Xi once had the fortune of tasting Taizi-fei’s culinary skills. That taste was really hard to describe with words alone. Luckily the Crown Prince gave an order of silence to the entire estate. Taizi-fei still didn’t know how horrible tasting his cooking was……

Originally, this issue had passed a long time ago. Wang Xi thought that since Taizi-fei’s status was high and noble, and he was also pregnant with child, he shouldn’t remember this. However, unexpectedly, not only did he think about it, he wanted to do it immediately!

Taizi-fei wanted to cook for his highness and the little masters. Who can stop him? Wang Xi needed to inform the Crown Prince immediately!

  1. I love Xiao Yu’s way of thinking. He realised his hubby didn’t love Chu guy and doesn’t feel like he stole his hubby from that Chu-gui.. Chu guy. I’m very happy to read that he got punished for the things he had done. Thanks for the all chapters. Actually I thought I’d drop this novel and continue when there’s enough chapters but there are enough chapters everyday so Thank you (ㆁωㆁ)

  2. I can’t believe I actually feel a bit bad for ogShou. Like does he deserve it? Yes. Absolutely. As a concubine to the emperor, you can’t just try to jump over the wall and get together with his son. The emperor of a country is like the last person you wanna give a green hat to. And that wasn’t even all he did. So yeah he deserves it and I’m happy to read that he himself also recognises that it’s all his fault, but I still felt somewhat sorry and I don’t like that feeling because I don’t want to feel sorry for him. Damn, this author (and you, translator) have really made me feel for these characters and get so invested. Thanks again for translating!
    • Exactly what I thought. In the end, he’s still the guy who didn’t get what he deserved when he was at his peak. I mean, I think he deserved better. He was just blinded in love with the 6th prince in the beginning. If only he had a bit of intelligence left as when he was in the og novel, he could be living in better condition. The ‘How great that would be?’ really got me. There was really no need to step on him more, author 😭 I don’t want to also feel sorry for him but ahhhhhh whyyy 😭

    • Ikr. I know he reaped what he sowed and it was never going to change since he’s always not content with his lot in life but no one wants to kick someone when they’re down, much less read it in detail

    • Ughh, same here. I really hated myself for ferling the slightest bit of sympathy over Chu. I felt like if i were in Li Yu’s position, I wouldn’t bat an eye on his punishment because I wouldn’t be happy that someone would try to slander not only me but my kids either. But as a reader and seeing all this in omniscient pov, I just couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.

  3. Am I the only one that feels that Chu YanYu didn’t deserve such a terrible fate💀?? Whether we like it or not, Mu TianChi only ignored Chu YanYu because he liked Li Yu first. And I also don’t think that Chu YanYu had any “horrible” actions/intentions that went unpunished?

He tried to drug TianChi out of love for the 6th prince and because he was suffering but not only did they punish him half to death for it, they also used it as a way to secure their relationship??? And then, though he got his position through an unjust method, YanYu never actually did anything horrible while married to the Emperor. Even his intentions when he tried to expose Li Yu were kinda pure?? He knew his fate was to live as an unfavored concubine with none of his own goals realized so he wanted to find something to raise his status. It was selfish but not horrible? On top of that, he didn’t falsify anything??? In fact… HE WAS RIGHT??? Yes, the maid saw him turn into a fish, and yes, all of his children can do the same. YanYu’s only oversight was that Li Yu wasn’t a “demon” and that TianChi knew about it already (and YanYu did his best to verify the information by using the dog blood trap and was told that it worked…)

I really don’t think YanYu had any other crimes but he received one of the worst punishments in the novel?? Beaten half to death, robbed, doomed to a life of quiet suffering, and then humiliated again on top of that… for putting a cloth with dogs blood on a cats leg (without injuring said cat), all because he exposed the genuine truth??? Not convinced that YanYu was a bad person at all…

Anyways… Thank you for uploading!!! I love this novel so much!!!

  4. Yeah, CYY made his bed and he should lie in it but it honestly still feels excessive. Especially when compared to the other villains in the story. Most of them did far worse and either had clean deaths or much lighter punishments.

Qiu-Shi is a perfect example: she’s an ambitious, scheming concubine who plotted against the MCs (exactly like CYY), going so far as to commit arson and murder, who ended up in the Cold Palace. Yet her life is infinitely better than CYY. Why? Money and status. The author outright says this- the reason CYY is so screwed in comparison to the other villains is because he’s a lowly commoner. I get that this is totally realistic but, as a lowly commoner myself, I can’t help but feel the injustice of it.
