Luca got out of the bath and wrapped a towel around his waist, heading out, only to find the room was empty. He noticed his phone had also shifted from the side table to the bed. He walked over, and went through the recent messages. Wyatt had called him downstairs, so Ren probably went in his place. Just then, the door suddenly opened, startling Luca and causing him to lose his balance. He fell down, hitting the carpeted floor.
Ren, who opened the door to see the scene, was at loss what to do.
He saw Luca, sitting half-naked, fallen onto the floor. After hesitating for a while, Ren decided since it was partly his fault for the reason Luca ended up falling, he should help him. He walked towards his startled vampire and lifted him up. Despite being only eighteen years old, Ren had a considerable amount of strength. Not to mention that Luca was pretty light, so it was barely any trouble to lift him up.
“Thanks.” Luca muttered, as Ren helped him up. Ren nodded in acknowledgement, and looked at him worriedly.
“Um, I’m fine now.” Luca said, gazing at Ren’s hands which were wrapped around his waist. Ren suddenly realized that their position was a bit too intimate, and his face flushed.
“S-sorry!” He said, his cheeks still red. Despite himself, Luca chuckled at Ren’s shyness, forgetting his own embarrassment just a few moments ago. This child was pretty easy to tease.
Ren was years younger than him, but he already reached Luca’s forehead. His body was sturdy and well-built, and though he still had some baby fat, his face still looked mature. He had dark peach blossom eyes and soft black hair tied up neatly. In short, he was very attractive in terms of both, body and face, to the point even Luca, who prided his appearance, felt a little envious of Ren’s figure.
Ren let go of Luca quickly. He couldn’t help but think that Luca’s waist felt especially soft.
“So, what’s the rush?” Luca asked, amused by Ren’s dazed expression. Ren shook himself out of those thoughts, and answered Luca.
“Wyatt is waiting for you near the car. He asked me to tell you to come with the keys.”
Luca nodded.

Luca really regretted leaving his cane and glasses in the car. Now it would be even more challenging for them to escape, when he couldn’t even see where he was going.
Ren saw Luca’s eyes were unfocused. He looked so lost. Even his usual confidence had turned into confusion. Ren was distressed, seeing Luca so powerless.
“You can lean on my shoulder.” Ren said, guiding Luca’s hands.
Luca was surprised Ren was being so considerate, but took him up on the offer. Luca wrapped one arm around Ren. He could feel Ren’s body heat coursing through his arm.

They both walked down to the lobby, ignoring the curious onlooker’s gazes upon them. Ren let Luca sit on an empty space on the sofa and went to check out.
The same lady from last night was at the desk. She had seen Ren and Luca from the beginning, and was shocked to find that the silver-haired one was the one leaning on the youth. She never expected the shy one to be the dominant one. She really had to study up!
Ren returned the room keys, and saw the lady looking like she had just received enlightenment. She shook her head out of those thoughts, and carried on with her job.
“Well, you’re all checked out. Hope you enjoyed your stay.”
Then she lowered her voice and asked, “So, was the room to your liking?”
“It was comfortable.” Ren answered, thinking this was just a customary question asked to all the guests.
She was about to say something else, when another lady came up behind her and put her hand on the lady’s shoulder.
“Don’t interfere in others’ private matters.” She said, glaring at her cowering coworker.
The lady gulped and nodded.
Ren felt that was odd, but just left, going back to where Luca was and helped him up. They went to the parking lot, where Wyatt and the other man were waiting for them.
[Took you long enough.]
“Here are the keys, just pass me my glasses and cane.” Luca said, tossing the keys in the general direction of Wyatt.
Wyatt caught them, and opened the car. He passed Luca the items. Finally feeling more stable, Luca let go of Ren.
“Oh, Gilbert’s here too.” Luca said, surprised.
“Who do you think is going to drive you? You can’t do it by yourself.” Gilbert said.
“What exactly is the plan?” Ren asked.
[We’re splitting up. I’m taking another car and taking you to the manor, while Luca and Gilbert lead the McAllisters away from our location.]
The plan was fine, but Ren felt a bit uncomfortable being separated from Luca. Not good, he was getting too used to the other’s company.
Ren followed Wyatt to their car, while Luca and Gilbert got into theirs. Wyatt drove smoothly down the road. The two sat in silence. Ren watched the rearview mirror and saw Luca and Gilbert leave a few minutes after them, and two suspicious cars following them.
Their plan worked.
The both of them reached the manor, and went inside. It felt surreal to Ren that he had only been away from this place for only a day, and yet it felt like months. Wyatt also came inside the house, surprising Ren.
Seeing Ren’s gaze, Wyatt explained:
[I’m to stay with you until Luca arrives, in case of trouble.]
The two sat down on the sofa, and waited for the other two people to arrive.
