Cannon Fodder and the Villain Are True LoveCh9 - The Wheelchair Boss’s Little Wolf (9)

The two of them enjoyed the food together, and the atmosphere became increasingly relaxed.

After feeding Mo Yi a dumpling, Bai Ren casually asked, “By the way, I haven’t had a chance to ask. How did you suddenly appear under the bridge to save me? Were you passing by?” bUzOsd

“No.” Mo Yi shook his head, and after swallowing his food, he spoke, “The place where you fell is my territory, and I even spread those paperboards myself.”

“I see.”

Hearing that the boy used to live under a simple bridge and could only sleep on cardboard sheets in the chilly autumn nights, Bai Ren felt an intense discomfort. He continued to ask, “Did you live in Shencheng before?”

“No, I just came here recently. I didn’t live here before.” Mo Yi answered honestly. OcD3Rz

“Oh? So where did you live before?”

The man’s question made Mo Yi recall the memories of the original owner and hesitated, “I used to live in a nice big house, but I can’t remember much. Anyway, one day I woke up, and I was in a village. That village… wasn’t great. I found a chance and ran away, and then I ended up here.”

Bai Ren intended to understand the situation better, but Mo Yi, being mindful of not being the original owner, was cautious in sharing information.

Listening to Mo Yi’s description, Bai Ren couldn’t help but feel that the boy seemed intentionally abandoned.

Such situations are not uncommon in families struggling with poverty or when children have intellectual disabilities. However, considering Mo Yi’s previous statement about a decent living environment, it might not be due to poverty but possibly the second reason.

Reflecting on the details of their encounter, even though the boy didn’t know how to use chopsticks, judging solely by his appearance, he didn’t seem to have any intellectual problems.

So, what could be the reason?

While pondering this, Bai Ren saw Mo Yi earnestly picking up crumbs of pastry from a plastic bag and accidentally eating the plastic along with it. 92zApt

He reached out, somewhat helplessly, and pulled the inedible plastic from the corner of Mo Yi’s mouth. Maybe, this kid really was a bit naive.

Not knowing how long he had been wandering alone, Bai Ren sensed that Mo Yi didn’t want to share more details, so he refrained from pressing further.

The information he wanted to know could be obtained through other means.

On the tabletop, they initially expected to have leftovers with so much food, but almost everything ended up in the belly of the little guy sitting across. Nothing was left. 1XmWOd

Watching the content expression on the boy’s face as he patted his stomach, it didn’t seem like he was overstuffed. This small creature turned out to be an invisible big eater.

The timing seemed about right, and while helping Mo Yi wipe his mouth with a tissue, he called out, “Come in.”

As expected, it was his assistant, Zhu Xiuya. O1qBb5

She had obtained the key to this room earlier than expected and opened the door.

Upon entering, she saw a dangerous-looking man in her perspective, seemingly gently wiping a boy’s mouth.

Faced with the shocking scene before her, Zhu Xiuya really wanted to start an international video call to let Marvin and the others see if Boss had been possessed by something strange.

Nevertheless, she refrained from saying anything and just nodded obediently at Bai Ren. She greeted, “Boss,” and discreetly glanced at the seemingly young boy next to the man. tjUZSk

Mature red curls, delicate makeup, wearing rimless glasses, and a tall and charming figure. The glamorous woman stood at the door.

Mo Yi’s gaze was fixed on her, full of vigilance. Even though he didn’t sense any malice from her, he couldn’t completely relax.

Noticing Mo Yi’s attention shifting to the woman at the door, Bai Ren’s slightly lifted lips flattened for a moment.

His hand naturally dropped down and gently patted the boy’s back, drawing his attention. Only then did he speak to Zhu Xiuya, “Bring the things over.” SNjybK

Bai Ren’s voice interrupted the silent standoff.

His tone was as casual as usual, but it sent an inexplicable shiver down the woman’s spine.

She quickly handed over the clothes, taking a close look at the boy beside Boss.

He looked no older than seventeen or eighteen, with a slightly mismatched outfit. Despite the untidy appearance, his small face radiated vitality and health. Despite appearing thin, he gave off a sense of well-being. v5W387

However, regardless of his good looks, coupled with the disheveled hair resembling a bird’s nest and the dirty stains on his clothes, he looked like a young beggar.

Nevertheless, he met her gaze with vigilance, his eyes steady, showing no signs of evasion. Could an ordinary beggar have such a demeanor?

Zhu Xiuya began to doubt Mo Yi’s identity, but considering Bai Ren’s attitude towards him, she knew how she should present herself in front of this person.

Her boss was far more suspicious and cunning than her. After a simple judgment, Zhu Xiuya leaned toward the possibility that Boss encountered trouble, and this boy happened to rescue him. 4NL3V2

However, after saving someone’s life, shouldn’t the first reaction be to call the police? Why were they holed up in this small hotel?

Zhu Xiuya couldn’t figure it out. Still, the only reason she could think of for Boss treating this person so kindly was gratitude for saving his life.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Regardless, this person helped Bai Ren, and for that, she felt grateful.

Thinking of this, the woman looked at Mo Yi with a gentler expression, mixed with a hint of gratitude. fe9cJB

Feeling uncomfortable under her gaze, Mo Yi shifted uncomfortably. Nevertheless, it was better than hostility.

Bai Ren, however, didn’t want to see his assistant and his designated little pet exchanging meaningful glances. He promptly turned cold.

“Alright, we’ll leave in a while. You go out first and wait for us to change clothes.”

After Zhu Xiuya left, Bai Ren had Mo Yi take the toiletries to the bathroom for a quick freshening up. Meanwhile, he changed into new clothes. FbNsv7

As for himself, naturally, Mo Yi had to assist him throughout. Seeing the boy awkwardly and carefully serving him, Bai Ren finally felt at ease.

After they finished, Zhu Xiuya pushed in a foldable wheelchair prepared in advance, with two assistants behind her.

However, just as they were about to help Bai Ren out of bed, he waved them off, motioning instead to Mo Yi on the side.

The naturally dependent demeanor brought joy to Mo Yi’s heart. maXRSD

Thus, amidst the stunned gazes of the others in the room, the slender youth effortlessly lifted the nearly 1.9-meter-tall Boss from the bed and gently placed him in the wheelchair.

Not only that, but Mo Yi didn’t need assistance from others even to get downstairs. He effortlessly carried both the wheelchair and Boss, steadily making his way downstairs.

Throughout the journey from the room to the car, Zhu Xiuya’s expression had changed from shock to numbness.

She couldn’t help but internally comment, despite this young man having incredible strength, he was still just a seventeen or eighteen-year-old teenager. lX3Rx7

Boss, being a man nearing his thirties, being effortlessly lifted up and down by a teenager, and still looking so at ease – isn’t it a bit shameless?

“Thinking about something?”

A deep voice suddenly rang in her ear, meeting Zhu Xiuya’s gaze with a scrutinizing look. Zhu Xiuya snapped back to reality.

Could it be? Could it be? Did her facial expression give away her inner thoughts? q2 swT

Her year-end bonus!

“Nothing! I’m just concerned about the robust health of our wise and mighty Boss!” Zhu Xiuya adjusted her glasses, saying with a serious expression.

Shaking his head with a chuckle, Bai Ren didn’t press the matter further.

Meanwhile, Mo Yi had carried the wheelchair and Boss to the car without the need for assistance, leaving everyone around in awe. jVRWdw

As they drove to the new residence Zhu Xiuya had arranged in one of the finest hotels in Shencheng, it was already getting dark. Although Bai Ren and Mo Yi had woken up late and went through some delays, the group had no intention of returning home immediately.

Due to Bai Ren’s leg injury, they decided to stay in Shencheng for a while to ensure proper treatment.

Bai Ren decided against going to a nearby hospital, considering the possibility of the enemies interfering. Instead, Zhu Xiuya promptly contacted a trusted specialist, arranging for their swift arrival in Shencheng.

As for other matters that required investigation, it would take some time to yield results. yu1LSA

Upon reaching their accommodation and organizing everything, Zhu Xiuya briefly exchanged words with Bai Ren before taking her leave.

However, as she approached the door, noticing that her Boss’s attention was once again on the young man, she pondered for a moment and decided to thoroughly investigate the background of this young man. Despite just returning to the country, their adversaries abroad were numerous, and caution was paramount.

On the other hand, Bai Ren watched with curiosity as Mo Yi roamed around the room, tapping the armrests of chairs. He wondered when this energetic young man would settle down.

However, aside from his exploring, Mo Yi started sniffing around the room like a curious puppy. This left Bai Ren both amused and puzzled by the boy’s behavior. XNd17j

  1. Thanks for the update!

I wonder how Mo Yi would feel if he knew Bai Ren only regards him as a possession/pet at the moment. (I need to go back and reread a few chapters to recall what we know of his past relationships again.)

    • Idk but I feel like Mo Yi wouldn’t actually mind, I mean he already said he wished someone would pet him and brush his fur the same way those little girls did to their dogs, coupled with the “drifting around” and “not belonging” and “being lonely” sh t he said too. I’ve read a lot of novels with BDSM and Master/pet play theme and most often times the ‘pets’ are satisfied and basically happy to be owned because it means that their ‘master’ values them enough to take full responsibility over them, it gives them a sense of belonging. Now if someone tells me I’m their possession I’m running for the hills cuz that’s a big 🚩🚩 to me, but I’m not one to yuck in someone’s yum so do whatever makes you happy I guess.
