Along Came YouCh3 - What a Pitiful Person

When Noah opened his eyes, he saw nothing but white. He thought, “Did I actually die and went to heaven?” Noah could not help but smile at the thought. Well, he did see an angel at the bookstore a while ago.

His smile grew wider upon remembering the incident that happened before everything went black on him. Noah was in a bookstore, he was supposed to hunt for a book upon her sister’s request. However, instead of a certain book, Noah found something…rather, someone. For the first time in his life, he found someone with a remarkable beauty… and it was a man! No, the gender was not a problem. Noah had been living in this world for twenty one years, but it was the first time he was amazed by someone’s beauty. vdTnVq

You see, Noah was pretty popular in his circle. Girls would flock to him just to catch his attention. Talent scouts were eager to sign him up into their agencies. Noah obviously refused all of them. He simply didn’t care. His world was full of beautiful people with high statuses, charming maidens with ulterior motives, and other glitter and gold shit.

But, Noah was so not into them. Ever since he was a kid, all those things would not create even a dent in his emotions. No one in his world moved his heart no matter how beautiful or sparkling they were.

That’s why Noah’s encounter with the beautiful man at the bookstore left a huge impact on him. It was the first time he felt his heart skipped a beat. Noah could look at the man’s face for a lifetime without even blinking. He couldn’t really point out why, that was just the way it is. Ah, if only he could see the man again. Well, he didn’t have any idea what he wanted to do when he see the man again. He just wanted to see him. For the reason—he would think about it hard…well, next time.

“Oh, you’re finally awake!“ K1emFD

Noah saw a woman clad in white clothes. She had a smile on her face. She seemed like in her mid-thirties or so. Noah sighed and said, “So, I really did die…”

The woman chuckled. “What are you saying, boy? You’re in the hospital.”

It was Noah’s turn to laugh. “Oh! I thought you’re an angle because you are dressed in white.” He was in the mood to joke around, so, he kept on rumbling nonsense. “So, I am dying, huh? How long do I have to live?“

The female nurse answered, “It was just fatigue.” She then proceeded to give Noah the details. “We gave you an IV drip, but, it still took you a day and a half to wake up.”

Noah could not believe what he heard. “You mean, I’ve been sleeping for a day and a half? Does my family know I’m here?“

The nurse shook her head.  “No. But, your friends were here earlier. They said they’ll be back later. When they do, you can be discharged. Next time, do not party hard. I understand that you’re still young, though, it doesn’t mean you can abuse your body to this extent.”

Noah did not answer. He just smiled at the kind-hearted nurse. If only he really did party hard. But, the truth was far from it. Good thing, his family didn’t know what happened to him. At least, that made him relaxed.

While Addie, the guy with a sweet face and voice, gave him a concern look. “How are you feeling, Noah?“

He answered, “Great!“ Noah looked at his friends with gratitude. “Thank you for being here. How did you know I’m in the hospital?“

It was Addie who answered his question. “Well, you know how Nico likes to pester you with calls, right? Always bothering you to practice even though we know you’re busy. So, as usual, he kept on calling you, but to no avail. Until, someone answered and told Nico you’re in the hospital.” cG7Ow1

Noah understood the situation. “It must be the nurse who told—”

Nico interrupted him. “No, it was not. It was the guy who brought you to this hospital.”

Noah nodded. “Do you know the guy who helped me? Did you talk to him?“

Addie answered, “When Nico and I arrived, the guy had already left.” u2mSg4

Noah could not help but sigh. “How can I express my gratitude to the person who helped me, if we do not have an idea who he is?“ Noah did not want to owe anyone. So, he had this habit of returning every favor he owed.

Addie handed him a piece of paper. “Based on the nurse’s story, the guy who helped you did not want to leave until someone from your family knew about your condition. When he spoke with Nico on the phone and was assured that we’ll be arriving to take care of you, the guy gave his phone number and told the nurse to call him if something wrong came up.”

Noah took the piece of paper from Addie. He saw a series of numbers written on it.

Nico, the eternal party pooper, said in a sullen voice. “Can we all go home now? Tomorrow, let’s have a band practice!“ Nxd0Yf

Noah laughed. “Though, we still don’t have a band vocalist!“

The three of them sighed. All roads lead to doom.

When Noah reached his home, it was already nine in the evening. After being discharged from the hospital, his two friends dragged him into a restaurant to eat. Afterwards, they went into Nico’s favorite music equipment store. Addie and Noah just went with the flow. Out of the three of them, it was Nico who was the most serious when it comes to music. jgCK40

Noah pressed his door code. Silence welcomed him upon opening the door. Well, that was to be expected because he was living alone since he entered university.

Noah immediately took a shower. After he was done he remembered to charge his phone. The battery got drained when he was still in the hospital. He turned on his phone while it was being charged. Noah wanted to contact the person who brought him to the hospital. He was about to call the person when his phone rang. It was his sister.

Noah answered the call. “Natalie…”

His sister didn’t beat around the bush. “Where’s my book? 9lqpR7

Oh, shoot! He thought of an alibi. “I forgot.” There. Noah was too tired to think.

Obviously, his sister was angry. “I hate you! I really do! How can you forget?“

Noah laughed. “Busy…”

Natalie roared, “Do not talk to me again!” Then, she hung up. XcVRCz

Noah didn’t take what his sister said to heart. He was used to Natalie’s tantrums. His sister was already in senior high, though, her temper reduced her into the likes of a primary student.

Natalie grew up pampered because she was the only daughter in the family. Noah loved his sister, so, he would tolerate her antics. The book she was talking about would be easily bought online, but, with Natalie’s habit of bothering Noah for everything—it was not the first time something like this had happened.

Noah’s phone rang again. His laughter continued for he thought the caller was again his sister. But, when he looked at his phone, Noah’s smile faded.

He answered the phone with a serious tone. “Hello, brother.” BYsVi3

There was only silence from the other line. Noah patiently waited.

After a full minute had passed, Noah heard a deep voice speak. “I heard you were hospitalized…”

Noah held his phone tightly. “Did Nico tell you about it?“

His brother replied, “I have my own means to know.” 7GX9ha

Oh, fuck. Noah sighed.

His brother was not yet done. “Do not show even a moment of weakness to others. It’s our family rule.”

Noah felt frustrated. “I know.”

He expected for the call to be ended by his brother. But, Noah was surprised when his brother said, “Your business proposal is pretty impressive. I am expecting great things from you. Goodbye, Noah.” The call had ended. 30qnmB

Noah sat on his bed. It was the first time his big brother praised his work. It was worth all the sleepless nights he endured just to perfect his work. Damn. He had a long way to go. Though, for tonight, he would surely sleep with a smile on his face.

  1. So he’s exhausted to the point of collapsing but his sister is spoiled and demanding. I’m definitely curious about this family. And he called Fran an angel 😍
