The Black Saint is My StalkerCh39 - A lot freakier than he imagined

The room which the werewolf girl told him about was not too difficult to find. It was located at the end of the north hall, which, unlike the rest of the building was eerily unoccupied. That was, aside from the two uniformed hunters that stood attentive by the door at the very end. The NUM (New United Merriva) emblem was etched into their breasts, which they held out proudly.

Han Li gulped but he kept moving forward, the red liquid sloshing in the cup as he walked. When he approached the door, he could feel eyes on him, but otherwise, the hunters did not move and did not stop him when he reached for the handle. 4u1EIC

Candlelight greeted him from within. There was the soft rustling of chain and fabric. Scented candles mixed with copper. Han Li turned up his nose, trying not to gag on the smell of blood.

There was a large, king-sized bed in the middle of the room. The decorations were baroque in style, with the decorative pillars and fanciful picture frames encasing dramatic paintings. It was passé but a touch of modernity can be glimmered from the widescreen TV that was mounted on the wall, or the lampshades that stood on each side of the bed currently turned off.

A single figure could be seen lying in bed, his long limbs draped over silken sheets. There were glasses around him, on the bed, the floor, and some still retaining some red residue, and there was blood stained upon the bed as well.

A head of silver lifted, revealing a ghastly face and features more akin to a doll’s than human. Round eyes with fanning silver lashes batted at him, a smile pulled at pale lips. “Hello there, sugar.” His voice was unexpectedly low, not quite matching with the petite, feminine visage. There was a collar around his neck, silver and it was chained to the floor, jingling with every movement he made. The thin, white neck beneath the collar had been dyed red, the flesh there raw and bloodied. His skin was not reacting well to the metal. ZGpKQV

Han Li stood there like an awkward statue. “Erm…” No one ever taught him anything about vampire etiquette and this was the first time he’d ever seen a noble blood up close! Also what the heck was going on here?

He had no idea what he was expecting in the first place, to be honest.

The vampire tilted his head and blinked slowly. “That’s a cute face I’ve not seen before. Come closer, child.” His voice was like honey and cedarwood, smoky and sweet at the same time. Han Li was instantly drawn.

Only when he took two steps he stopped, body halting with a scowl. “Was that…enchantment?” he spat, both annoyed and shocked. He’d never been enchanted by a vampire before due to his disposition.

The vampire grinned, showing off tinges of blood between his teeth. “Forgive me for my rudeness, it was no intent of mine to alarm!” He laughed, “But you, child, come into my lair as a stranger while I’m woefully intoxicated. Can you really blame this one?”

Han Li gulped, the guy was right. “Erm yeah, sorry about that, my bad and all. I just came to deliver this because no one else wanted to come, you know?”

Han Li grimaced, realizing that he would have to approach the vampire to hand him the blood. Iszak was chained in place and couldn’t move much beyond the bounds of his bed. B EdF1

“Han Li.” He said, hoping to quickly deposit the cup of blood and make his escape.

But just as he approached, a pale hand reached out and grabbed his wrist instead of the cup, pulling Han Li in. He cursed, steps stuttering but Izsak’s grip was so tight that the glass in his hand didn’t even quake while Han Li was busy tripping over his own two feet.

“Han Li!” Iszak chirped, “Han Ruyan’s spawn no doubt? Oh you’re quite different from the Immortal of Star Mirror Lake, aren’t you?”

“I—” Han Li tried to pull back to no avail, Iszak’s cold fingers were a vice. The hair on the back of Han Li’s neck was standing on edge and his blood was churning, instincts on fire. The ring against his collar seared his skin and he wanted to flee. mMPBUi

Iszak laughed, eyes crescenting as fangs dropped from his gums. When Han Li’s grip around the cup loosened, black, wispy smoke came forth to catch the cup. “You’re so cute! Will you allow me a taste? With Ruyan’s blood combined with that of a—”

And just when Han Li could practically feel his demonic power boiling just beneath the surface of his skin, the vampire let go. He stumbled backward and fell into a sturdy, human-shaped pillar. Warmth surrounded Han Li and it made him dizzy. It was divine power, he realized in a haze.

“Saint of Eternity!” Iszak chirped in an octave higher, finally sitting up on his bed, “To what do I owe the honor?” He was smiling still, much a pleased child who’d been given his birthday present.

“Lord Bathory,” Graham hummed, “do keep your fangs off of others in a state of intoxication. It is against Association-approved guidance of conduct for vampires.” 1L nCd

“Huh?” The vampire blinked as he scratched his head. “Oh do forgive me, it’s so hard to think straight right now. Hmmm, these restraints ought to work, and if I’m a naughty boy, those two big bulky guys outside should take care of things, no?”

“…No,” Graham’s tone was short.

Iszak sighed and shook his head like a dog. “Pardon me, these circumstances are a little confusing.” He set the cup of werewolf blood aside. “As much as I am not exactly inclined, perhaps it is best for me to sober up.”

“I would prefer that,” Graham said. 0BQw7P

The vampire raised a brow, “Then will you help me?” A sly grin stretched his delicate face and Han Li decided that this Iszak guy was likely a snake. He felt like a bit of an idiot standing there by Graham’s side when this guy had just been a total dick to him earlier. But how could Han Li resist? Especially when he had a front-row seat of something so interesting.

Graham let out a breath that was akin to a sigh. He said nothing when pulling out a switchblade from his pocket and putting the blade to his palm. Iszak opened his mouth, his tongue lulling like a man dying from thirst out in the desert. Han Li found himself mesmerized, watching the red fluid dribble down and Iszak’s Adam’s Apple bob.

Han Li tore his eyes away, his cheeks growing hot for reasons he couldn’t understand.

Before he knew it, he was being ushered out with Graham’s hand on his back, still dizzy from the sudden exposure to dense, divine power. The two NUM guards were still standing outside, not having moved an inch since Han Li had entered the room. They only saluted the Saint of Eternity in passing and it was only later that Han Li realized they hadn’t bothered to step in when he was in danger. Y0EtSb

He didn’t know how to feel about that because he still didn’t know how to feel about one Graham Assholey. Who, by the way, was still silently leading him down the halls as though Han Li had just been a damsel rescued from distress.

Barring the fact that he kind of was, but it was due to confusion, dammit! And not because he was helpless (maybe only a little, noble bloods were a lot freakier than he imagined).

Han Li stopped in his tracks, prompting the Saint of Eternity to pause as well. Graham looked over his shoulder but said nothing.

Arms crossed over his chest, Han Li was still trying to shake off the jitters from meeting that noble blood. “Don’t you have something to say to me?” E9D3z8

“I apologize,” Graham said immediately. But with a face so stoic, Han Li found there was little satisfaction to be found. Likely because he couldn’t read any signs of sincerity.

“For?” He pressed, annoyed but hopeful.

“…For behaving rudely towards you. It was…poor conduct on my half, I will see that it does not happen again.” There was that light breath that left him, the subtle fall of his shoulders. Han Li really wanted to believe that these things meant something but he was never certain. And he was left confused and guessing.

With a frown, Han Li continued, “…Right. I just really don’t get why you acted so pissy. It really threw me off. And I’m having a hard time staying annoyed at you because I just don’t get it, dammit.” Restlessness was in his legs and he shifted his weight from left to right, then back. rAE76V

“Pissy…” Graham repeated slowly, and if the situation was so awkward and tense, Han Li might have laughed hearing that word come out of the Saint of Eternity’s lips. “Sincerely, I had only wished to display my frustrations with you. Though it does seem that the method worked.”

Wait.

“What?”

Graham was…frustrated? How come Han Li didn’t pick up on that at all? And what could he have done to even piss off the Saint of Eternity? He was once again, stunned and stood there like an idiot. C3i n0

So Graham touched his chin with a gloved finger and spoke, “Hm. In the future, I might consider doing this again if such a circumstance arises. It is fine, as long as I apologize later, correct?”

Huh!? “That’s not how things work!”

  1. patpat don’t worry, it is totally normal to fangirl over random characters (つ✧ω✧)つ

Thank you for the chapter!!! ❤️❤️

  2. Oh, a piece of info about Han Li’s mother, thank you Mr. Vampire! So she was the Immortal of Star Mirror Lake (whatever and wherever that is). That explains the looooong friendship with Graham.

AND Han Li, please, be a dear in your spare time, and teach this Saint how to PROPERLY convey emotions, because for now he is just too 🤦

    Thank you for the chapter!!!

    • U w U;;; one day, we will find out what that means. I HOPE–

b-baby steps. BABY STEPS. Else he might get overwhelmed LOLOLOL

  3. I’m not gonna comment on any of these fools because they are all kind of emotionally dumb right now. And only Han LI is okay because he is like 19 or however old. Everyone else should know how to act, speak, and communicate. >_< Even Assholey.

    thanks for the chapter! <3

    • Weeps I won’t lie, I grew up around adults that never communicate anything ahahha and when they do, they’re not really interested in what other people say. Even now(I’m a working adult living on my own!), I find most people around me don’t talk about things or don’t listen to other people properly, so I find that this is pretty normal to me WEEPS.

I’m not saying it’s a good thing but, it just happens, as frustrating as it is and has nothing to do with age.

  4. Hello! New reader here ^^

I’m loving your story! Urban fantasy is one of my favorite genres so that was already a huge point for me! I’m loving Han Li, he’s a very relatable character, and his struggles are so real and vivid, I want to hug him and give him a cookie T wT

For Mr. Assholy, he is very interesting, enough to get my attention but still to mysterious for me to have an opinion, but thats another reason for me to keep reading, right?? ᕦʕ •ᴥ•ʔᕤ

    Very excited for future chapters!!!

    • WEEPS thank you for reading ; w ; <3 <3 <3
I-I hope I can entice you to stick around.. unfortunately this story is full of buffoonery…AHHHH

  5. Yeeeet so the mom was an immortal! (If I’m reading this right) Guessing that the reaction between the demon child growing in her and her holy blood is what killed her?

Thank you for the chapter! Can’t wait for moooorrreeeeee 🤤💖
