I think he just wants to make Lilius realize his own potential in being a threat. In general he seems like an inconsidered person, but maybe he also said these cruel things in order to confirm a bit more information through Lilius’ reaction and to make him aware of his own problems.
It kinda seems like he truly cares for Jill’s safety but probably also can’t forgive him for whatever happened, so he’s warning Lilius.

This is getting dark. So Lilius has holes in his memories of his past, were the missing memories erased by someone or he erased them himself. Even now, nope. Still won’t tolerate him. Shadow can go tell his sob story somewhere else where he isn’t probably irreversibly fucking up someone’s psyche. He could have gone about this in SO many different ways, but he chose to make a victim relive their trauma. All for what. This is utterly disgusting, no matter the motive, and I am absolutely not okay with this.
