  1. I had to reread chapter 172 because I just don’t get it… is she just impulsively causing trouble because she feels slighted??? I don’t see the benefit to her otherwise… her conversation with nameless swordsman/ransomer doesn’t show how she gets anything in exchange either unless she also wants a hand on the full copy of the song…

    • I don’t think there is any benefit, she wants to take revenge, and she just wants to get rid of the bird, so they will not have proof, or so she thinks. She is clearly wrong, and she is an idiot…

    • Well, it’s because their whole clan relies on getting married into the royal bird family. Not to mention they sacrificed a lot to be able to marry (it was even mentioned that they drug young girls so they can become resilient to doing the deed) because it is the only way they get power. When they couldn’t, they probably lost the majority of their power and the whole clan became sort of a joke amongst the other clans. I’m sure they treated her badly since it failed when it was her turn. The built up resentment is why she made such a rash decision

  10. I had assumed that her goal would automatically switch to being married to Feng’er some day, considering nobody will expect an heir out of Chen Ziqi (I still haven’t ruled it out though). Now, even if Feng’er is the only one left to continue the Phoenix line, anyone except Qing Luo would be a better choice. Personally, I’m enamored with the Ling girls. The Qing clan leader deserves whatever he gets. No matter how it happens, being a clan leader should come with an expectation of responsibility equal to the privileges, I would think. I wonder if Fengfeng will turn human and scare the everliving crap out of a swordsman.
