She didn’t plan to pit Mu He and only ran away when Mu He told her to. She was gonna stay with the little brother Mu He at first and said sorry when she finally escaped. She’s a stranger to Mu He and had no obligation to shelter him like a mom/sister. She had insufficient power to protect anyone and take on the monster, so obviously, she can only run and hope she could bring someone over before Mu He died.
When Mu He said, /Shizun wouldn’t have left me/, that’s because Shizun’s stubbornly principled and has the strength to execute his ideals. Even if Shizun doesn’t have strength, he still has his experience and talisman to protect Mu He somehow until help arrive, or carry him and run away together.
