Besides, Jian Yi is acting like a fairly stereotypical transmigrator protaginist as it is. Confident to the point of arrogance, forcing the plot in the direction he wants without a thought of the potiental consequences, little respect for the book characters and how they feel about his actions, acts like he’s invincible, etc. It’s just that we’re seeing things from another’s prespective and realizing how annoying these traits actually are. I have full confidence he’ll get better as a character. Also, Wen Xuan hasn’t really shown much of his character and thoughts, so I can’t tell if he’s really as selfless and naive as he appears or if there is a lot more to him, like just seeing the tip on an iceberg.
