“The weather forecast is right.” R7ozdI

With the morning sun shining on him, Yan Qiu tightened his scarf around him and held Ji Xinglan’s arm as they walked out of the empty office building. The weather forecast stated that the winter last year was the coldest in Yixing City in ten years.

In comparison, it only snowed once this winter. The snow on the ground was not thick and would melt soon.

Yan Qiu knew that the weather was not the only thing changing.

After he got together with Ji Xinglan, his entire world was warm and bright, as if he had finally broken through a shell and saw the first rays of light.  XdgVbm

Not far in the distance was the boundless future welcoming him—it was a future that belonged to both of them.

……

On New Year’s eve, Yan Qiu gathered together with his friends from the past.

Both Xie Yu and Li Chengyan joined the military. Even though they did not belong in the same office building and had a hard time running into each other on usual days, whenever they had a rest day, Xie Yu would always drag Li Chengyan over to Yan Qiu’s house, and Yan Qiu’s house had practically turned into his second home.

Although Yan Qiu rarely met up with his old friends, he could feel that they had changed a lot. The honest Da Long had a girlfriend now, and she was a gentle beta girl. She still wore a long dress even when it was warm outside.

Lin Wei came back before Christmas. Tonight was the last day she would be in the country before she left again, so she came over for the gathering as well.

While eating, Yan Qiu remembered Ji Xinglan, who stayed at home alone to take care of the babies. He quietly used his terminal to send him a message.

When he heard the others grumble about the pains of an adult, such as their bosses refusing to give them overwork pay or when their families urged them to go on blind dates to find a partner, he found that their lives as students had been perfect.  v1p3ri

The moment he thought about it, Yan Qiu found that he had quite a relaxing life.

When he worked during the day, he sat across from Ji Xinglan. Neither of them bothered the other. However, the moment they looked up to each other, and they would feel at ease.

He did not need to put in a lot of effort to take care of the babies. He just needed to play with the babies when he went home at night. The only thing that was hard for him was that he had to occasionally stay with Ji Xinglan on the night shift.

However, when the beginning of spring rolled over, the two babies learned how to crawl, and Yan Qiu soon found that life was no longer relaxing.  1ohAHx

The two babies practically learned how to crawl at the same time, and they tormented Yan Qiu.

When Yan Qiu put them on the blanket and went to make milk for them, he would only find one baby remaining on the blanket when he came back.

“Where is Xing Xing?” Yan Qiu stared at Qiu Qiu obediently remaining on the blanket while he kicked his feet. No matter what, he did not look like he ate Xing Xing.

Yan Qiu searched around the house, but he could not find Xing Xing. Anxious, he took out his terminal and called the father.  q1LxWd

When he saw that Yan Qiu was unable to find him, Xing Xing laughed happily.

Yan Qiu reached out to grab Xing Xing from under the bed before he patted him free of dust. Fortunately, Ji Xinglan was a clean freak, and he had to clean the room twice every day. He also cleaned the space under the bed, so aside from rubbing his butt on the wall and getting dust on it, his body was not dirty.  GmxuNh

Yan Qiu was in a hurry to grab the baby, and he tossed aside his terminal before the call went through. Meanwhile, Ji Xinglan had already answered the call and said “hello” a few times, but did not hear Yan Qiu’s voice. He felt puzzled, but he then heard bits and pieces of a conversation from the other side of the phone.

Yan Qiu was talking to someone. “…Why were you hiding under the bed. When Ji Xinglan comes home and sees this, he’s going to hit you…”

Ji Xinglan said nothing. ‘Who’s hiding under their bed? A lover?!’

“Yan Qiu.” His voice turned grave, and he called out sternly.  MCfJ 9

Yan Qiu finally noticed the terminal he tossed on the bed and picked it up with the baby in his arms.

“Hello?” Before Ji Xinglan could ask what was going on, he heard Yan Qiu notifying him with an even more serious tone that things were bad now because his son learned how to crawl. He sounded just like he was a contact for secret service agents.

As the father, Ji Xinglan was also tormented by Xing Xing, and he gained a realization that he had been right to want an omega baby in the past.

“…Who learned how to crawl?” Ji Xinglan asked tentatively.  fjLzeG

And just as he expected, Yan Qiu gave him the answer he did not want to hear the most. “Xing Xing.”

After he hung up, Ji Xinglan grabbed his hair in the meeting room.

……

Qiu Qiu learned how to crawl three days later. When Ji Xinglan finally grabbed Xing Xing while he was crawling around and used a leash to pull him back, he suddenly saw Qiu Qiu waking him on the cushion before he sat up and used his arms and legs to crawl away from Ji Xinglan.  RJN0AK

Ji Xinglan found himself speechless.

The babies had just learned how to crawl, so they were very excited. They used their tender arms and legs to crawl around, and they were quite agile.

Right when he grabbed a butt naked baby crawling around, another one started crawling.

Yan Qiu felt troubled, as if he was rearing three cats in the house. When Xie Yu occasionally came over to visit, there would then be four animals crawling on the floor.  XpfAw9

Sometimes, the babies decided to be naughty and refused to get out from under the table, so Yan Qiu had to crawl with them and grab them.

Yan Qiu originally wanted to be merciless and shut them in the nursery, but when he saw the babies sitting in front of the door and looking sad while their pure eyes shone in disappointment, he could not bear it and let them roam around the house.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Xing Xing was active. Not only was he naughty, but he also had to drag his brother along in his naughty adventures as well.

Since he was worried that they would run into stuff while they crawled around, Yan Qiu spent an entire morning during the weekend sticking crash pads all over the house. hYVl5i

Xing Xing finally grew hair at this point. He had shiny black hair, which was the same as his eye color.

Xing Xing had a pair of deep-set, large eyes. His eyelashes were thick and beautiful, and he had fair skin. Once he grew up, he was definitely going to become a handsome alpha with black hair and black eyes.

But now, Xing Xing was still too young. He only knew how to crawl around in his open-crotch pants, acting quite fiercely.

Yan Qiu sighed in resignation. He believed that the baby was going to be wild once he grew up, and he was going to be a troublemaker that no one could control.  Wb3djc

Yan Qiu had originally made a bet with Ji Xinglan to see what sort of color Xing Xing’s hair would be.

“It’s definitely black,” Ji Xinglan said firmly. “It’ll be like his eyes. He’ll have pure black hair.”

“…He might actually have no hair once he grows up,” Yan Qiu said.

Xing Xing crawled around with his newly grown black hair and blinked while turning his head to look at him. He did not know why Yan Qiu would degrade his beautiful hair.  1PLIlZ

Qiu Qiu leaned against Yan Qiu’s arms and held the baby bottle in his fair and chubby hands while sucked on it.

Yan Qiu tugged at his curls in satisfaction and thought. ‘Omega babies are the most obedient, seriously.’

The moment Yan Qiu called out to him, Qiu Qiu would crawl over to get a hug from his father.

He smelled the faint milky scent, and Yan Qiu could not resist poking his cheek. He said to Ji Xinglan, “Qiu Qiu is definitely going to be a beautiful cutie once he grows up.” KCuvrL

Qiu Qiu could not understand what they said. Once he finished eating, he pushed the bottle away and let out a silent burp. There was happiness on his young face.

…….

Now that the babies learned how to crawl, Yan Qiu was not the one who suffered the most from it, and neither was Ji Xinglan.

The one who suffered the most in the house was the cat, Lan Lan.  ZvxRBJ

Xing Xing was incredibly curious about this furry creature at home. All the toys in the nursery could not move, but this toy could.

Not only could it move, but it could also jump around. This largely stimulated Xing Xing’s curiosity and territorial instincts.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

The moment Yan Qiu did not pay attention to him, Lan Lan would be chased away by Xing Xing.

Lan Lan was originally not afraid of people, and he was friendly to the babies. They were both four-legged creatures, and the babies were not as fast as the cat, anyway, but Xing Xing loved grabbing its tail and biting on it while Lan Lan lay on the floor and was not on guard.  orLdpa

Fortunately, the baby had not grown all of his teeth, and he could not cause substantial damage to the cat.

Yan Qiu quickly separated them and brought Lan Lan out. He still remembered how Xing Xing had nibbled on the cat’s head while drooling when he was three months old, and he came out of it with a mouth full of fur.

Lan Lan was terrified of the alpha’s bullying, and it ran away whenever it saw Xing Xing, but it was still very interested in the nice-smelling and soft Qiu Qiu.

Liking babies seemed to be an instinct within all animals.  4pKT3C

When Xing Xing saw the kitten getting closer quietly to sniff his brother, Xing Xing immediately became possessive of Qiu Qiu and swung his fists to chase the cat away before hugging his brother.

Qiu Qiu calmly moved his mouth, as if he was eating something, and he slowly spat out a shiny bubble.

Xing Xing moved too much, and he accidentally knocked their heads together. Qiu Qiu was in pain, and the corners of his mouth and eyes immediately turned down because of pain and sadness. Tears spilled out of his eyes, and he started bawling.

Qiu Qiu had the looks of a mixed-blood baby, and he looked as exquisite and beautiful as a doll. The moment they saw him cry, everyone panicked.  yhpMwT

The baby was too cute. They could not bear seeing him cry.

In a flurry of motion, Yan Qiu and Ji Xinglan tried to coax him to stop crying. They kissed and rubbed the injured part. Qiu Qiu seldom cried, but the moment he did, tears would start spilling nonstop like a flood, and his fathers felt helpless whenever he did this.

In the end, to comfort him, Xing Xing kissed Qiu Qiu’s cheek. Qiu Qiu was stunned for a moment before he started giggling.

“Look. The older brother’s comfort is the most useful.” Yan Qiu and Ji Xinglan looked at each other before they shook their heads in resignation. As if to comfort them, they stroked the two babies’ heads.  AjUyqo

After Qiu Qiu stopped crying and started smiling, he stared at Yan Qiu, then at Ji Xinglan. After that, he said something muffled, “Pa…”

Yan Qiu was stunned.

The babies already knew how to babble and make all sorts of sounds to express their emotions, but this was the first time one of them clearly said the word “Pa”.

Yan Qiu had made a bet with Ji Xinglan long ago that he would make the babies call him papa, so he often taught the babies how to speak with great gusto.  8mi1DX

Qiu Qiu’s gaze moved between them before he called Ji Xinglan sweetly, “Pa…”

Ji Xinglan was delighted as well, and he happily responded to it.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Yan Qiu found himself speechless, and he was not happy. He poked Qiu Qiu’s face. “Qiu Qiu, good boy, I’m the father.”

But Qiu Qiu was already eight months old, and he was not easy to fool. He nibbled at his hand while he blinked and babbled in Yan Qiu’s direction before he said two syllables sweetly, “Mama.” NIEyVG

“…”

“Unfair!” Yan Qiu protested indignantly, “Why is Qiu Qiu only willing to call you the father?!”

When Ji Xinglan saw that he was so angry that he puffed out his cheeks like a seal, he lowered his head and smiled in resignation before he hugged Yan Qiu and kissed him. “Alright, you’re the dad. Why are you lowering yourself to the level of a baby?”

  1. I find it so hard to immerse into this novel bc that’s not how parenting is supposed to work at all… kids crawl yes but that’s what baby fences and gates are for, you set up an area to have the kids go wherever the PARENTS allow them to be… (I know I know, omegaverse isn’t exactly real either but still!!!)

    • They couldn’t bear to put fences and gates or lock their kids in the nursery room as it was said on the text, the kids would have tears on their faces. Many parent’s couldn’t bear to see their kids being limited of freedom and crying for a long time because of it.

      • Yeah that’s the unbelievable part… if they can’t bear tears on a baby ( when they cry between hungry, poopy, sleepy LOL yes just baby things) then it’s pretty bad parenting… if a kid cries you it doesn’t mean give it everything they want if it’s not reasonable. And he next chapters where the babies crawl out into the garden without grandma knowing?? Horrifying to think about if that’s my children tbh

        • I’ve had taken care of my little cousins and friend’s little sisters and little kid neighbors. Put them in a place that restricts their movements or explorations and they’ll cry all day. They really won’t stop, their cries would pierce everyone’s ear then later on the babies would start coughing, having wet backs and sometimes even having fever at night. Let the kids wander and fill their curiousity, don’t restrict their movements. What you’re suggesting is left them in a cage where they could get their head stuck in between fences (happened to one of our former neighbor kid although they didn’t left the kid alone, it’s the kid wanna wander around and just suddenly inserted his head in between the fences and yes, accidents always happens with kids) and don’t let them wander around on their own house and they won’t learn which is dangerous. Kids like that would be those who doesn’t know the limit and would just do crazy stuff because they don’t think it’s dangerous because they’re often just being restricted instead of learning. You’re having a child, not a dog you can just restrict the movement, let them exercise their bones and just guide them. The only problem of this couple is that they have two kids and that time our MC have something to do and Xinglan’s changing the diaper of the other but that’s alright. Infact they’re around the kids all the time and if they can’t then there’s Xinglan’s mom. Their house is pretty safe as it said they’ve covered it with carpets and the babies was always on their view to the point of not having a time for each other and where’s the bad parenting in that? Also, the cry between baby things you said are different from a cry of a baby that’s begging their parents not to lock them up when you can just keep an eye on them or your house is pretty safe for them because that’s your own house. They knew they made it safe for them. What’s you’re suggesting is let the grandma cook and left the babies on a fence? That’s not how parenting works. Lastly, who would’ve thought that someone would open the door for the babies? Accidents happens but that doesn’t mean you should lock up a child just because of it. Let them explore and tell them why it’s bad and what could’ve happened, kids aren’t dumb to know if it’s bad when you say it’s bad. Infact they’ll cutely repeat how a thing is bad for them, how a food can give them toothache, etc. Trust them and they’ll do what you trust them to do. Our newly couple are still learning, they’re new to parenting, now they learn not to lie to their children because they’ll believed it, now they learned how to keep the kids not rolling out of the sofa because putting them alone for even a little bit on the sofa isn’t ideal. They are learning and that’s a part of parenting. Give them a break.

Not having a fence is bad parenting? Does having a fence makes a family completly safe or superior? Would a fence gave your child a safety or would it restricts you even for a second on going near your child if there’s an emergency? There are different types of parenting and their parenting is a type of parenting where they’re more inclined to take care of their child with their own hands while guiding them to be independent. I don’t see any bad parenting here where everything that you’re talking about is an accident that can happen everywhere. If you’re scared of even just a little accident, how would you live? Inside a cage?

Again, the time where the kids burry the dino, they didn’t get out of the fence of the backyard because they either can’t as our characters are rich and made sure their yard place is safe and have fence with gates, obviously or the kids don’t dare to as their parents always try to tell them not to go too far like how a mom would do when you’re letting them freely play but guiding them at the same time. (They did as they keep chasing the kids under tables telling them that going too far and they won’t be able to reach them which is bad and the kids keep teasing them by going again and again under the tables a lot of times because they knew that they’re pretty safe and it is safe but it also builds on the child what their limits is, what they can, should and don’t) They sounds pretty close to their parents now aren’t they?

Again, the time where the kids got out are a completely accident.

There are different kind of parenting and theirs are still on the learning to the building of their type but I won’t call it bad parenting.

          • Are you okay there? You have a baby gate WHILE being under supervision. They are babies. Infants. You don’t leave them unsupervised when they’re awake for a pretty good reason. I’m not even gonna read all that because im not gonna normalize bad parenting which is really obvious in the story

            . Have a nice day.

      • True but that only what makes us more adventurous, active and strong. It’s not bad parenting. Gosh. Infact, other than relying on the fence, they did their best to take care of the kids with their own hands. 😍

      • I’m Asian and all the people that can afford a fenced supervised play area do so.. because it’s safer for the kids. I mean you can skip a gated area as long as they’re under adequate supervision. The thing I’m criticizing in the story is.. this clearly isn’t adequate supervision. Under 1 year olds getting out of the house into a GARDEN? WTF?

        • As I said before that was an accident and no one would’ve expected that. If you’re supervising your kid you wouldn’t need that fences as you’re always beside them. They already put carpet, sticky crash pads all over and clean every nook of the house just to make sure it is safe for them to roam around. It’s not bad parenting to let your kids roam in their own house, you made it safe. Just because you and other households are like that doesn’t mean other households have bad parenting. The time the kids got out is purely accidental. No one would thought that someone would open the door for them.

        • The kids were in an adequate supervision. Accidents happen, if you’re going to blame the parents for a kitten who opened the door as bad parenting then there’s something wrong with you.

          • In the first place, the plot has unrealistic and pretty unhealthy relationship bc ML is “possessive” aka has zero trust in his partner, even though he’s the one lying over and over to him (married/pregnant which I will overlook this red flag bc there wouldn’t be a plot otherwise; don’t try this in real life folks)

I only stated my own reasons why I find it hard to immerse myself, especially having to take care of three nieces/nephews since their birth lol. One mishap is all it takes to seriously injure the toddlers that don’t know any danger. You don’t have to agree, nor do you need to try and convince me with 5 essays on why YOU think hands off parenting is normal for infants 😂 It’s not gonna change my mind and I’m not gonna offend you with my own view of the STORY’s parenting methods! I don’t have a habit of dropping novels once I’ve started them, but at least I am aware I have the freedom to critique the plot and the way the author seems to think in cliches. Parenting isn’t anything like babysitting, and I’d have to guess the author must have been 17 or so because their views about everything have his air of ignorance attached to it?

        • Don’t bring out Ji Xinglan’s feelings to Yan Qiu, that’s a different story.

What made me reply to you is because you said letting your kids walk around the house is bad parenting when they already made sure their house is safe for the kids like a big nursery for them. The attention they gave to the kids are almost all their time when they’re out of work and made sure that everything around the house is safe, no one expected the kitty to open the door.

There are two types of children: One is those who would stay obedient in one particular place while the other is those who wants adventures and would cry if you left them restricted. These babies are the latter, that time Ji Xinglan’s mom is cooking. If she restricted the kids and they cried then she wouldn’t be able to cook.

Ji Xinglan was raised alone by his mom who always leaves him alone at home, that explains his obssession to Yan Qiu once Yan Qiu showed him warm (kissed him) and a little attention. Yan Qiu grew up without parents, they both don’t know what parenting is ’cause they never experienced it but they’re actually doing great than others.

You can have your own understanding of the story, I just want to tell you that they’re not bad parents.

          • Right? She/He keeps saying they’re letting the kids roam around the house ALONE. The kids are never alone, they have Ji Xinglan, Yan Qiu, Xie Yu, Mrs. Ji and the nanny. They were never alone. The next chapter is pure accident. Everything would’ve been fine as the kids are already 1 years old and more. They’re just playing by themselves with Mrs. Ji cooking while looking out at them in that SAFE area where there’s carpet, sticky patches, clean nooks-crooks and everything as we knew how much the couple makes sure everything was fine on the areas where their babies play AND THAT’S BAD PARENTING? I can’t relate. She/He said they’re not gonna normalize bad parenting when where the hell is bad parenting here? The KITTY opened the door from the inside of the house which no one expected. I’m not even blaming the kitty and yet they’re blaming the couple. That just doesn’t feel right that I have to speak up.
        • Are we reading the same thing? No one said anything about letting the kids roam around the house ALONE. They’e letting the kids roam around because as it was said in the next chap. they use almost all their time offwork with the babies and when they’re at work the babies has their nanny and Mrs. Ji. On the next chap. they’re at work and coincidentally the nanny took their leave while because Mrs. Ji needs to cook. She left the kids in a SAFE area for them to play by themselves. No one expected Lan Lan to open the doorb for them to get out. If you call them bad parents because a KITTY opened the door then tsk.
          • I was thinking the same thing. They never left the kids alone until that one particular time where the kids are already more that one years old and can play by themselves. Mrs. Ji put the kids on a safe place so she could cook like how many single parents do and would just take a look at them from time to time. The kids aren’t roaming the house at that time and they’re just playing in that particular area (I’m assuming that it’s the living room where there’s carpet and everything that’s why they saw that the kitten opened the door)

  2. I’m betting that as they get older, Xing Xing will torment Qiu Qiu but he won’t let anyone else do it.
