These are the terms I transliterated because there wasn’t really a proper English term as well as some further explanations on vocab that might not explain things fully (because Chinese just has to be complicated sometimes :<)
Wife/Concubine Ranks:
Highest Rank [Principle Wife] Abbreviation: Wang Fei
Second Rank [Side/Secondary Wife] Abbreviation: Fu Ren/Madam/Lady
Third Rank [“Qie Fei”/Official Concubine]
Fourth Rank [“Wang Ji”/ Female Entertainer – Concubine]
Fifth Rank [“Shi Qie” = bed servant/attendant – Concubine]
Sixth Rank [“Bei Qie” = inferior concubine]
Forms of Address + Titles:
“Er Chen” = this subject son, used by princes to refer to oneself when speaking to their Imperial Father aka the Emperor
“Wang Ye” = Prince/Your Highness, counterpart to Wang Fei
“Cheng Wang” = “King of Cheng” which is a title bestowed upon JS for doing a meritorious deed in defeating the Xiongnu
“Ben Wang” = this prince/king, used by JS to refer to himself when speaking to/ordering servants
“Ben Fei” = this Wang Fei, used by MHZ to refer to himself when speaking to/ordering servants
“Zhen” = this Emperor, used by the monarch to refer to himself when ordering people around
“Chen” = this subject/servant, used by people of a lower rank to refer to themselves when speaking to their superiors
“Qie” = this concubine/consort, used by concubines to refer to themselves to someone of a higher rank ie. their husband
“Gongzi” = young master, used to refer to a son of an official/nobility
“Gonggong” = title used to refer to eunuchs
“Weichen” = this small official or this humble servant, used when lowering oneself to be extremely respectful
“Benshuai” = this commander
“Shanren” =

I thought Fu ren was already the highest rank for a noble wife… so it’s Wang fei.. or was it because he is married to a royal Prince 🤔
