Zombie UniversityCh70 - Danger at Luban (3)

Translator: transcendentwings

The zombie that swarmed across the table didn’t choose Zhou Yilu, rather it went straight for Qiao Siqi. The latter trembled when he was locked on by the zombie and almost reflexively drew his long-time and most reliable partner—the Swiss Army Knife—and launched a volley of attacks like a flurry of dance moves. h0k1tL

The zombie didn’t seem to have expected for its prey to suddenly go mad. It was unknown if there was a particular nerve left in its body or a creature’s instinct to seek advantages and avoid disadvantages, but it’s assault lasted for half a second.

And within this split second!

Guanglang.

Qiao-tongxue successfully hurled the Swiss Army Knife onto the floor. fZW5zi

The zombie already fully figured out the limits of its prey and pounced over like a tiger lunging for its meal!

Without a weapon, Qiao Siqi panicked and leapt to the corner of the wall with one jump. Seeing that he was trapped with no way out, he finally went berserk due to desperation and abruptly bent down to snatch up the dead and withered money tree from its flower pot, yanking it out with all his might!

That money tree grew up to be tall and mighty, its trunk was as thick as a grown man’s arm. Qiao Siqi exhausted all of his strength and actually couldn’t pull it out!

As the zombie approached the corner, Qiao Siqi was so anxious that he gnashed his teeth and stomped his foot: “Huha—”

wvyY K

With a loud shout, John finally straightened his waist and the money tree rose up as a result, its roots swinging towards the zombie!

Guang!

With a heavy and dull impact, this blow hit the zombie in the head!

Huala! 6kwFI

The flower pot shattered into pieces of porcelain at the moment of collision.

—In ancient times, there was Lu Zhishen upending weeping willows, and today there was Qiao Siqi swinging a tree, pot and all.

“Professor Wang” crashed to the ground with a putong, and didn’t move any longer. Dark red blood flowed out from the rupture in its head, staining the marble floor crimson.

Zhou Yilu had been trying to ambush from behind to aid his comrade throughout the entire process, but he wasn’t able to find the right opportunity before his comrade already did it single-handedly. Just as he was about to show his admiration, he realized that his comrade-in-arms still hadn’t seemed to have withdrawn from his battle mode and kept slamming the money tree into the back of the skull of the zombie lying on the ground in a frenzy. JdVmcu

Without the flower pot, only clods of condensed soil remained clinging to the root of the money tree. Then with this whack, the caked soil cracked and really sent sand flying about as stones hurtled through the air. The moment Zhou Yilu wanted to call out to stop him, he was force fed a mouthful of dirt and when he finally spat it out with a peipei using no small effort, he was blinded, practically wallowing in despair.

Finally, Qiao Siqi had his fill of clobbering and regained some sanity, only then did he notice his comrade squatting next to the water dispenser washing out his eyes. Looking down at his “weapon”, he seemed to have understood everything and promptly felt guilty: “Wei, are you okay. . .”

Zhou Yilu wiped his face for the last time and turned around with gentleness and tolerance: “It’s fine.”

Qiao Siqi looked at his comrade-in-arms whose eyes were as red as a rabbit’s and his face twitched in embarrassment: “It doesn’t. . . look like that.” IvCGVn

Zhou Yilu smiled, his tone becoming softer: “Then come here and let me stab you once.”

“. . .” Qiao Siqi backed away half a step, “Uh, what did you just say?”

Zhou Yilu gave him a deadpan look: “I said come over here and let me give you a stab.”

Qiao Siqi shook his head: “No, before that.” AXkdC9

Zhou Yilu frowned, recalling for a moment: “It’s dandy?”

Qiao Siqi nodded his head vigorously: “I decided to believe you.”

Zhou Yilu: “. . .”

Zhou Yilu: “What was that noise?”

Qiao Siqi: “En? There wasn’t ah.”

Zhou Yilu: “Oh, nevermind.”

Qiao Siqi: “What ah, so jumpy.” QtOz7q

Zhou Yilu: “You won’t get it even if I told you.”

—From the moment this chap risked his life to come to the Luban Building to accompany him, the gears of their fate began to spin. It’s just that the meshing of the gear’s teeth didn’t seem to be very on point.

[Gedengdeng.]

No, it didn’t f*cking link at all!

Qiao Siqi collapsed into a seated position on the ground as his strength drained from him, and he’d finally tossed the money tree aside. Zhou Yilu hesitated again and again, but still made up his mind to be ruthless and supplemented with a stab to the head of the corpse. However, after all, this was the professor he was familiar with in the old days, thus Zhou Yilu missed on the first strike and only struck true on the second.

Afterwards, Zhou Yilu dragged the zombie under the dean’s desk and blocked it with a chair, counting it as finding a temporary resting place for the corpse while also saving him and Qiao Siqi from having to keep facing the sanguinary and savagery. YkKhHW

While towing the corpse away, Zhou Yilu accidentally discovered a bite mark on the zombie’s wrist and realized that Professor Wang most likely fled here during a fight with a zombie but was unaware he was already infected. Eventually the virus became active and trapped him here.

On one side Zhou Yilu was settling the body down while Qiao Siqi finally came back to his senses on the other. He got to his feet and made his way to the light switch and pressed it back and forth a few times while bearing the mentality of just giving it a try.

Sure enough, there was no current running.

Hearing the sound, Zhou Yilu raised his head and was rendered speechless upon seeing the situation: “Things are already like this and you still expect someone to be racing to repair the circuits?” 2vHr3L

Qiao Siqi pursed his lips, but was still not completely reconciled: “But what if the power outage was caused by surviving students like us, for example, for the convenience of battle, and then they reset it after the fight was over!

“. . .”

“It’s not impossible ma.”

“Then let us pray that this more than two-hour clash ends as soon as possible and with the surviving classmates victory.” eSby5d

Too lazy to continue this boring and pointless chat with Qiao Siqi, Zhou Yilu got up and opened the office window, sticking his head out to check on their surroundings as well as the situation below. After a moment, he hollered without warning: “Song Fei—”

Zhou Yilu tried his best to project it, that even the starry sky seemed to quake in response.

After a very long time, the last trace of the ending syllable completely dissipated into the distant sky. The night that had been slashed returned to silence and the campus was still that same campus.

Qiao Siqi sighed, his heart aching for his comrades as well as himself, yet also a little irked: “Actually, we shouldn’t have run over here. What if they’ve already found the radio? We should head down or simply return to the canteen.”

Zhou Yilu turned around with a serious expression: “We can’t go back to the canteen.” OSIXan

Qiao Siqi was taken aback, puzzled.

Zhou Yilu continued: “The reason why we chose this office, apart from its security, was that it faces the only path that must be taken on the way back to the canteen. If they found the radio, when they headed back, we’re guaranteed to be able to realize it, then at that time we will go downstairs to meet up with them and can play the role of escort. If they don’t locate it or are in danger, they will definitely find a way to send out a signal. Taking a step back, even if there was no warning sign, and we didn’t see them make their way back after two nights then something must have gone wrong so the two of us must go to the Gewu Building to aid them. No matter what the situation is, we are required to remain on standby here.”

“All of your conjectures are based on the premise that they haven’t found the radio as of yet.”

Qiao Siqi didn’t like to use his brain, but it didn’t mean that his mind reacted slowly. On the contrary, he was very clever when he actually wanted to use it, thus when Zhou Yilu laid all of that out, he immediately understood the principle and discovered the loophole at the same time. 8JsfoL

Taking a glance at the time on his phone, he drew blood on the first prick: “It’s been almost three hours since we parted ways. How do you know they didn’t succeed in these three hours? Maybe they managed to retrieve the radio already are on the go home elatedly part.”

“I’ll stress it again for the sake of all the comrades, unless you are an abc, the way of inserting English phrases between the Chinese is really awkward. In addition,” Zhou Yilu lifted his eyes and glanced at Qiao Siqi, “If you were Song Fei, do you think he would assume that the two of us would go straight back to the canteen after luring the enemy?”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Qiao-tongxue held aggrieved reservations about the first half of the accusation and Xiao-Qiao felt bitter in his heart, but Xiao-Qiao won’t mention it for the time being because obviously the second half of the question was more important.

Silence, prolonged. RxGiq

Qiao Siqi considered it very seriously.

Zhou Yilu could tell so he patiently gave the other time to ponder.

Finally, Qiao Siqi broke the silence and slowly uttered: “If I were Song Fei, I would think that those two idiots must still be poking their heads out a certain window of the Luban Building and waiting to meet up.” At the end, he even revealed his true feelings and rolled his eyes as if Song Fei’s hateful face flashed before his eyes.

Zhou Yilu couldn’t help but break out into laughter and continued to posture: “What if no one could be spotted at any of the windows upon return?” LzQyYJ

“Then I’ll just holler from downstairs.” Qiao Siqi had already been brought into Song Fei’s cos, and blurted out without thinking.

Zhou Yilu shrugged his shoulders in satisfaction, entirely under the cover of silence.

—Attracting the enemy away up until now, they haven’t received an rendezvous message from their comrades-in-arms, no matter if it was singing, shouting, or some other method, and they were sure that their comrade would send such a message upon their return, so the only conclusion was, the revolution hasn’t succeeded just yet and their compatriots were still working diligently.

Fighting side by side until now, Qiao Siqi, like Zhou Yilu believed that there was an unbreakable tacit understanding and trust between them, but based on a contingency: “What if they have called out at a certain point in the past and we just happen to be in a place where we couldn’t hear these pages, such as the pantry, or it just so happened that the battle was fierce and we neither popped up nor responded?” yzT6mu

Zhou Yilu answered without hesitation: “Then I’ll storm in to seek them.”

Qiao Siqi sighed: “You would, but Song Fei may not.”

Zhou Yilu furrowed his brow: “You don’t trust him?”

Qiao Siqi: “I’m afraid that he doesn’t have that confidence in your department’s building.” gQSlfq

Zhou Yilu made a face: “. . .”

At this point in the discussion, the two have actually reached a consensus and to continue their back and forth banter was purely just to have a little fun to pass the time.

“It seems, that it isn’t just the Luban Building that is out of power,” Zhou Yilu gazed out the window again and registered the strangeness, “Even the street lights are also out and the Yixin Building and Gewu Buildings are all dark as well.”

“Are you sure?” iw4fRT

Qiao Siqi leaned over with worry and squeezed in next to Zhou Yilu to survey the outside together.

The Luban Building, Yixin Building, and Gewu Building all basically formed a straight line from west to east. The windows where they were peeking out from were located facing the road in the south, so they had no choice but to lean out in order to look out east.

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

There was a certain distance between the three buildings, so they could only take a rough and cursory glance.

“I hope the situation isn’t bad.” Zhou Yilu muttered under his breath, facing the cold winds. 2fmyUq

“If there really is a blackout, how will they make it to the second floor ah?” Just thinking about that scene made Qiao Siqi’s scalp tingle.

Zhou Yilu wasn’t too anxious: “We also broke into the tenth floor in the dark.”

The tragic Luban trip that had been forgotten after much effort made an abrupt comeback and Qiao Siqi held his forehead in despair: “Then bless them to chance upon a cardboard box that could accommodate six people ba.”

Zhou Yilu had endured Qiao Siqi’s constant behavior of being an anti against his department’s building for a long time now and was just about to display his might, when the night breeze suddenly sent sporadic notes into his ears. RbA 6h

Zhou Yilu was bewildered, no longer caring about everything else, he pricked his ears up only to catch—

“With the world as a companion. . . free and easy. . . riding a horse. . . prosperity in the world. . .”

“For wine. . . joy. . . dynamic. . . youth. . .”

Qiao Siqi prepared himself to be bullied for quite a while, yet the other party suddenly became quiet and didn’t say a word, which made him want to beg for the tyranny now instead: “Wei. . .” 1eG gU

Sh.” Zhou Yilu made a silencing gesture.

Qiao Siqi looked at his stern expression and surprisingly became obedient in a rare occurrence.

It’s only a pity that Qiao-tongxue’s patience was a mere span of two minutes.

“What the hell did you hear?” c3YgCu

“It sounds like someone is singing.”

“What song?”

Uh. . . F*ck, it’s at the tip of my tongue, why the hell can’t I remember it!”

“What was the content?” efHGzb

“It’s just that classic TV series that’s broadcasted every summer vacation, the ancient times setting one with several men having gone through untold hardships. . .”

Ohoh, Journey to the West!”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

“. . . To help two girls get recognized by the emperor as their father.”

The plot swerved too swiftly, like a tornado. RfpwSo

Qiao Siqi was already too lazy to complain: “Can’t you say Huang A’Ma directly!”

Ah, right, ‘My Fair Princess’!”

“Congratulations.” Qiao Siqi felt that if he interacted with Zhou Yilu alone for a few days, even without the zombies, they would end up turning their noses up at each other.

Zhou Yilu was instantly enlightened, and then abruptly realized that he had been led into a pit by Qiao Siqi: “The point isn’t what song was sung, but that there is someone singing okay!” ahlcUT

Qiao Siqi swore that he really couldn’t hear anything except for the wind. He didn’t know if it was because he had damaged his hearing by wearing earbuds when he watched movies on a regular basis. However at this time, Zhou Yilu wouldn’t joke around: “Can you tell who it is and from where?”

“It sounds like it’s from the Gewu Building ma,” Zhou Yilu frowned deeply, hating that he couldn’t just send one ear over to hear the broadcast live, “Anyway it doesn’t seem like Song Fei.”

“It doesn’t matter who it is,” Qiao Siqi decided, “Anyway, whoever is singing this kind of song must be one of ours.”

Zhou Yilu was gratified: “Of course.” v3Fh4O

It was as if the singing from the sky set the two of them completely at ease. Their companions were still fighting and they didn’t miss them. The next thing to do was to keep watch by the window in turn to ensure that when their comrades make their return trip, they would be able to catch them as soon as possible and set off to regroup.

Taking turns to monitor was easy to say, but it was quite boring to do. Especially at night, when the wind was still strong, getting blown for half an hour was a bit overwhelming. The two of them couldn’t wear their gas masks all the time, after all not only did it not help them retain heat, it was also very stuffy. So when the wind blew, the face was frozen and the head was also cold.

Fortunately, Zhao He, who had always taken the refined and scholarly route had pilfered a cashmere scarf scavenged from the Express Pickup Point and worn it on this trip, thus as they took turns to face out the window, with a buttoned coat, a donned hat, and a wrapped scarf, they were just barely able to resist.

The two of them rotated in one hour shifts and when it was Qiao Siqi’s turn, he asked Zhou Yilu for the scarf, but instead of looping it around his neck and face, he wove it around his head, a picturesque scene like the noon day sun blocking these sinister winds, his style carrying a hint of Indian customs. LqJ8pc

Even so, this person still grumbled that it was cold every once in a while. At first, Zhou Yilu was still worried, but later he found that the more the other yelled, the more energetic he became, thus he became numb to it.

An endless night, boring and tasteless surveillance, both of them were so sleepy yet they couldn’t afford to sleep. It’s just like driving at night, the co-pilot must be in good spirits and has to chat with the driver from time to time. If the co-pilot even yawns or sleeps like a pig, then the driver would also not be too far from meeting Duke Zhou as well.

Fatigue was contagious.

The two classmates, Zhou and Qiao, had no choice but to start a casual exchange despite having nothing to say in order to push through the long night. b4RwvA

Zhou Yilu: “By the way, why did you always assume that ‘you were Song Fei’ when you inferred whether our comrades would send a signal to us when they backtracked? It stands to reason that the one with the highest comprehensive combat effectiveness should be Qi Yan ba. His brain is sharp and he possesses proficient fighting skills, if someone had to lead the squad, it’d be Qi Yan.”

Qiao Siqi: “There’s no doubt that Qi Yan was leading the team, but Song Fei steers Qi Yan.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Zhou Yilu: “Ai, the one who falls in love first or loves more deeply will always be a disadvantaged group.”

Qiao Siqi: “Classmate, please disclose your story.” 0xOK1d

Zhou Yilu: “. . .”

—Conversation killed.

Qiao Siqi: “Speaking of, due to the current power outage, will our combination lock fail?”

Zhou Yilu: “If it was out of order, was what we just opened a fake lock?” GR97WZ

Qiao Siqi: “Battery-operated?”

Zhou Yilu: “Finally smart for once. That thing stores a lot of power and will be able to stick it out for a few months without a problem.”

Qiao Siqi: “Then what if a zombie yanks the battery pack out, would the lock malfunction?!”

Zhou Yilu: “First of all, pulling the battery out will only keep the door in a locked stated and secondly, if we actually met a zombie with such wit, I think we can contemplate opening the door and talk about life with each other.” mRX1f6

Qiao Siqi: “. . .”

—Chat terminated yet again.

Zhou Yilu: “Incidentally, do you want to consider switching a pair of shoes?”

Qiao Siqi: “My shoes don’t look good? They’re limited edition Jordans!” wKZbT5

Zhou Yilu: “There’s nothing wrong with the model, but are you sure that they aren’t a pair of figure skates?”

Qiao Siqi: “. . .”

—Exchange aborted once more.

Qiao Siqi: “Which reminds me, what style does your design belong to ah?” StylXW

Zhou Yilu: “What design?”

Qiao Siqi: “The one that was crushed earlier, you said it was your model assignment?

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Zhou Yilu: “Ahhh, if you didn’t mention it, I would’ve already forgotten, that was my painstaking work, the professor hadn’t even f*cking graded it yet ahhh!!!”

Qiao Siqi: “Uh, I think that your professor probably wouldn’t be very concerned with that now la, really.” QENdd5

Zhou Yilu: “The same goes for the CET-4 exam. If I were able to hand in the test papers smoothly, I would’ve definitely passed this time, for sure!”

Qiao Siqi: “Uh, I think the professor grading it most likely won’t have the spare time to do it now, for real.”

Zhou Yilu: “What is the road of education so utterly difficult?”

Qiao Siqi: “How about you search for the reason in yourself, for example, aren’t you a little too motivated?” Tw2Rs1

Zhou Yilu: “. . .’

—Discourse adjourned for the last time.

For the sake of world peace, the two of them spent the entire second half of the night looking at each other in silence. When they became truly bored, it was just be you take a look at me while I toss a glance at you, then bicker for comfort.

This state of affairs, persisted until dawn. zBOX3F

Zhou Yilu didn’t know if he was too tired or if their comrades-in-arms at the Gewu Building had entered a new stage of the battle. Anyway, he couldn’t hear the singing voices anymore. As far as the eye could see, there was only brilliant sunlight.

Day was much better than night. First, once the temperature rose, even if the window was open, with the sun shining on their bodies, they only felt very comfortable. Second, the likelihood of their comrades making the return trip in the daytime was very small, so their nerves didn’t have to be so tense and they could finally catch up on sleep with a peace of mind. Moreover, Zhou Yilu also wrenched the curtains off and hung them outside. On the unfolded length of drapery, the five letters J-O-H-N-S was cut out with a knife. As such, in case their comrades-in-arms suddenly decided that they wanted to make their return during the day, as long as their comrades had them in mind, they would absolutely be able to see it as soon as they looked up. It was more useful than a SOS.

A calm day.

Nothing happened, whether good or bad. Nobody appeared, neither comrades nor schoolmates. 3rNl6x

The two of them didn’t know whether there were no other survivors in this department zone or if they were just quietly guarding their unknown strongholds, refusing to emerge. In short, the two surveilled for a whole day and could only conclude on one feeling—dead silence.

If it were spring, summer, or fall, it wouldn’t be too bad, at least there were flowers, the grass, and trees, but now, even the plants were just withered.

Qiao Siqi said that they should’ve moved some of the pine trees from the lecture hall in the south, at least there’d be some vitality. Zhou Yilu agreed and when this matter was over, he suggested that the other post an appeal on the university forum. Qiao Siqi hesitated for a moment and asked, when this crisis was averted, would they still be able to continue going to class? Zhou Yilu pondered that for a while then responded, it must be possible, they haven’t retrieved their diplomas and certificate of degrees yet ne.

Qiao Siqi was overwhelmed by his comrade-in-arms’ obsession with learning, and after a while, he gained some kind of strange peace of mind from this obsession. t3hGPT

The dean’s office had a private bathroom and a sofa for guests. This was the most blessed thing that happened since the two of them entered the Luban Building. There was also plenty of food in their backpacks, making their happiness more radiant. But after all, human beings were still not forged from steel, their minds could be infinitely strong, but their physical bodies cannot. After staying up for a second night in a row, Zhou Yilu still felt passable, but Qiao Siqi wholly couldn’t take it anymore.

And Zhou Yilu was the first to discover it.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Qiao Siqi visibly wobbled when they changed shifts, his face was pale, and although he didn’t say anything, his body was very honest about it. Zhou Yilu allowed zero protests as he tugged the other over to touch his forehead. Fortunately, it wasn’t too hot.

Qiao Siqi admitted straightforwardly: “It’s nothing serious, I’m just a little dizzy, probably from getting blown by the wind.” aTHEI9

Zhou Yilu’s first reaction was that the venerable elder you are had already been wrapped up until you’ve become like a fellow Indian and it can still blast your head? Yet seeing how sick John was, he forcefully swallowed the complaints full of incredulity that came to the tip of his tongue back down. After all, if one stands by the open window as a lookout for an entire day and night, not to mention getting blustered, one’d even gulp down a bellyful of wind, thus it was understandable of some classmates who possessed feeble physical stats all around to catch a cold.

“That’s enough, stop keeping watch, go back on the sofa to rest. Oh right, flip the sofa around, don’t face the wind anymore, block it a bit from behind.”

“That won’t work, how can I let you push through an entire night alone!”

“Did I tell you to rest the whole night? If I can’t hold on, I’ll definitely uproot you from sleep, don’t worry.” I TZfQ

“. . .”

Acquiring a complex sense of warmth while resisting the urge to roast the other, Qiao-tongxue returned to the guest sofa, but ultimately didn’t shift the sofa, he maintained the direction in which he would be able to see Zhou Yilu the moment he opened his eyes and laid there, curled up.

When he glanced at Zhou Yilu again, he kept feeling that the back of his comrade-in-arms was inexplicably quite a bit tallernow.

Qiao Siqi’s eyelids gradually became heavy, yet he didn’t want to slip into slumber, he always felt that he couldn’t help but stand guard, even if were only to chat with his comrade: “Zhou Yilu.” 5jddbR

En.” His comrade didn’t turn back, but his tone of voice clearly meant “tell me ba, I’m listening ne”.

“Do you think that in this entire Luban Building, only the two of us are still alive?”

“I don’t know. Why did you suddenly ask this?”

“No reason, I just think that this kind of feeling is very similar to ‘I am Legend’.” UDWgY0

“The movie?”

En, played by Will Smith. It is said that the whole city was infected and mutated and only he and a German shepherd were left. He fought against loneliness while fighting to save the last hope for mankind. That feeling is very similar to our situation now, I even think that I am Will Smith!”

“Then wouldn’t I have no choices left for my role?”

“Qiao Siqi?”

“Good night!”

In view of the fact that his tete-a-tete with Zhou Yilu, no matter whether he had good intentions or if he did it on purpose, there would always be a pitfall thus Qiao Siqi decided to select another more secure way of getting along—Sleep.

It’s just that he didn’t expect this snooze to last until dawn. XHU4wc

To be precise, up to when just a touch of whiteness and hazy glow appeared on the horizon.

With drowsy eyes, Qiao Siqi caught sight of Zhou Yilu’s ramrod straight silhouette positioned in front of the window, like the verdant pine on top of the mountain, resolute and upright.

The cell phone was already dead, but taking in the sky and then probing the level of his own energy, Qiao Siqi was able to guess an approximate hour and instantly felt extremely guilty for a moment as he hurriedly scrambled up like a carp leaping from its waters. As a result, he sat up too violently making his head buzz again with a weng, however he didn’t bother to allow himself to recover and climbed to his feet and scampered to Zhou Yilu’s side without asking for the other’s opinion, directly jerking him backwards: “Switch shifts!”

Zhou Yilu was also blasted until he was confused and dazed that night, noticing that Qiao Siqi was in decent condition, he followed suit and stopped acting polite with the other as he headed straight to where his comrade nested for the night and started to cultivate his health with the residual heat remaining. o57kDc

“No surprises at night?” Qiao Siqi blurted quickly while his comrade hadn’t knocked out yet.

“None.” Zhou Yilu was already so weary that he couldn’t keep his eyes open anymore even if his brain was still spinning, “If there still is no change during the day today, the two of us should make a trip to the Gewu Building this evening.”

“Sure.” Qiao Siqi agreed easily.

DongdongdongbSyhqo

The sound of drums like peals of thunder suddenly shattered the tranquility that belonged to the wee hours of the morning.

Qiao Siqi was stunned.

Zhou Yilu’s eyes snapped open.

DongdongdongdongdongRj9OH7

Qiao Siqi opened his mouth wide.

Zhou Yilu already rushed before the window.

The tempest of drum rolls came quickly and also went away without warning.

After a brief silence, the sound of a flute whistled its weak call. 92YvEy

Qiao Siqi and Zhou Yilu exchanged a glance, their expressions were indescribable—

“‘Little Apple’?”

  1. “Fortunately, Zhao He, who had always taken the refined and scholarly route…”

This should be Zhou Yilu since the actual Zhao He is still singing for his adoring fans.

The way these two took turns to steer the conversation into a dead end was so funny! Thank you for translating~

    • Actually in the RAWs it was written as Zhao He, so I translated as so, though I did debate whether I should change it to ZYL and take it as a typo because they are the protagonists in this chapter. And while the one who is described as refined and what not is usually ZYL, ZH also pretends to be like such at times so I wasn’t sure if our author-dada meant that ZH was the one who took it from the Express Pickup Point but ZYL was the one using it on this trip or if it actually was a typo so I just left it as is. Probably thinking too much, but I guess I’ll leave a note about it in the chapter. Thanks for reading attentively!
      • Now I’m dizzy. It’s so hard to tell if it’s a typo or not, I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to translate all these chapters. Thank you for your hard work! 🙌🏻
