At this very moment, Qiu Zijia was shrinking behind the apartment building on his own, squatting to hide in some underbrush. His mind was extremely nervous, and the Fool card held in his hand also couldn’t help but tremble along with his tension. He stuck by the fence and cautiously advanced. He was currently following the guidance of the Fool card and looking for the correct path.

Mu Qin had told him before that the Fool card would only guide a player to the location of one item. It might point to some props that could open the exit, such as a key or other prop. There was also the chance that this card would point directly to the so-called hidden exit. 2rkAdK

So then, what was a hidden exit?

In the literal sense, it was the exit that had been hidden.

The map of Iris Orphanage had an obvious exit – the big iron door in the courtyard. It was that enormous door that didn’t look very sturdy but could tightly trap Mu Qin and the others in the orphanage. If they wanted to open the door, they needed to find the key to the door. This was a logical fact that, as long as someone understood the situation, anyone could surmise.

So, at this time, there was a new question presented in front of everyone: Other than this iron door, were there any other exits to the orphanage? cVjd9H

The answer was, of course, yes.

According to Xu Fu, every map in the game had basically two or more exits or methods of escape.

Xu Fu had described the map he had experienced in his previous game. It was an island that wasn’t very large. There were two means of transport on that island. One method was a speedboat at the island’s pier. One method was a mini submarine stopped in the island’s underground karst cave, so they could also take the submarine to escape.

The use of these two transportation vehicles were methods the players could use to escape. Players didn’t need to master the skills of operating boats or submarines. They only needed to find the speedboat key that could start the speed boat or find tools that could open the sealed hatch of the submarine.

Only one of the two props needed to be found followed by using the prop to start the speedboat or the submarine, and the game system would then default to the successful escape of the players.

Special attention needed to be paid to a certain point. Even if the humans were already standing inside an escape tool, for example, they were already standing on the speedboat, if they didn’t use the speedboat’s key to start the boat, the killer could still utilize this period to attack humans. The killer could climb onto the speedboat to cut people down. However, as long as the speedboat was started, the system would then judge that the players’ escape was successful, and the players would be instantly transferred to the safe room.

Xu Fu had said that he had left the island with the speedboat at the end and became the final survivor.

And in this map of Iris Orphanage, Xu Fu felt that place also had a so-called “hidden exit” or “hidden method of escape.”

Xu Fu said, “This map, the orphanage, is much simpler than the island map I experienced prior. Its hidden exit is also very easy to guess. In addition to the exit door, I think there should probably be an entrance similar to a tunnel. Perhaps it’s in some corner of the orphanage.”

Mu Qin’s Fool card pointed towards the second floor of the church, while Qiu Zijia’s Fool card pointed in another direction. 4kHFdR

This was already very clear. The direction Qiu Zijia’s Fool card pointed in was a hidden exit.

Under normal circumstances, the human side would basically not consider using the hidden exit or the hidden method of escape to run away, because to open the hidden exit seemed to require fulfilling some very harsh special conditions. Xu Fu wasn’t clear what exactly those conditions were. He hadn’t attempted it before, but their current situation was extremely desperate.

Since Mu Qin had seen that the storeroom’s door had been opened by someone and the ladder inside was gone without a trace, he guessed that Zhou Yue had likely gone and taken the exit’s key a step before them. Zhou Yue had found the key early and held it in his own hands, thereby ruining the human side’s thoughts on an escape route. Thus, Mu Qin and the others rushing over now was also too late. Wanting to snatch the key back from Zhou Yue was also an exceptionally difficult matter. So, Mu Qin had no choice but to raise a new countermeasure. He decided to try the way of the hidden exit.

The plan was almost the same as before. It was still Mu Qin and Xu Fu separately going to attract the killer’s attention, while Qiu Zijia took his own Fool card to go look for the hidden exit. After finding it, he needed to think of a way to open the hidden exit by himself, because Mu Qin and Xu Fu had to deal with the killer and stall for time nonstop. The only one left with the ability to act was Qiu Zijia. wH97F5

Qiu Zijia suddenly felt that he carried a heavy responsibility. This caused him to be so scared that his face was all white, but he still forced himself to muster all his courage and bite the bullet to cautiously search in the pitch-black courtyard. The dimly glimmering tarot card in his hand was like his only hope.

Qiu Zijia didn’t know if it was his misperception, but he felt that the tarot card in his hand seemed to be getting brighter, seemingly indicating that he was getting closer to the so-called hidden exit. Yet, just as his steps became firm, right when he was slowly drawing close to the target destination, he heard footsteps coming from behind him.

Qiu Zijia was extremely sensitive while he was alone. This was natural. Solidarity in this kind of environment would cause Qiu Zijia to be in a mental state of extreme nervousness. A tiny bit of movement or noise would startle him like a bird and make him be surprised for a long time. So, at the same as he heard footsteps, Qiu Zijia quickly turned back, and as expected, he found a figure of a person walking behind. In the middle of the pitch-black courtyard, Qiu Zijia could only see a blurry black human-shaped shadow.

Qiu Zijia instinctively realized that it was neither Xu Fu nor Mu Qin, because if it were Mu Qin who had come to find him, he would definitely call Qiu Zijia’s name. XhcGAo

If it wasn’t Mu Qin or Xu Fu, then the one who came to find him could only be one person.

Qiu Zijia was instantly frightened. The fear spread from his brain to every inch of his body. Qiu Zijia was so scared that he suddenly sprang out from the underbrush, and, disregarding the direction, he started desperately running forward. Every cell in his body was screaming sharply at him to run!

So, Qiu Zijia started running. Pinching the tarot card in his hand, he strove to run toward the courtyard before him that was so dark, he couldn’t see his fingers. Seeing him run, the killer that had originally been slowly following behind Qiu Zijia also began running after Qiu Zijia.

However, Qiu Zijia didn’t run fast enough. His physical ability absolutely couldn’t beat the killer. In addition, the courtyard’s weeds were overgrown, and it was also dark and unclear. Nothing could be seen clearly, and it was very easy to be tripped by rocks and the sort. Qiu Zijia needed to be cautious. This bit of cautiousness reduced his speed and mobility by even more. Not even a moment later, the killer behind had already quickly caught up to Qiu Zijia. clgqAd

Qiu Zijia wasn’t sure whether the other side had weapons or anything similar, but he seemed to hear the killer grasping and brandishing something in his hand, producing the kind of subtle whistling noises created when waving something. Then, Qiu Zijia felt a burst of sharp pain from his back, paining him until he gave a loud scream and toppled to the ground with a plop.

Qiu Zijia looked back and discovered that the thing that had hit him was a chunk of rock the size of a palm. A stone randomly picked up by the killer could also become a terrible, sharp weapon. Letting go and throwing at Qiu Zijia’s body, it immediately smashed onto Qiu Zijia’s back. The smash made Qiu Zijia stumble and instantly fall to the ground.

Qiu Zijia desperately wanted to get up faster, but as he propped up his arms, lifted his body, and was just about to get up, the killer behind had already caught up beside him. He stepped on Qiu Zijia’s back with a foot, stepping right on where Qiu Zijia had just been smashed with a rock and hurting Qiu Zijia so much he immediately lay back on the ground.

The killer seemed to intentionally torture him, so he stepped very hard. As the killer, Zhou Yue had every aspect of his body upgraded to the max by the Death card. His current strength was absolutely not a front. A light and random step caused Qiu Zijia so much pain he incessantly released blood-curdling shrieks, struggling nonstop under his foot. oVLNg7

Zhou Yue didn’t really like hearing people scream. Because Qiu Zijia’s screams were slightly unpleasant, he quickly retracted his foot. He stared at Qiu Zijia for a second, seemingly thinking about how to kill him.

The easiest way was to snap his neck.

Zhou Yue originally had a weapon. In the game, the spawning point of players who drew the Death card and were appointed to the killer position would have a weapon such as a small knife or similar tool left in the vicinity. Whether you took it or not was up to you, but after picking up this weapon, usually, when other humans saw you, they would suspect that you were the killer. Thus, there were also killers who chose to not take the weapon in order to hide their identity. There were even killers who took the weapon but secretly put it on someone else’s body to divert the attention.

Zhou Yue took it. At the very start, he took the weapon, went to the church, and put the knife on the church’s table. Soon after, he hid. Later, when Xu Fu came to the church to search, he found the knife. Zhou Yue saw him take the knife and deliberately yelled that he was the killer. Furthermore, he grabbed a wooden plank and smashed Xu Fu to provoke him. Xu Fu was aggravated for a while and started fighting Zhou Yue. While fighting, Zhou Yue intentionally met the other’s blade, letting Xu Fu leave multiple wounds dripping with blood on his neck and body. szDnk

Then, Zhou Yue ran out while clasping the wounds, going all the way back to the spawning point in the apartment building and lying in the stairwell to play dead.

Doing so not only created an alibi for himself, it also greatly transferred other people’s sight onto Xu Fu, increasing the suspicion of Xu Fu becoming the killer.

But doing so was also tantamount to giving his weapon to Xu Fu.

However, Zhou Yue did not need weapons to kill people. It was nothing more than a snap of the fingers. He squatted down, reached out, and grabbed Qiu Zijia’s shoulder. He flipped over Qiu Zijia, who was prostrate on the ground, and prepared to choke this guy to death. Qiu Zijia was still struggling, wanting to free himself from Zhou Yue’s grasp. However, Zhou Yue used his knee to press down on Qiu Zijia’s chest and abdomen, fixing his body in place. Then, he clutched Qiu Zijia’s neck and started applying force.

Qiu Zijia’s eyes immediately rolled a bit because of suffocation. He reached out and beat Zhou Yue’s arms and shoulder. He even randomly felt around Zhou Yue’s body.

He felt around on Zhou Yue’s leg. syuHKa

Zhou Yue thought this action was a bit strange. No matter how much he struggled, he shouldn’t go as far as to touch his leg, right? But without waiting for Zhou Yue to notice something wrong, the eyes of Qiu Zijia, who was being pinched by him, suddenly became bloodshot. His whole body’s muscles swelled, and blue veins popped out. He physique seemed to be enhanced by dozens of times in an instant. His left hand grabbed onto the wrist of Zhou Yue’s hand that was grasping his neck. His strength seemed to instantly increase at a terrifying speed, unexpectedly squeezing out blue-green marks on Zhou Yue’s forearm. Furthermore, he even forcibly tore Zhou Yue’s hand from his neck

At the same time, Qiu Zijia’s right hand felt onto the pocket on the left leg of Zhou Yue’s pants. That pocket contained the key Zhou Yue had found on the second floor of the church earlier. He easily touched it and took the key away.

Zhou Yue acknowledged that he was dumbfounded by the series of actions of Qiu Zijia, this guy who looked like he had no ability to resist. Discovering that his key had been stolen by Qiu Zijia, he wanted to take it back from Qiu Zijia’s hands. However, Qiu Zijia directly and quickly punched Zhou Yue’s face with a left hook, hitting Zhou Yue so that he fell to the side. Thereupon, Qiu Zijia captured the opportunity to leap up. He took the key that he had just snatched and ran toward the direction of the exit he had memorized long ago.

Zhou Yue also quickly got up. He finally reacted, realizing that on Qiu Zijia’s person, in addition to the original Fool card, there was also a Chariot card! lDhAap
