  2. As a religious person, I don’t understand people that refuse actually getting medical help in favor of just praying and hoping for the best. It doesn’t work that way!!! Hoping the Rui bun doesn’t end up badly because of his idiotic mother…

    • I think Rui Wang Fei do get medical help but it didn’t show improvement. They had the best ‘Imperial’ Physicians and multiple time Jun Qing said it is a pity they still haven’t cured the child. If these physicians can’t do much, gave concoction to be drink and probably said that “it will get better as he grow bigger with time”, no other physicians can outdid them lol. The problem is that, if there is no instigation, Rui Wang Fei probably will be patient following the instruction. But there is the Shu son that is close to age with this child and as healthy as a horse, and then Rui Wang had asked if he can gave her child to be raised by Jing Shao. So…. she is fermenting frustration I think. Frustrated by her own child for being born sickly, frustrated over the concubine birthing healthy child, frustrated by the concubine child fussing healthily as a child, frustrated over servant gossips, frustrated why her son that is considered given away, etc. It is not good for a woman post childbirth. She felt everything is unfair and accumulate stress albeit she did it herself. She might have consulted to someone about this frustration. Thus she is easily incited by enemies. Praying isn’t bad in itself if followed by medicinal help. But someone probably bribed the nun, giving silly advise of the expensive candle (it can lead to rumour of Jing Chen accumulating secret wealth and leaving lavish life). If she is of sound mind, she will realised the implication of her action (probablyL but she is not. Like Jing Chen as well as Jing Shao said, she is narrow minded and narrow vision.

      • in short she might have post partum despression (not diagnosing her. i just thought her situation & condition are pretty similar to someone i know). MH did a great thing not saying/do anything. it’s better to just let the mom be so that the baby is not affected.

  16. I was going over some of the past chapters a little while ago, and wasn’t there some enemy of theirs that got sent off to be a nun? Of course, it may have been somewhere else, but I have to wonder… Usually in stories like this “sent off to be a nun” is about the same as fridging a character though haha. Anyway, I love our animal friends being friends! Too good, great developments
