Really, this consort’s plan was a mess start to finish, if she wanted to stay why start by antagonizing Jing Shao by barging in and screaming, why act like she didn’t know anything about court before the day was even through, why go for the kill against Mu Hanzhang when she knew even succeeding wouldn’t give her a good end? I’d say crime of passion but she doesn’t show many signs of actually caring about Jing Shao…? We can only assume it was some level of desperation after knowing her father’s plan failed, but honestly it was such a weak plan from the start that I can’t see how it ever would have benefited her? It’s not like Jing Shao doesn’t know who her father is. I guess she was simply abandoned and didn’t know what to do about it, but if so how does she know about what happened in court already… Not the most competent family around, indeed

    • She doesn’t care about him, remember even though he doted on her and snubbed his Wang Fei in his last life. She was still informing on him to her father and couldn’t be found once the noose tightened on WangYe, Wang Fei was one of the only ones that was on his side at the end.

      • Yeah definitely, but at least if she were passionate about Jing Shao she’d have a reason to be this stupid haha. As far as being a spy goes she made every wrong move possible here, even if Jing Shao didn’t already know from his previous life not to trust her. Trying to stab Mu Hanzhang was just the bad decision icing on an incompetence cake

  23. I love how chill Mu Hanzhang was with the murder attempt, but then he HAD been on a war campaign. Pff as if he’d get scared of an idiot woman. I’m so happy though, because in the original timeline he’d been so sick all the time he grew very weak and he’d have died for sure, and now here we are! 😌👌

    Yeah, it saddened you less when JS had took the concubines before he developed feelings for you. If he had to take another concubines after all those heartfelt talks, everything feels like a lie. Thankfully Emperor himself gonna confer Jun Qing a title later and after entitlement, JS can’t take a concubine without permission of him. Meanwhile, SLX had gone mad from her own deeds. Serve her right. Now she isn’t only a divorced woman, but imprisoned divorced woman.

  32. I began to read this story since the end of the 2nd book, but I have created an account just today to be able to leave commentaries. I love this story so much because the relationship between the two main characters is so cute and I love the way they escape political schemes together. I check every day if there is a new chapter and I think that this translation is really well done (you have a French fan now) :*

    PS: Even though I like this novel, I find annoying that there is not so much that is said concerning others’ relationships, like with Xiao Yuan who seems to not be the ML in his relationship, or even between the right and left protectorates. Am I the only one? I would like more dog food on them (not too much, I am not that desperate) XD

  37. im almost catching up..BUT now im a bit confused…Istg JS had 3 concubines. One given away to the 4th prince and this Song Lingxin who just got divorced…what about the other concubine?

  38. I don’t dislike JS, but I just wish he would seriously discuss certain things with JQ instead of making him wait or do something for the information. It’s cute one or two times, but can get annoying when all JQ needs at that moment is reassurance.
