  8. The current Empress Wu, her son the 4th Prince and that Southwest King are a scheming bunch of ingrates.. They all deserve to be ** ….It hadn’t been said bluntly, but back then when Xiao Shao learned about the circumstances of his Empress’ mother’s death, that vile woman (current Empress Wu) should have been the main culprit.. Just based on this, I really wonder what the mind of the Emperor is made of. Because I really doubt he didn’t know about it. Furthermore, he should also know about the reason for Empress Wu wanting to give Xiao Shao a male wife… But he simply agreed? When Xiao Shao said, his father Emperor should be called Emperor father, he was completely right… What a tragedy…
    • I am not sure of what Emperor thinks or knows regarding the last Empress Yuan death. But agreeing to Empress Wu suggestion of giving a male wife, I think Emperor didn’t only do it for the sake pillow talk, but it coincide with what Emperor wants. Emperor didn’t want JS to continue in his battle to be crowned as crown prince. So Emperor agree to ground JS down with a male wife and I think although Empress Wu choose someone from North Marquis household, Emperor agree with MHZ since he got a good head (passed that provincial test or smtg). Hoping MHZ to enlighten JS. Remember pre-rebirth JS? He is hell bent in obtaining the throne since he didn’t believe Jing Chen affection to him is sincere.

      • Yeah, I know, I remember. But still, I’m really not happy with the emperor. He’s disappointing me. But I still hope, the older brother will become Emperor, since he seems to be a good one. Therefore, Xiao Shao can concentrate on cleaning out those pests 😮

    • the emperor actually wasn’t the worst emperor i’ve read in a novel. i’ve encountered so many incompetent emperor in chinese novels that i’ve lost count of them, but jing shao father was definitely not on the top list

      • that’s also true. There are quite a few emperors I’ve read in both BL and BG novel, where I’m just seriously wondering, how exactly they managed to ascend the throne given the fact that their brains are obviously filled with water. No wait. The water has long since evaporated…
