    • my dear can I bother you for a little second, I really don’t know where else to ask (一。一;;） I just started reading TWF and I noticed that Dan Dan translates directly from jjwxc, some words in ch.23-24-26 were censored so I started panicking hehe, do you know if the rest of the chapters are censored too? ;-;

      • The story hasn’t been updated in a while so I remember the story but I don’t remember things being censored. If you are talking about those small square things which appear instead of words(the only thing I can think of) then yeah it does appear in future chapters.

          • I am not sure if you misunderstood or not but I meant that some words are censored in the future chapters too. However it is really minimal and I think it is mostly for their ancestor’s name(the guy who established the dynasty/kingdom).

I took it that the squares will appear again in the next chapters, which isn’t any bother, I checked other websites and could fill in the blanks. but that got me curious to know whether or not the juicy parts were left out (since Dan Dan stated on her coffee page that she uses the raws fom JJ to translate, and the text there is edited/censored). but I undertand from your first replay that she did translate those parts, correct me if i’m wrong (_ _ )*

  7. The ups and downs in this chapter are wild I really can’t ahaha. I love that the Emperor’s decision was basically to put Jing Shao in charge…so long as he didn’t actually want the throne himself, anyway. To be fair, it’s not a bad choice, Jing Shao really is that straightforward about things—he just wouldn’t make a good Emperor long-term. If it turns out he did all the scheming and preparation this lifetime and then doesn’t need it I’ll actually be pretty excited, it’s rare for a rebirth story to have a character go through great effort to prepare for their future and then have everything fixed by other changes entirely, but it feels very appropriate for a character like Jing Shao who never really did grasp what had gone wrong in the first place

  40. It is not the wrong edict. That edict is what will be read if Jing Shao had led his troops into the palace or had he shown interest towards the throne. Jun Qing had said, Emperor intended Crown Prince had been Jing Chen from the start. And the second edict is more like a reward for Jing Shao loyalty. Jing Chen will rose like intended as Emperor and Jing Shao is rewarded to be Crown Prince.

    All along, Jun Qing read the Emperor the best .

    I guess last life, after Jing Shao is chase to be executed, Emperor should shortly died of this poisoning too. Because Emperor must have still wanted to name Jing Chen as heir, so the crime of poisoning him fall under Jing Chen. Without Jing Shao’s protection, I doubt Emperor and Jing Chen will last longer after Jing Shao jumped the cliff.

    The emperor is a tactician through and through. He had an edict ready for each answer. Yes= You’re a traitor, because I’m giving it to your brother and I don’t want you to rise-up in the future. No= We can all trust you going forward. And of course he wants Jing Chen to know that he’d made plans for either outcome (cause, who knows, JC might have to do something similar in the future).

    • I actually already read from jjwxc directly. even not fully understand I got rough picture of the story. but still I think dan-dan translation is the best one I ever read. let’s we wait Dan-dan to comeback 😭

  70. after reading a couple of time back and forth I am starting to think that emperor purposely make the minister read the first edict to show jing shao how a greedy him will end up, and the second edict to show him a reward for he full fills his duties as cheng wang. if jing shao accept to be the next emperor then it means he didn’t aware of his capabilities over his older brother, luckily jun qin existents weighing him a lot.. jun qin is really his life companion in the two lifetime
