  5. Thanks for the chapter. JQ seems so a litte sad and desolate even when accepting Jing Shaon hug and kissing. Lately I’m reading of a fair lot of people shoved in imperial pond by envious cousins/step parents and the like😯. Anyway I hope JQ begin soon to appreciate JS affection in a more proactive way

    On to this chapter:

    • Awiee, my heart hurts for JQ. It’s no wonder he has little self-esteem and reluctant to accept JS’s affection, no thanks to his father and his half-siblings. His mother was just teaching him the best that she could given their circumstances.
    • Love love love how JS pampers him with an impromptu stargazing date! And they ended with a kiss ʚ♡⃛ɞ(ू•ᴗ•ू❁)
    • And yees, how freaking fishy it was that nobody cared that a little kid fell into a pond all by himself? Now we can see why his mother is so protective of him.

  11. I just realized that up to this chapter, the words used for concubine child is a bastard son.. I think that’s a bit rude? Illegitimate child would be more appropriate i suppose

    • The purpose of using “bastard son” is to BE rude and offensive to JQ. And technically, JQ is a legitimate son since his mother is part of the Marquis’ household; he’s just not born to the official wife.
