  1. if Gong Wei was a “nightmare” as he called him, why is he obsessed with Xiang Xiaoyuan now? I assume he knows, or suspects, that he is Gong Wei.

either way, I really dislike this guy.

    thanks for the chapter <3

    • Not so much heartless…as kinda completely insensitive. Drops the ‘I like only you’ bombshell, then runs away. No wonder Xu Bai is so grumpy. I love the easily-flustered-tsundere type… 😍

      • I’m 50/50 with that besides Xu bai is the one who interpreted gong wei’s “i like you” as I love you and gong wei is not obligated to love him back after all the pain and mistreatment xu bai has caused him

        • Sure Jan, let’s just erase all the good he’s done for Gong Wei and forget all the suffering Gong wei caused based on what is likely to be a biased narrative from Gong Wei’s perspective

          • Care to list all the good he’s done to gong wei? Because all the good things he’s done doesn’t make up for the sh!t he puts gong wei thru just because he’s obsessed/tsundere

          • obviously my view on xu bai will be biased and will be changed in the future but until then I view him as someone who is deranged and a psychopath who is obsessed with gong wei. I say he’s deranged because I can’t forget the fact that he previously tried to stab gong wei in the eyes just because he teased him (??) and is willing to prison wether gong wei likes it or not

  2. “even though I keep frightening him more and more he just won’t stay still and let me confine him. wife is so unfaithful, running off with someone who is genuinely nice to him.”

Run for your life Gong Wei! Also for the life of Xiaoyuan, who is hopefully a fragment of Gong Wei’s shattered soul and not some wholly innocent bystander caught up in this.

    😟

    • “Genuinely nice to him” the guy who technically humiliated and was racist to him the first chapters…?

Bro the amount of haye Xu Bai is getting is actually kinda what, you people really shouldn’t read cultivation novels

      • yeah? he said shitty things, but he also is sticking out his own neck to make sure Gong Wei is ok and he at least is still pretty young and immature. I’ve read cultivation stuff hundred of times and I still think psycho characters that refuse to communicate and just force the issue don’t deserve pity. I don’t hate him by the way, I just don’t baby him and sympathize with a grown ass adult who can’t deal with his own hornyness and casually tortures and leaves people to die bc he is so indifferent and crazy. He can have a chance when he gets over himself, but … ah what’s the use in arguing. I can comment with my opinion without someone playing police ok? bug off.
  3. Ah, I see. For Xu Shuangtze, Gong Wei is his worst nightmare because he’s been exposed as a true human being. That Xu Shuangtze still have a heart and understands love. That Xu Shuangtze is actually not that almighty. I suppose he’s ashamed of knowing and realizing this. Poor guy.

I don’t know how they’ll mend their previous relationship, but I hope this misunderstanding can soon be untangled.

Thank you for the update ❤️

    • These are my random ideas on it – I think it’s more that he’s been attracted to GW for a long time, but has tried to remain a mentor and because he (XST) cultivated the way of the heartless, which precludes romance. So GW threatens boundaries without truly being aware of it (and sometimes deliberately). I think this is the reason he’s XST’s ‘worst nightmare’ – XST realises he can no longer maintain those boundaries, nor a cultivation method which has now been ‘rewritten’ by GW (remember XST had a ‘love trial’ resolved by GW). I think XST is super confused and totally tsundere. I hope they’ll start untangling the misunderstandings soon too!
      • +1

I think so, too. XST has been attracted to GW for a very long time, so GW unknowlingly overthrew his whole cultivating method. He blames GW for it, though, which is not exactly fair.

  4. Srsly, I’m so happy right now that GW ran away with YX. Yes, YX was behaving as a really big arse at the beginning but hey, he just risked his damn life just to help GW who clearly seeked help from him. And (sry for everyone who likes characters like that, I just do it if it isn’t too exaggerated) seeing XST as an overly tsun tsun atm, for me he’s just worse than YX at the beginning. He’s humiliating (“teasing”) GW openly nonstop. It doesn’t matter if he thinks/knows that it is GW inside that body. What he did to him in the past, what GW did to him, who knows the whole story.. I do not lol

Then why am I still reading it? Bc I found the idea of the story interesting, I’m still waiting for some kind of character growth and really do hope that XST will change later on. (If somebody knows it, I’d be glad over a simple yes or no in a reply, no spoilers, no other stuff needed.)

Aside from all that, thx for the ch (ㅅ˘ㅂ˘)

  5. thank god. this forced imprisonment romance was too fckin toxic for me to read anymore

  6. damn, boi be toxic hahahhaa

but well, guess XS couldn’t stand the fact that he kept getting deviated from his cultivation path by Gong Wei who didn’t even seem to have any inkling about what he has done (aka stolen the heart of XS).

But I guess being the person to have killed the one he ‘loved’ with his own hands must have been the straw that broke the camel’s back and now he’s become a tsun with yandere tendencies, except the dere side doesn’t seem to show as often as the tsun and yan part of him sksksk

  7. Lmaoo what is this unnecessary hate against Xu Bai? Guy tries his best to be reasonable and keep his distance and yet Gong Wei made fun of his past trauma and tried to provoke him regarding the illusion…honestly I don’t blame GW, he is way too insensitive due to his non-human nature…

I get his anger, it’s humiliating on one hand to be broken out of the illusion, but to have someone who has been a part of his affection thoughtlessly use that instead of something else to help him get out of that relationship obstacle…..Its infuriating and OBVIOUSLY you’d want to kill someone, especially the one who created it…..sigh these people needs counselling classes

  8. lol, it really seems like people are taking a lot of descriptions in this novel so literally. the xu shuangtze’s bashing here is….

poor xu bai. he has fallen in love with gong wei from so long ago, back when they were both still “young”. but he knows that gong wei “like” isn’t the same as his own “like” — gong wei is simple: he might say to xu shuangtze that xu shuangtze is the only one he “likes”, and then in the next second immediately abandons him for yuchi rui. xu shuangtze is so misunderstood. he built this forbidden place to hide away / exterminate his own love for gong wei, because he thinks gong wei wouldn’t be able to reciprocate it and he doesn’t want to force him. of course, that’s my own interpretation and it could be wrong, but that’s how i see it. gong wei sees this as a “prison” — but did xu bai ever, in their previous life, tried to lock him up in there? no.

obviously, i love gong wei. but, with regards to the “past” — everybody seems to be forgetting that gong wei was the one who tried to assassinate xu shuangtze. if he hadn’t, then No Way Out wouldn’t have killed him. not that i think he deserves his death (because i’m sure there is an explanation behind why gong wei did that) — but it’s not like xu bai just randomly went to kill gong wei for fun. gong wei’s assassination of xu bai is okay, but xu bai’s (possibly accidental) killing of him isn’t?

  9. My guess was correct, XS did stop his sword because he saw that bracelet/ring? on Gong Wei’s hand…

Also, Gong wei’s like is different from what XS might want….

And did GW have any feelings for XS at all? But he suppressed it cause he was to kill XS….

    Thanks for the chapter 🤍

  10. if everyone’s fucking pissed at the guy for his behavior without caring to find out why he may be behaving that way…why even read it then? go read something with characters that aren’t too complicated for you. like goodnight moon.

    • Seriously. Of course the ML is going to be complicated and difficult – it’s that kind of story! It was obvious from the description. He will probably go through a lot of character growth and/or we will get his side of the story (or what really happened, since even GW doesn’t trust his memories) in the second half of the story. It isn’t as if the ML has even been particularly bad yet, just paranoid and a little yandere. It’s just too soon in the story to be casting aapersions.
