4. Exciting!! I was hoping this might happen, I really want to see how Xu Shuangtze reacts to him. Gong Wei also now has confirmation that his reincarnation is a real thing, not any kind of false memory or illusion. I have to wonder if there’ll be more than one Gong Wei here, though, since he implied Xu Shuangtze might make up any specter at any moment, and it seems likely that he’d make up a Gong Wei as part of things he fears or regrets… It’s probably not relevant, but I’m also interested in the fact that Xu Shauangtze was not actually next to Gong Wei when the illusion ended after his wife died, for some reason I’d imagined they were in the same room. Xu Shuangtze saying “I no longer have such a thing as fear” makes me wonder about both his cultivation path and whether that might be because Gong Wei has already died, so there’s nothing left to fear happening…
