Shejin Huiling noticed the sad whimpering of the small wolf cub and shook her head, burying it into the smaller one’s fur to calm down.
Meng Yixuan watched the gentle interactions with a teasing smile, the little one’s near-silent whimpers flew like melodies to his ears, and he understood everything she was saying perfectly.

“Me pups are born at two hundred! Mama carried me for that long!!”
Meng Yixuan couldn’t make sense of her prestigious claim at all, how in the world was something so small able to be so old, and how could that make sense at all, he’d been there on the day of her birth!
“I’m a super awesome, super rare wolf deity pup! Before Mama could birth me, I had to go through countless trials after gaining consciousness. That’s just how it is! I was born older, yanno?”
“But then, why would you call me, a younger, gege? I don’t understand that at all!”
“Mama said it was more respectful!”
“And how do you explain your… brain youth?”
“ARE YOU CALLING ME CHILDISH?!” The cub asked out loud, but the others could only really hear her yap at him as she continued to be nuzzled into by Shejin Huiling.
When the other two turned to him, he shrank into his robes shyly as he hid behind Huli Bao’s ever-so-slightly-larger-than-his-own frame.
Meng Yixuan soothed her by retaliating just as loud telepathically, “OF COURSE I’M CALLING YOU CHILDISH, YOU’RE A CHILD! ANYTHING YOU DO IS CHILDISH!”
The little black floof lowered her head in understanding, “you’re right, gege, I am rather young…well…relative to the others!” And so she was no longer angry and instead climbed onto Shejin Huiling head and fell asleep there.
Meng Yixuan couldn’t even find it in him to retaliate at her blatant pettiness even after calming down, not when he saw the absolute ecstasy that invaded Ling Jie’s features.
After that little explosion of emotions, the group continued on their journey to the edge of the world— the country’s border of Dew Land.
A journey that took less than a week with the fun joy’s of 
friendship
