The surroundings around the cave were soon filled with a mess of egg pits. Wu Jin even saw a dinosaur mama dig a hole––see that there was already an egg inside and simply stuff more eggs in.
This kind of herbivorous dinosaur really lived up to their zero brain capacity.
However, this made it easier for them to survive compared to any other dinosaur.
They had a high survival rate and ate all the time, creating the next generation when it had nothing else to do. It was a mature and self-sufficient species that could continue breeding and procreating after the Allosaurus had eaten their meal––after all, they couldn’t gorge themselves on the 20 meter long Apatosauruses even if they wanted to eat them all.
The little dinosaurs came out of the eggshells one after another and rushed around the forest happily. Although most of them would disappear before they reached adulthood, countless Apatosauruses joined the ranks of the adult dragons.

Tbh the current contest is just weird and requires too much suspension of disbelief. I can’t stop wondering about how they shuttle dinosaurs around like delivery goods and how the new dinosaurs always just settle right down and start laying eggs immediately.
Same tbh. Kinda having a hard time connecting with this part of the novel. I prefer hand to hand combats more. I’m still looking forward for more fluff tho 😄

think of it more in terms of games like Spore. the point of the game isn’t to model realistic animal behavior, but to provide a simplified simulative overview of the mechanisms of evolution. these likely aren’t “real” dinosaurs so much as some kind of robotic approximation roughly modeling their abilities and behavior. it’s a survival game in the sense that Survivor is, and i personally find it the most fascinating, imaginative, and fun one yet.
No, those are supposed to be real dinosaurs. There’s even a hatchery where they pick out the correct species and send them out to the contestants, per the previous chapters. The contestants have also been eating dinosaurs and their eggs, so there’s no way those are robotics.
regardless, it stands that realistic dinosaur behavior isn’t the point of the game and you’re getting caught up in details and missing the bigger picture.
it’s kind of hilarious that this is what “throws all logic aside” for you, considering everything about this entire story, least of all the main character’s miraculous growth from idol to rambo in the span of a few weeks, but agree to disagree

However, don’t forget that this is a sci-fi world where dinosaurs are successfully raised and all sorts of genetic modifications are possible. How hard can it be then for them to have bred dinosaurs that can breed faster? As for the difficulties and side-effects, it isn’t that hard for me to assume that they’ve already covered/reduced that in the past. Plus it seems like they just have a whole bunch of dinosaurs that already have fertilised eggs in them, so when they deposit them in the contest, they’re all ready to lay them.
My point is that I feel it requires alot of assuming on the readers’ part. The readers shouldn’t have to continuously make up excuses to convince ourselves that the plot makes sense. Hence my observation that it requires too much suspension of disbelief. I’m sure everyone has different thresholds, and this arc jumped a bit too far out of mine. So I’m just gonna pretty much read but tune out the surroundings and focus on the couple’s antics. XD

The sponsor is showcasing their creatures and plants for people to see. When the players buy a creature, they simply bring one over that already exists. They are precious and that’s why the teams are asked to use tranquilizers whenever possible.
To me the most confusing bit is the quick terraforming, but since the sponsor is already known to terraform planets for their vacation packages I guess they’d be efficient at it 🤔
Anyway, that’s how I’ve understood it. Hope it helps anyone reading this.
