Reborn with an Old Enemy on the Day of our MarriageCh86 - Shattered White Moonlight

In this early morning, Zheng BuLu sat on the living room couch of the Lin family home. Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing sat opposite of him, while Lin YaZhi was seated on his right.

Lin YaZhi yawned as he rubbed his eyes and said: “Old Zheng, hurry and make a decision, ah. I still want to go back to sleep.” VSge7p

Zheng BuLu had two huge eye bags on his face. He was obviously tired, and he looked at Lin YaZhi with a bitter expression.

After the phone call he had with Lin YaZhi, Zheng BuLu rushed back to Rong City overnight and knocked on the Lin family’s door early this morning.

However, he was the only one who spent all last night worrying. The three people in front of him didn’t look the least bit sleep deprived. In fact, when Lin YaZhi opened the door for him, Lin YaZhi looked annoyed! If he wasn’t so insistent, Zheng BuLu had no doubt that Lin YaZhi would’ve simply gone back to sleep.

Zheng BuLu was originally very worried, upset, and angry. He spent the whole night thinking of all the ways he could teach the two children a good lesson. Zheng BuLu even thought of initiating a preemptive strike, to jolt them back to reality first, then slowly guiding them patiently and systematically back to the right path. 15P9QS

And he really did start to do this. As soon as Zheng BuLu saw Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing, he scolded them, and scolded them, and scolded them. But he didn’t get a single change of expression from the two. In fact, they asked him to wait so that they could go back and brush their teeth and wash their faces first. It was only after they were clean and tidy that they invited Zheng BuLu to sit down.

Zheng BuLu let his temper out for half a day, but it was akin to hitting cotton with a hammer. There wasn’t even the slightest echo that could be heard. It made the present situation quite awkward.

Zheng BuLu didn’t know if he just imagined things, but Lin YaZhi looked like he was watching a funny show.

His temper was explosive, but in the end, it had minimal effect. Zheng BuLu found the situation baffling, so he turned to his son for clarification. But when he saw Zheng PingQing, Zheng BuLu got frightened.

HALQXp

He had been so angry that he didn’t notice until now, but Zheng BuLu found that Zheng PingQing had several bruises on his arms.

Zheng BuLu became so nervous that he forgot his anger. He quickly asked: “PingQing, why are you covered in bruises, ah? Who did you fight with?”

Lin YaZhi coughed to one side, and uncomfortably answered: “It was me.”

Zheng BuLu looked at him, obviously unwilling to believe this. “Brother Lin, don’t try to help him lie! Others may not know, but I know you well, ah. How can I believe that you would hit a child!” jVnGv

Lin Qian: “….”

Zheng PingQing: “….”

For a moment, the trio seriously pondered how Zheng BuLu could develop such a fantastical impression of Lin YaZhi.

Lin YaZhi also became a little embarrassed. After having a night to think about things, he regretted treating Zheng PingQing so harshly. After some hesitation, he said: “I found out about their relationship yesterday and acted impulsively. At the heat of the moment, I…” k1EUyB

Zheng BuLu became even more baffled. “Brother Lin, you really can’t lie well, ah. If you really did hit him because of their relationship, then why didn’t Ah Qian get hurt? You couldn’t have just hit PingQing, right?”

Lin Qian: “…..”

Zheng PingQing: “….”

Lin YaZhi’s eyes strayed to the right, then to the left. Unable to look directly at Zheng BuLu, he finally replied: “…I didn’t think about it. I started hitting Xiao Zheng, then suddenly realized their relationship wasn’t that big of a deal…” 590Aib

Lin YaZhi’s tone was stiff and sounded very unreliable.

Sure enough, Zheng BuLu was at a loss. There was something wrong with Lin YaZhi’s words, but in the end, he couldn’t pick out any flaws. So Zheng BuLu could only bitterly turn back towards his son. After confirming that Zheng PingQing’s injuries were only skin-deep, he calmed down and said: “Let’s get back to talking about you two.”

Lin Qian looked at Zheng PingQing in silence.

Zheng PingQing crazily waved his hands, his voice panicked as he said: “Dad, you’ve got it wrong! I didn’t say such things, ah. I’m a pure, unsullied gay person!”

Zheng BuLu: “….” rf0XKY

Zheng BuLu felt his chest heave ever so slightly. He turned his gaze to Lin Qian and questioned: “Ah Qian, truthfully, PingQing had never had such inclinations before he met you. Be honest- did you bring him into that world…”

Zheng BuLu didn’t manage to finish his sentence before Lin YaZhi jumped up. He had been quiet all this time, but now, he angrily said: “What are you implying? Are you suspecting Ah Qian for this? Are you looking for a fight?!”

Zheng BuLu:” ….”

Zheng BuLu turned his doubtful eyes towards Lin YaZhi, shocked at his response. Wimwsn

Although Zheng BuLu found their phone call last night to be strange, he thought it was just because Lin YaZhi was in a bad mood from their children’s affairs. In his mind, Lin YaZhi was still a polite and gentle high school teacher.

Even when Lin YaZhi said that he beat Zheng PingQing up, Zheng BuLu’s first reaction was not to believe this statement.

However, right now, the man standing in front of him was fierce, rude, and ready to get physical with him.

Zheng BuLu finally realized that Lin YaZhi wasn’t helping Zheng PingQing lie, but really did beat him up… N3S6Lb

At this moment, Zheng BuLu felt like the image he had of his friend was a white moonlight in his heart that had shattered.

For a while, he didn’t know if he should feel heartache for his son, or for his supposedly fake friendship.

Zheng BuLu looked at Lin YaZhi with a complicated expression on his face. His voice low, he said: “I didn’t mean it like that. I just wanted to clarify the situation.”

Lin YaZhi pressed his knuckles, then reluctantly sat back down. He coldly said: “What’s there to clarify? They’re teenagers, ah. Isn’t it normal for them to fall in love?” y06idu

Zheng BuLu: “….”

Even Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing couldn’t help but secretly glance at Lin YaZhi from the corners of their eyes. They were shocked. Lin YaZhi’s attitude today was remarkably different from his attitude yesterday.

The couple didn’t expect that after a single night, Lin YaZhi would not only accept their relationship but also try to enlighten Zheng BuLu.

If it wasn’t for Zheng BuLu’s presence, Lin Qian would’ve given his father a brocade flag. VdL4aY

Lin YaZhi’s generation was quite conservative, so accepting their relationship showed his strong adaptive and receptive abilities.

However, Lin Qian was simply overestimating him. At this time, Lin YaZhi was only able to pretend in front of Zheng BuLu because the people he cared about already made it clear where they stood in the situation. In the end, Lin Qian hadn’t given him the opportunity to choose.

As for Zheng BuLu, Lin YaZhi’s intention wasn’t really to convince him, but to instead make himself feel better.

Lin YaZhi’s posturing was enough. For a while, Zheng BuLu really thought that he was unreasonable. Qcu4SC

Zheng BuLu felt miserable. After a while, he tried to continue insisting: “I just wanted to know the cause and effect. Perhaps it’s worth discussing…”

“There’s no cause or effect.” Lin YaZhi interrupted. “How can there be a cause and effect in love?”

Zheng BuLu: “…” He just couldn’t understand. How can Lin YaZhi be so calm?

Was he really just thinking too conservatively? caw9ly

However, Zheng BuLu was simply overestimating him. Lin YaZhi was saying such things entirely due to his own selfishness.

When Lin Qian came out of the closet, he kept saying that he was the one who pursued Zheng PingQing first. Since there was no one else there at the time, Lin YaZhi could still stubbornly put all the blame on Zheng PingQing. But if Zheng BuLu investigated, Lin Qian will certainly become somewhat responsible…

No. He will never allow his baby cabbage to be condemned by the father pig.

Even if it was the cabbage that took the initiative, it’s still the pig’s fault! meP1Uh

No one is allowed to hold his cabbage accountable!

The others didn’t know Lin YaZhi’s inner thoughts and only thought that he had a revelation overnight.

Even Zheng PingQing, who was beaten up by him, couldn’t help but praise: “Uncle Lin, you’re really open-minded, ah. Lin Qian is fortunate to have a father like you.”

Lin Qian smiled and added: “Dad is so nice.” Rkf0Xl

After getting praised by his son, Lin Yazhi’s mood lifted. He raised his chin and forcefully said: “It’s nothing. A parent’s greatest desire is for their children to be happy. Gay or not, as long as you’re happy, Dad will definitely support you.”

Zheng PingQing enviously said: “That’s the kind of father I want, ah…”

Zheng BuLu: “!!!!”

Zheng BuLu suddenly felt a sense of crisis in his heart. He felt like he would lose his son right this moment if he didn’t say something. ro62jy

But he really couldn’t accept the fact that his son became gay seemingly overnight.

Zheng BuLu rubbed his temples for a long time, then finally came up with a solution.

He can find allies.

Zheng BuLu coughed and said: “It’s great that Brother Lin can calmly accept this, but frankly, this isn’t a small thing. There are few parents who can easily accept it like you do…” wo5Qua

“Dad, we don’t need other parents to accept it.” Zheng PingQing said.

His words hit Zheng BuLu’s heart. Zheng BuLu restrained his emotions and tried to smile as he replied: “But what about your mother? Don’t you care about your mother’s feelings?”

At his question, Lin YaZhi couldn’t help but laugh out loud in great pleasure.

Lin YaZhi now found Zheng BuLu quite pleasing to the eye because now he was able to definitely confirm: Zheng BuLu and Chen ShiYi really had nothing in common with each other, nor do they talk privately. xMVvfJ

Zheng BuLu looked at him in confusion. “Why are you laughing, Brother Lin?”

Lin YaZhi relaxed and said in a casual, but boastful way: “Oh, I forgot to mention it. ShiYi also knows about their relationship, and she thinks the same way as I do.”

Zheng BuLu: “….”

Lin YaZhi was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to capture the essence of his words, so he kindly helped Zheng BuLu and said: “ShiYi and I think alike.” dq4Fuv

The room fell into a long and awkward silence.

After who knows how long, Zheng BuLu stood up and said: “Let’s finish here for today. I’ll go back first and think about this again. We can talk again once everyone can think more clearly.”

Lin YaZhi happily stood up and replied: “I’ll walk you down.”

Zheng BuLu looked at Lin YaZhi’s proud smile and felt complicated. Yf1s6I

In one short day, Zheng BuLu not only found out that his son was gay but also uncovered the true personality of his new friend.

He felt that compared to his son’s secret, Lin YaZhi’s sudden change was more difficult to swallow.

What white moonlight, this was false, false.

For the richest man in the city, sure enough, only plastic friendships between phony middle-aged men were possible. hvcWjt

Father pig: smoking.jpg

I found this funny, but also very sad. The one person in this situation that is closest to the title ‘parent’ was Zheng BuLu, and he was hit hard in this chapter. (In my personal opinion, Chen ShiYi and Lin YaZhi aren’t very good parents. They certainly try, but…if Lin Qian and Zheng PingQing weren’t adults…)

It’s extremely hilarious that Lin YaZhi is his ‘white moonlight,’ but it’s also sad that the new friend he treasured wasn’t a genuine friend at all.

Honestly, Lin YaZhi was somewhat scummy in this chapter. bZK1Ly

Also, Lin YaZhi and Chen ShiYi got the ‘we’ll wait for you to accept us, even if it takes decades’ speech, but Zheng BuLu didn’t, ah. He deserves the same consideration, ah!

an idiom meaning the entire process of development. Basically, Zheng BuLu wants to know the entire process of his son’s change in sexuality.

plastic friendships is a slang/term that means fake friends. It’s usually used by young people to describe young people. Think like bitchy fake friends. It’s supposed to create a funny image of middle-aged men acting like teenage girls, but I don’t know how else to word it to make it funnier, sorry.

  1. I really don’t think Zhen BuLu is a good father either. He surely love his son, but he isn’t even trying to make a relationship with him, I mean: the only thing he did for Zheng PingQuing was throw money at him and make that his assistant deal with whatever he needs.

Recall that he didn’t even notice that his girlfriend was picking up tares between them or bothered with at least trying to ever speak to ZPQ to see why he was so angry at everyone. He just passively accepted that whatever his assistant told him was the truth and that’s it. They don’t even live in the same city and neither do they try to communicate regularly with ZPQ

When ZPQ got mad at CSY in his past life it was because he honestly has it worse than LQ, Being negligected by both parents. Yeah, maybe he deserves the same respect, but… At least CSY and LYS have made some attempt to genuinely get closer to their children at this time, something that ZBL has not done. Yes, he helped get rid of the intriguing girlfriend, but he himself gave her the power to do what she did.If she’d ever bothered to meet her son and talk to him head-on about what was going on, things wouldn’t have gotten to the point where they became virtual strangers for each other like in the past life.

Anyway, thank you very much for the chapter 😘😘

    • +1 I feel the same about ZBL, but I think I understand why other readers may feel for him, because in this present life at least he is learning how to be a good papa by listening and paying attention to his son, whereas CSY is absent as usual, and LYZ will be too once he goes back to his job.

    • More than that… what happened in the past lifetime is in part due to the parents. Both ZPQ and LQ where raised by parents with many faults. Simply caring for your kid is rarely ever enough to raise them up well. But I have to agree with translator-sama, the way father Zheng was delivered the news of his son’s relationship wasn’t good- father Lin acted very selfishly here.

        • Usually, if you assumed and the other party shows averse reaction, you tried to joke around or retract and distract them. Or at least he can say, the kids spring a bad jokes after exam stress and proceed to say why don’t you come back tomorrow. Sane parents will let the children told Father Zheng. Because Father Zheng had the right to and the children bear the responsible to. This is what level headed parent will do for the sake of giving life lesson to their sons. That way father Zheng can get the well wishing of the children that “he can takes his time as they will wait till he can accept it”.
    • But Zheng BuLu was stuffed by He YiJun. Telling him bad things about Zheng PingQing. And let’s be honest if Lin Qian can forgive Lin Yazhi for being absent most of his life than it’s only fair that Zheng PingQing does the same. Zheng BuLu still went to meet ZPQ atleast unlike LYZ who left for years.

After all, you can tell by the way Zheng BuLu and Zheng PingQing greeted each other at New Year that they don’t have that bad of a relationship unlike Lin Qian and Lin Yazhi at the start. And Lin Yazhi and Chen Shiyi were acting crazy when they found out about them being gay. Although the author wrote it as funny but what Lin Yazhi did can be considered abuse. And I hate the way LYZ immediately started to blame and fight ZPQ. In contrast ZBL was more like a father and didn’t get angry was just shocked. Although I like LYZ I think the way he treats Zheng BuLu is very rude. After all ZBL treats both Chen Shiyi and Lin Yazhi like friends. And he didn’t even once act like a jealous ex…

    • +2 I think Mr. Lin and Ms. Chen are better parents than Mr. Zheng. Isn’t it obvious? That guy let his girlfriend do everything and even made our baby Zheng relationship collapse with literally everyone. If Mr. Zheng ever had time for baby Zheng then that wouldn’t have happened and he wouldn’t have resented Ms. Chen so much. At least Ms. Chen and Mr. Lin tried their best, the best parent here is Mr. Lin, he literally gave up his everything and walked on a hard path for the rest of his life for his children and got nothing in return. Sure he wasn’t there before for LinLin but even LinLin acknowledged that his mother never resented his father because she understood his struggles. Also Mr. Lin is just being a cutie like he is lol his priorities are just a bit mixed up 😂😂
  2. I feel sad for papa Zheng. I still hope he and papa Lin will become genuine friends.

    Thanks for the chapter

  3. Between ZBL and LYZ I think LYZ is definitely the best parent because of a number of reasons. Yeah they’re all shitty parents but LYZ is definitely a lot less shitty than ZBL

    Thanks for the chapter.

    • I don’t really think so. LYZ definitely showed “more care” because he is showing a standard middle class lifestyle. He works regular 9-5. While ZBL lived high class lifestyle, lived near the company so can’t drive back to back and business trips. In the beginning, LQ and LYZ definitely bad more strained relationship than ZPQ and ZBL. ZPQ had a perfect fake family last life at least until he graduated or even futher but LQ had been fighting his dad all his life lifetime until he didn’t even care. LYZ made the relationship strained by himself while ZBL had the meddling of outsiders. Considering both lacked communication skills, I will say LYZ messed up more. Even by speech and mannerism, ZBL wins by landslide. He didn’t get physical, talks and ranted first and later traced his child’s past and asked the partner whether he is the one the initiator. He didn’t accuse, he asked. No bias. Like civilized person. In this chapter, I was as hurt as ZBL when he had to drive the whole night, but interrupted every seconds he tried to have communication with the pair and had to leave alone, as if he is a total stranger.
  4. Thanks for the chapter! I do feel sorry for the dad hit with that bomb & having everyone else be all casual about it… & the “teacher” had such an unbecoming reaction…

  5. May want to fix this sentence, I’m not sure which name is supposed to go in it.

As for Zheng BuLu, his intention wasn’t really to convince Zheng BuLu, but to make himself feel better.

  6. ZBL just believed whatever his assistant said about his son though, he is the boss of his own company, I’m sure he could at least give his son 30 min of his time. If he can’t go home for some reason then he could call.

    • I think we all can see ZBL had his company out of Rong City. Impossible la to travel back to forth. He also had weak communication skills. Everytime he tried to talk to ZPQ, He YiJun interrupted and completed his sentence for him. You can see as this grow over time, he accepted it like being conditioned. Like a trained dog. Even here, when he tried to have communication with ZPQ and LQ, and LYZ interrupted, he can’t finish his sentence. This is psychological works left by He YiJun and definitely only affected anything related to ZPQ, not his outside self. That is why I said ZBL did more efforts but it become null due to the one he trusted, He YiJun didn’t do what he asked. He gave nannies, gardeners, call the school, money expenses and probably more but got betrayed. I won’t fault him because even ZPQ believed He YiJun and never suspected her. And tbh, ZPQ seems to love his dad more than Chen ShiYi. ZBL talks okay with ZPQ without HYJ. Remember the one requesting to talk is ZBL when seeds of doubts appear. Unlike LYZ that had all the time in the world to greet his son everyday but managed to keep quiet or fighting if they ever talk. They are the way they are now because LQ conceeded. After all, in this chapter it is plain to see LYZ is one prideful egoistic man. You can imagine how bad last life is with LQ never bending his back. The parents rank for me: ZBL > LYZ > CSY.
  7. Ah thanks Xefielle-sama, I thought I was overly sensitive but seeing that you think the same I feel relieved.

It’s a hilarious chapter but at the same time it pains me how Zheng BuLu gets the ‘deal with it card’ while Lin YaZhi can say and do what he wants and be a worse patent. To be honest, if he had acted like that with actual teens who didn’t get to deal with mich homophobia yet…. It would have been a disaster

  8. I’m just here thinking, does no one in this universe know the concept of bisexuality? ZPQ could like both his emperial concubines and LQ lol

  9. As someone who is actually LGBT, LYZ and ZBL’s words both sting. And I definitely agree that LYZ was really scummy this chapter but I can’t say that ZBL is the best dad. LYZ shouldn’t have outed LQ and ZQP and he shouldn’t have insulted ZBL because he didn’t know before LYZ and decided to belittle him because of it.

  10. I don’t think Zheng bulu is good father, but LYZ is definitely scummy!!

Thank you so much for the chapter!(๑´>᎑<)~❤

  11. No. He will never allow his baby cabbage to be condemned by the father pig.

Even if it was the cabbage that took the initiative, it’s still the pig’s fault!

No one is allowed to hold his cabbage accountable!

    😂😂😂😂

  12. Poor Zheng BuLu… 😌 I really don’t know if i should like Lin YaZhi or get angry at him ahhh What a complicated feeling xD

Thank you for the chapter~~! 💜💜💜

  13. Rather than a good father, I think that ZBL’s reaction was the most normal out of them. It’s probably stems from their innitial thoughts. Both CSY and LYZ knew their fragile standing in their sons heart and were careful. They all both know that the two were stubborn but independent and as parents, they has just regained their rights to openly care again. They know their faults and were guilty as the two leads has shown them attitude throughout.

But ZBL was different. While he was an absent father as well, he still thought that ML was a child that just in his rebellious phase and that’s why their relationship wasn’t good. Not because he was an absent father. He was sad and just learn that it’s not good for his son to be alone, but he wasn’t as guilty in mentality as the other two.

While he cares for his son, it’s him out of the three that know less about the two children. And that’s why he could give a very normal father reaction. There’s this underlying part hinting that he really only started to give his son an attention.

  14. I totally agree!! I was really disappointed and angry at Lin YaZhi. Causing bruises even if skin deep should have gotten a stronger reaction especially from LQ. Zheng BuLu is my favorite parent!

  16. “No. He will never allow his baby cabbage to be condemned by the father pig. Even if it was the cabbage that took the initiative, it’s still the pig’s fault!”

LMAO😭😂I didnt know if to laugh or cry

  17. I really feel bad for ZBL. It was really unfair and mean to him. Like he wasn’t even considered and was not even properly explained the situation. From the beginning he was trying to take better care of his son and was not like CSY or LYZ (especially) who came after they are more like adults.

Although I didn’t really like LYZ, but what he did previously and currently really made me dislike him. He really felt like a plastic friend…

  18. Nah tbh none of the parents here are good enough. The only father figure i can truely respect here is teacher bai yanzhu and nobody else. From comedic angle sure i can enjoy seeing these parents but i i were to think deeper they have just too many shortcomings and to mend their relationships their sons had to mature, reborn and compromise to. Basically none of the parents did anything on their own initiative to actually do something about their tangled up relationship.
