Translator's Note

Divi: This just means lurking in the stream waiting for the streamer to start before his actual schedule.

Translator's Note

Divi: Duo queuing is game terminology. Just means they’re queuing with a partner.

Translator's Note

Divi: Getting carried means to not pull your weight in a game, and thus get “carried” by your teammates’ performances to either win the game or just barely make it anywhere.

Translator's Note

Divi: Most eSports team have designated houses for the team to live in and train at for their set hours a day. This is their “base of operations”. It’s a live-in dorm type of thing.

In China, they got some serious training facilities in their gaming house. PwmcFN

Translator's Note

Divi: This means focusing on building up their supplies and guns rather than gunfights at the beginning.

Translator's Note

Divi: The raws use city, because a lot of the cities do have lots of housing/buildings and weapons available, but this includes all hot spots like military base, school, farm, shooting range , piers which aren’t “cities”

Translator's Note

Divi: police station

Chinese players call that a Police Station… but North American server usually calls that a warehouse. We’ll keep it as police station though.

Translator's Note

Divi: The official term of “jumping out of the window” in PUBG is vaulting. This is when you hold onto the window sill and then vault through the window. You don’t need the window to be open at this point, because when you vault through it, the glass will shatter. If you vault through a window that has already been shattered (via melee or gunshots) you don’t make that much noise jumping through.

Back in 2017~ early 2018, there was a glitch called crouch-jumping through the window. Here you glitched yourself that you touched the upper part of the window and then you crouched and jumped through the window without shattering the glass. So for players that actually knew this trick, they never did vault jumping. It was patched later on though! Just a tidbit for people who did play PUBG back then.

Translator's Note

Divi: As in he’ll bait people by shooting them with a pistol, and the people will just think that he has a pistol and is weak so they’ll expose themselves more.

  6. Note to self: in the future, wait to read the translators’ notes until after finishing the chapter; not as you go.

I just spent idk how long falling down a Google/Wikipedia hole b/c I clicked the link to see the article about gaming houses in China. Which stated that the (honestly, pretty cool) gaming house shown there was inspired by Ender’s Game; which led me to Google that; which to me reading through every single one of the plot summaries for every single one of the books in the Ender Series and the accompanying Shadow Series, as well as the link to the Ender’s Game movie. Which led to me seeing the article on the controversy due to the author’s views on homosexuality and gay marriage – which didn’t actually say whether he was supportive or homophic, so I had to go read his bio to learn about it. At which point I became disgusted and infuriated by his blatant and outspoken homophobia.

By the time I was done fuming and remembered that I was originally reading a novel, I completely forgot where I was and had to start reading the chapter all over again. LOL 😆

(This is not me discouraging you guys from posting links and TNs, btw. This is me mocking myself for my ADHD.)
