The ending is bittersweet. On the one hand I’m relieved no one was left behind. They’re all too precious. On the other hand, I do miss the distinctly separate three male leads. I also don’t really have a sense of Li Junye as a character as well as I do the other three…. Except perhaps, he seems to be the biggest vinegar jar of them all haha.
Also, I still don’t understand why shizun failed his last tribulation, nor how he finally overcome it. Similarly, I don’t understand how splitting into three souls helped Li Junye overcome his tribulation. I think may be because I’m missing contextual information about Dao and literary tropes in Chinese literature. This is only the third danmei I have read.
