However, the man said:
“You have given me a response to my call. So now, it is my turn to respond to your call.”
At the man’s smile, the Great Spirit cried.
Knowing that there were no impurities in the man’s soul, She cried.
The Great Spirit’s tears washed over the blood-soaked earth, becoming rain of blessings, and revived the earth.
The man pushed onwards along the path he needed to wade through.
For the sake of the world, the people, all the living, that person’s self was sacrificed—
Before long, the world regained its light.
However, at that moment, the man’s life was about to meet its end.
The rescued creatures lamented. For this irrational world that could not save the man, they lamented and wailed in grief.
Despite that, until the very last moment, the man never thought himself pitiful.
His life was at its end. Yet, the world was once again able to step into a new tomorrow. This was truly a blessing. There was no need to be afraid of tomorrow’s arrival. When the sun rose, life would be born again.
The man, who wagered everything for his wish, for the promises he exchanged with the Great Spirit, was proud of his sacrifice.

Learning of his mind, the Great Spirit shed tears and kissed the man.
Before long, the man was enveloped in light and became a beautiful beast, opening his eyes once more.
“Your wishes have been heard. You shall live forever. Your heart too, your body too, you shall be together with me……”
From the heavens was a downpour of petals.
The Great Spirit’s love turned into light, and once again rained over the earth.
Looking over the land which had regained its peace, the beautiful Great Spirit and divine beast smiled in their fortune and joy.
The man’s wish, before and after, without any change, had only been one.

I’m guessing ‘children’ refers to her creation and not her actual children though, but it would still explain Guy’s sadness at the Great Spirit’s disappearance as it subconsciously parallels his sadness at his own mother’s disappearance… and also the fact that the spirit came back for the man but his mother didn’t, and wouldn’t. Guy being a child wouldn’t know how to analyze and resolve these complex emotions so he just let go.
