Our Sweet DaysChapter 32

Mianmian glowed when he was wheeled into the room around six hours later. Sun Yi and Marcus were gone at this point; they’d gone out to some restaurant to get dinner. Only Sun Fang and Ivy were in the room, rising to their feet as the door opened.

Sun Fang grinned at Mianmian, taking quick steps forward to grip Mianmian’s clammy hand. ”It went well, I presume?” he asked, bending down to hug the other omega softly. l964UV

Mianmian laughed into his ear. ”Very well,” he confirmed, his hands landing on Sun Fang’s back and petting gently.

”And the baby?”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

”Xiao Xi is wheeling her up.”

Sun Fang hummed. At the sound of somebody clearing their throat, he stepped back and switched to simply holding Mianmian’s hand. The nurse pushing the wheelchair was giving him a disapproving look. With the ease of long practice, Sun Fang ignored her entirely. He focused instead on keeping contact with Mianmian as the man was pushed over to the bed and then climbed onto it with a death-grip on Sun Fang’s hand, frowning all the while. PCM2 X

When Mianmian was finally comfortable on the bed and the nurse had relayed a whole host of instructions, the nurse left. Not without a last disapproving look at their still connected hands and since Sun Fang had no reason not to—he stuck his tongue out at her.

Her horrified face made him laugh.

Mianmian giggled on the bed, scooting back so that Sun Fang had room to sit next to him. The head of the bed was angled up so it functioned as a backrest and with additional pillows as support, they sat nearly completely upright. Instantly, Mianmian slumped so he was leaning against Sun Fang’s shoulder, and Sun Fang twisted to make it slightly more comfortable.

He brought his hand up to Mianmian’s head and slowly started to pull his fingers through the short hair. He messaged the scalp lightly and Mianmian groaned quietly, his shoulders loosening up and his legs winding with Sun Fang’s.

Deng Xi arrived with the baby only a scant minute later. Mianmian only turned his head so that he could watch them, his eyes tracking their every move. The baby was in one of those baby carriage things, where the walls were transparent so that she had a good view of everything. Deng Xi smiled at them, his eyes bright and teary.

Sun Fang stretched out his neck to get a better view. ”She sleeping?” he asked, as the baby hadn’t made any noise yet.

”Yeah,” whispered his cousin. He pushed the cart closer and placed it next to them on Sun Fang’s side of the bed. Mianmian didn’t move; he simply continued to stare in contented silence. Sun Fang pulled the cart a little closer so he had a better view.

”You settled on a name yet?” asked Sun Fang while he gently swept his finger over the baby’s cheek. He’d clipped all his nails before he came here, just to be safe.  Qrn74I

”Zan,” Mianmian mumbled. ”Deng Zan.” Then he glared at his husband. ”But I’m still calling her Casey.”

”Of course,” Deng Xi said and nodded so many times that Sun Fang almost worried his head would snap clean off. Smiling a little at the thought, he waved his fingers over the baby’s eyes, watching as she squinted at them. She really was very pink and pruny.

Deng Xi sat down on the armchair closest to them, pulling it closer so it was right next to the baby. He rested a hand next to her, occasionally gripping her tiny hand and watching it flex. The man barely seemed able to tear his gaze away from her. Sun Fang pulled out his phone and snapped a photo of them.

”Send me that,” Mianmian said. 43wrt6

”Naturally,” Sun Fang said. He directed the camera to the baby and took a bunch of more pictures. Switching between filters, he even got some in monochrome, some in sepia, some in greyscale and some black and white ones. He was not entirely certain what the difference was between all those grey ones, but the camera had a mode to automatically switch filter after every picture.

Once he had about fifty pictures, he started to scroll through them. Mianmian hummed at some and giggled at others, and every one that caused some kind of reaction in him, Sun Fang sent. It was easy; their phones were already connected so he just shot them off.

”Do you mind if I send some of these to Mo Cheng?” Sun Fang asked as he was staring at one image that highlighted how pink the baby was. And also how tiny she was.

Mianmian answered, ”Send all you want.” CJdi6n

Sun Fang smiled and quickly pressed a kiss to Mianmian’s hair. ”Thank you, love.”

Grinning, Mianmian laughed and said, ”No problem, darling.”

The baby eventually woke up. They did have a tendency to do that. When she did, she did so screaming. Sun Fang winced at the cutting sound, and Ivy returned not long after with a nurse that showed Mianmian how to feed the baby. Sun Fang wasn’t there for that, leaving to go to the bathroom because his bladder was really insistent about it.

After that, Ivy reminded him, ”You haven’t eaten a proper meal since breakfast.” Admittedly, it had been a very late breakfast, but still. His stomach protested its cruel treatment.  W0l3re

Sun Fang checked the phone. It was still almost fully charged. Shooting off a quick text to Deng Xi (who was more likely to obsessively check it), Sun Fang agreed, ”Let’s find a nice restaurant.” As they were leaving, it occurred to him that it had been a while since Sun Yi and Marcus had left.

Settling into the car and logging back into his game, Sun Fang abandoned that thought. It was none of his business, even though the idea of them getting food-poisoning and thus being delayed was hilarious. Shame that (probably) wasn’t what had actually happened.

  4. Probably not food poisoning. You have to plan these things ahead. Deng Xi seems pretty dedicated to his daughter and really respectful of the two omegas’ friendship.
